Fundamentals in electric guitar playing both in rhythm and lead. explored in depth through exercises, scales, arpeggios, popular songs, and creative composing techniques.

About Ryan

Ryan's method and personality really clicked with my son. We definitely picked the right teacher!

Ryan is professional and easy going at the same time. So far so good. I'm excited to keep going.
Shelly S.
Ryan takes his time and tailors my lessons specifically to my level and to the type of music I’d like to play. He covers everything from the basics – like the proper way to hold the pick – to more advanced teachings like music theory. Ryan is flexible, patient, easy going, and he consistently teaches at a pace that I’m comfortable with. He provides take-home practice after every lesson and always has helpful suggestions any time I have questions. What I find incredibly helpful is that at the end of the lesson Ryan will run through the take-home practice on his guitar and let me record it on my phone so it’s easier for me to remember. When I’m ready to practice the next day I just pull up his notes and the video and I’m ready to go!

It’s obvious that Ryan has a passion for music, and it shows in his lessons. I would easily give him my highest recommendation.

Experienced music teacher with nearly 10 years experience teaching students of all ages and abilities from beginner to advanced. I also have experience teaching music to students with special needs, including autism and total vision impairment. I begin accepting students for guitar at age 8 and teach students up to age 99+. For students younger than 8 who wish to learn guitar, I start them on a ukulele which is much easier for very young students to handle. With lessons from me, you'll learn to read music and understand tab, develop your ear for hearing music (ear training), music theory, and technique with a goal of getting you playing your favorite style of music in the quickest time possible. I can teach you to play whatever style you wish. I can even help you learn to compose your own music! To accomplish that, I use a variety of learning aids and games to assist you in learning to read music and understand the deeper concepts of music theory. I taylor my teaching style to each ...

About Elizabeth

I grew up in a musical family. My mother was a piano teacher for 20 years, and my father could play any instrument he decided to pick up. From as young as I can remember, music was always surrounding me. I came to love it in all its forms and styles. I began playing piano when I was a little girl,

Guitar In The Modern Context -

Various lessons available focused on the guitar as an extension of the player. Emphasis on tone and style, over technique - it's not how many notes you can play, it's what you do with them.

About Richard

I can't wait to work with you! I am passionate about the subjects I teach, and find nothing can compare to seeing a student "get it", so they may too enjoy the passion that comes from learning and doing something they love. Everything I teach I've learned most completely by doing as a Profession

Richard is so patient and knowledgeable. I am very happy with our lessons. Because of my background with classical guitar he wondered if the fact that he doesn't read music and I am renewing my mind back into it would not be a good teaching set-up. Not at all. I now have an electric guitar and the five years spent playing classical, now fifteen years ago, did not give me a good foundation for understanding music theory unfortunately. I have a genre I had already picked out fingerstyle electric and now with some thinking my way through the basics I did have I still need to learn just basic strumming etc. I understand what he is referring to in music so we still speak in the same key. Also and lastly my daughter has a severe seizure/dementia disorder that is very unpredictable and our caregiver's mom just passed away so there will be times when I just can't do a week/day. He has been very understanding. I am smiling from my soul because music is my healing path for difficult stuff I couldn't pay any doctor/therapist to even call me back for. Thank you so much for your assistance. Sincerely Teresa

Noah is the best guitar instructor I’ve ever had. As a self taught guitarist I needed some help with the basics, but was also ready to learn some more advanced topics. Noah ensured every lesson was interesting and engaging even when covering simple topics. He also made the more complex topics easy to understand. He was patient and helped me become a better guitarist and musician I ever would have become on my own.
James Michael
As an adult, I came to him as a complete novice, and since day one Noah has been very patient and encouraging- balancing music theory with songs that interest me. He's been willing to adapt to my needs in order to accommodate my goals and expectations. A few months later, I can confidently say that I've exceeded all of my goals, and constantly advancing past what I thought I was capable of.

Thanks Noah!
Colleen
I've only had my first lesson, and I'm a complete novice with the guitar (I'm an adult with some limited musical background). Noah asked me about my goals and musical interests so he could tailor the class to meet my needs. He taught me how to tune the guitar before getting into chords, finger placement, strumming technique, and reading the tabs. Throughout the class, he was incredibly patient, encouraging, and explained everything very clearly without over-complicating the topics. He gave me written "homework" to practice (which I now understand how to read!!). I'm really psyched for my next lesson and pleased that I chose Noah for my instructor.

"Stephen is a brilliant and experienced guitar instructor. My wife signed me up the electric guitar lesson with Stephen after my retirement about a year ago. I told him that I had no music background and just wanted to be able to play the 70’s songs I like. The lesson plan is based on my level and my goal. I started the fundamentals and now I can play most my favorite 70’s songs. I enjoy every lesson with him. What I learn in one hour class can fill out the rest of the week. Thank you for making my retired life so meaningful. “It’s never too old to play guitar! “ I would highly recommend Stephen to anyone who wants to learn to play the guitar!"

"I first got to talking with Zach back in 2015, I had been looking for an accomplished musician to play at my husbands birthday party. He did not disappoint! ! Everyone was very impressed with his music style and professionalism. Through that connection we got to talking, and I also learned that he teaches music all over the south bay! Years later now in 2019, My 16 year old son had been wanting to take electric guitar lessons, but we had not been finding a good fit with a teacher. My son is very smart and artistic, however struggles with a mild learning disability. I reached out to Zach, and we discussed giving it a try. Zach is very patient and breaks up the music information in a way that is very understandable for my son, and is hands on pointing out the best techniques to help him excel, and stay engaged. My son has been taking lessons from Zach once a week for a few months, and I cannot believe my sons progress!! He actually enjoys learning the guitar and is feeling very inspired to continue to learn more because he is learning to play all the songs he is interested in. MY son is now teaching me how to play some new songs..I am thankful to Zach for empowering my son to unlock his musical ability and keeping him interested in learning in a stress free environment. Zach although very professional, he is a relaxed teacher, and very relatable to young people, teens and young adults which I think makes lessons fun! I am very picky about who teaches my kids, and Zach I would say checks off all the right boxes!!"

"Amazing guitar learning experience with Stephen!!!
Stephen is a very knowledgeable and professional music instructor. I have been taking lesson at his studio for about 8 months. I go there once a week for my 45 min class and practice 15 min every other days at home. Now I can play the musics I like. Also, during the lesson, he always put the me in the live band situation so I can react to the beats and rhythm from different instruments. Fun!!!!!!!!!"

"Taking lessons with Kismat was both fun and educational, as it should be. I was introduced to a variety of different music theory concepts at a pace which suited me. It was never too difficult nor too easy. Of course your progress will be dictated by how much you practice, but Kismat's lessons will give you a clear path to follow. Over all I had a lot of fun learning from him, he's a great teacher and fun guy to jam with."

"Ahmad is a fantastic teacher. No matter what skill level you are coming in, he can make you better. He makes sure that lessons focus on the songs/topics that you are interested in and has great patience.

Many times we think of learning guitar, or music in general, as a daunting task, but Ahmad has shown me how to think about playing guitar in a way that is approachable. He does a great job of mixing in theory where appropriate/necessary and will give more confidence in your ability to learn this great instrument than you have ever had!"
