About Collin

I have been playing and teaching professionally for over ten years. I love to play in all styles, from classical to jazz to rock & roll. I have been playing guitar and singing with a blues rock band for over 6 years now, and have had much experience writing songs and performing live. I have also had my classical compositions performed live by local orchestras and have had some of my music featured in commercials. Recently, I have put together an album of piano and synthesizer based instrumentals.

Lesson plans are based entirely on the student. Whether the student wishes to begin just learning the songs they enjoy, decides to delve into a long term theory based program, or even both, I can create a lesson plan catered to their personal needs.

I specialize in rock & roll and all the of the music that it is built upon. Anything from

blues to country to R&B to bluegrass is something I have a strong fascination and background with. I am also extremely well versed in college level music theory, and have helped many students prepare for their AP Music Theory tests.

About Daniel

I began playing the violin at age 7 and I have enjoyed every moment since! I switched to the viola at age 19 and pursued both a bachelor's and master's in Viola Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music. Music is always a journey and I have been lucky enough to perform in Germany, Denmark, Japan, China, and even in Carnegie Hall! I have been teaching for over 13 years and I have had students go on to play in Carnegie Hall, attend Interlochen Summer Arts Festival, and pursue degrees in music. There is so much joy in music and I try to always help students discover their own voice trough refining technique and constant shifts in perspective to solve problems and move forward. Music should always be fun and ultimately I want to give students the skills to teach themselves and to become their

own musical force! Discover your inner musical power, learn to trust your ear, and have fun getting lost in the music!

I specialize in, viola, violin, and viola d'amore.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with the progress our son Thomas made with Dan. Thomas started playing last year and was progressing faster than the rest of his third grade class which is why we were looking for a private teacher to help him along. Before taking lessons with Dan I had a hard time getting Thomas to practice. Thomas has begun practicing all on his own because he has been genuinely inspired. Dan is a true professional who always on time and in a good mood to teach. He was so patient with Thomas and developed practice techniques unique to Thomas's situation. Dan is more than just a violin teacher, he is dedicated to inspiring each student to love music. Thanks Dan!!!

About Isaac

My Values
As I’ve developed my teaching style over the last ten years, I’ve found myself zeroing in on a few key qualities I want to cultivate in my students and in my self including great ears, a high proficiency on the instrument, and a strong and interactive sense of musicality. At the center of my practice is a devotion to personal growth and discovery. For myself, I find this by teaching in a variety of contexts from teaching in classrooms at a private school to sharing volunteer masterclasses around the world. No matter the context it is my goal to share with my students and those who will listen the lessons I have learned through music and to help them uncover their own. As such I am constantly striving to inspire personal connections to the music and a stronger sense of community

My experience
I have consistently taught priva

te lessons to bass players, pianists, and other instrumentalists since 2010. I have also had the opportunity to teach over a dozen jazz clinics, including two separate visits to the annual Panama Jazz Festival to teach and perform. At Berklee I studied music pedagogy and continue to research pedagogy on my own time. Recently through a teacher training program I have participated in workshops learning the basics of Suzuki, Kodály, and Orff Shulwerk methods. I currently teach music classes part time at a Manhattan private school and part time in an El Sistema based after school strings program.

My students have gone on to win statewide competitions such as positions in the All State jazz band and orchestra. Some have participated in music festivals around the country such as the Newport Jazz Festival and others have continued on to study at the collegiate level at schools including McGill University and Northwestern University.

Isaac is an excellent teacher and is highly recommended. His method is not centered on drills, music reading or repetition, but rather on getting an understanding of how the notes, chords work together. In so doing, the student gets a great understanding of theory and it opens the door to improvisation. In addition he's very patient with folks such as myself who don't come to class with a deep understanding of music theory.

I have just begun lessons with Isaac. He is an excellent teacher; attuned to my needs, very good at explaining things, patient, very good at getting me to understand what I need to know. I look forward to learning upright bass with him!

Dr. John Ross is an excellent teacher! He helped me take the music I was preparing to record to a whole new level. He has so much knowledge and can present that knowledge in a way that is approachable for students of any level. I am so thankful I got to study with him!!!

John is an outstanding player and pedagogue. Over a number of years, I've observed John work with students of incredibly diverse backgrounds, ages, and skill levels. With each and every student, John connects with the individual, finding what will help that person rise to their fullest potential as a flute player. Technical progress is a given when studying with John. Additionally, students consistently enter his lessons eager to learn and leave with a renewed drive to grow. I cannot recommend John highly enough.

