My name is Jerry. I LOVE music and passing my knowledge on to others. I have played many different instruments in many different kinds of bands. It all one major thing in common, it was FUN! If you are not having fun while learning an instrument you won't want to learn. Lessons can be fun AND educational at the same time. I have had many parents tell me I'm one of the best teachers they have ever seen. (A couple of them were public school teachers themselves). I truly want my students to succeed and I will do everything in my power to help them accomplish that!

Jerry is a wonderful instructor. I wasn’t sure how online lessons would go but they have been seamless and fun and my son is making progress with the bugle. I would highly recommend this format and this teacher. The convenience and quality of instruction are excellent. We are signing up for more lessons and may move on to another instrument once my son feels confident on the bugle.

My goal is to create a positive, supportive learning environment focused on individual needs and desires to help young musicians succeed. In other words, I focus on what my students want to learn in order for them to not only enjoy the process of practicing and studying music, but to develop a personal drive that will lead them to success. Each student is different, prefers different sounds, different styles, and has a different way of understanding what is shown to them. Students will have the opportunity to explore the areas of music they find interesting, whether that is studying music theory, playing their favorite pop music, or composing their own original ideas.

About Codi

Hello! My name is Codi, I play cello and viola, and I compose. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University for four years and graduated with a bachelor's degree in music. "After only two sessions I am so glad to have found Jessica. She is patient, observant, helpful and so encouraging. I was unsure how online cello lessons would work but this is the ideal format for me. Jessica is able to observe form and offer gentle suggestions how as well as instruction on sound. I wish I was able to take the lessons in person with Jessica because there are a couple limitations to Skype (such as a slight lag and inability to have seamless dialogue or duets) but Jessica obviously knows how to deal with these technical problems. I highly recommend Jessica and am sure that with her help even an old, slow returning cellist will soon be enjoying playing complex music. Finally, Jessica has been very flexible with my crazy schedule lately. An awesome person and great instructor."

"Jessica is wonderful! I began studying the cello as a quite older student - in my 50s - and have had a few teachers over these last 15 years. When teaching an adult student, the teacher has to understand that our lives, schedules and demands are quite different that those of a young person. Jessica's patience, persistence and genuine good humor in the face of my busy life is beyond admirable. Even though I am quite challenged in finding practice time, she "puts up" with me and my showing up to lessons with minimal preparation. I've accepted that I'm never going to be the great cellist of my dreams, but Jessica is facilitating my learning to enjoy playing this wonderful instrument that I've had a deep love affair with for many years. I can't thank her enough."

"My name is Michelle. As of right now, I have taken cello lessons with Jared about four times. He is an excellent teacher, very patient and understanding, very knowledgeable and can answer almost any questions you may have regarding the cello and music. He also works very hard to try and teach you the song you are most interested in learning which makes any session fun!

Most importantly, I am always learning something new and feel like I am always progressing with my skill on the cello.

Kudos to Jared! *5 stars*"

"Our 12 year old daughter Jaime has been taking Cello Lesson’s with Megan online and we have found that not only is she an excellent teacher but she is also an excellent role model with a positive attitude. She is very supportive and helps Jaime build self-confidence in her playing which also translates to every day life. She first started taking online lessons with Megan temporarily while we were traveling but when we came back we found Jaime Learned from Megan’s online lessons better then she did from our teacher Who would travel to our house. We would recommend her to anybody and everybody but hopefully you won’t use her because we would like to keep her to jaime for as long as possible. :)"

Is Cello Hard to Learn? Read THIS Before Taking Lessons

Many beginning musicians wonder, “Is cello hard to learn?” The process of learning the cello is not difficult, but it’s important to keep in mind that the cello is not an instrument of instant gratification. It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to guide you along the way. How far you progress with cello is a direct result of the amount of quality time you put into practicing the instrument. Even someone who puts in just 30 minutes a day will notice a signi …