About Ben

I’m Ben of BZ Drum Studio. I’m a professional drummer and educator. I’ve performed around the world, in Japan, China, South America, Europe, Canada, and across the US having worked with some incredible jazz musicians (Randy Weston, Johnny O’Neal, Larry Ridley, David Williams, Roy Hargrove, Joel Press, Cecil Bridgewater, Deborah Davis, Joe Cohn, Jerry Dodgion, and Steve Nelson).

I specialize in jazz but play and teach many genres on both drum set and percussion. I’m fascinated by the many drumming traditions around the world, New Orleans, Brazil, West/Central Africa, European Classical, Klezmer, Cuba, American Jazz, Folk, and Rock and Roll.

I have a B.M. and M.M. from Manhattan School of Music and have 10+ years of private teaching experience. I’ve taught percussion classes at public, private, and charter schools and also have cond

ucted jazz masterclasses at various universities around the country. My students have been regularly chosen for prestigious ensembles such as Jazz at Lincoln Center’s student ensembles, Manhattan School of Music pre-college and summer camp, and Columbia University’s jazz ensembles.

In lessons we focus on strengthening the fundamentals (time, sound, groove feeling) while also working on creativity and drum set language. I have a passion for teaching my students. Lessons are usually generously extended over the allotted time, and I take each student’s goals into account when tailoring the individual lesson curriculums.

I owe Ben a lot. I spent about a month taking lessons with Ben to prep for an audition for a university jazz program (I had zero experience playing jazz before this). Ben was one of the best music teachers I have ever had: he managed to get me prepared for my audition in just a few short weeks (I got into the program and had an incredible experience), and, perhaps more importantly, he taught me basic principles about jazz and jazz drumming that I think about constantly - not only when I am playing, but when I’m listening to jazz (which is most of the day, thanks to all the great recommendations from Ben). Ben is also an awesome dude, and has been described to me by random jazz dudes at FatCat as one of the “best drummers in New York right now.” If you’re looking for a drum teacher, Ben is without a doubt the best choice out there.

About Hadley

You Are AWESOME!

Yes, you read that right... You're AWESOME!

Hey there!

This is Hadley J here... before I say why you're awesome. I just want to share about myself, so that you can feel that connection. Without knowing me, this conversation will be like an Awkward Stranger conversation, right?

So, a short version about myself:
* A Piano Tutor for about 8+ years.
* Author of 3 Book and one among them is, "The Untold Music Secrets".
* I have been in this Musical Industry for about 14 years.
* I have trained about 450+ students for the past 8+ years.
* Composed songs and sequenced music for albums
* I Organized a lot of Concerts showcasing my student's talent
* Self-Learned Sound Engineer
* Internet Marketer

This is just a short intro about myself. Now, coming to "You".

The reason why I said, "You're Awesome!" because... Afte

r teaching so many students, I've seen that each student have their own POWER and Knowledge that's like, "WOW! such an amazing talent" but most of them are NOT aware of that.

But, music has the power to bring out every individual's SUPERPOWER to the world in the easiest way.

Everyone is unique. So, what I teach is a customized lesson based on your emotion, your super quality, your superpower, and your amazing understanding.

What I believe is...
Music is an emotion. And, I want you to understand the power fo that emotion.

I won't teach you the songs... I will teach you the foundation of music and music and you will automatically play the song.

Above all,
I will be helping you to build your perfect Mindset.
80% Mindset & 20% Skillset.

You are AMAZING!

See you in class,

Your Friendly Tutor,

Hadley.

Hello ,this is Nishanthini.Music has the power to change our mind to a peaceful state ,no matter how stressful we are that is one of the special feature which it possess. In my life I feel music has played an important role making me more patient enough,it has also made me overcome the problem of distraction. To say in simple words, from black &white theme into gorgeous colors music has changed my life.In the classes, Hadley has got the special power to read the minds of students and to their expectations he teaches the art of music in their language (the way they could understand) he will also teach many life lessons to handle the emotions of the audience which is also important for a musician.

Very helpful. Teaches students the essence of music and how to feel the music and not just read and play the notes. Encourages students to create their own music and have a connection with the instrument. One will never realize how time flies in Hadley Sir's class.

Her home studio is beautiful and warm. She always greets me with a smile and knows exactly what our lesson plan and goal for the day will be. Brittany is extremely patient whenever I struggle to grasp a concept, and enthusiastically answers any question I can think to ask.
