Jack L. Seattle, WA

About Jack

I began studying music when I was 10, first in my elementary school and throughout high school and college. I have had amazing opportunities to perform with various musical groups across the country, most notably with the 204th Army Band. I also try to play out locally as much as I can. The two groups that I currently play for are the punk band "Omega Moo", and the indie rock band "The Requisite". In addition to these two groups, I also continue to play for the 204th Army Band, which allows me to tour a different part of the world each year. Other than performing, I am also dedicated to sharing and teaching other drummers to reach their musical goals. I teach privately out of my studio, located in North Seattle. *** Lesson Details *** I like to keep an open dialogue with my ...

Jack is a terrific instructor

Jack is such a positive teacher -- incredibly patient, easygoing, technically proficient, friendly. I'm a little older than most of his students so those new drumming pathways take a bit longer to establish but he makes each lesson fun and I feel I always learn at every lesson some new, interesting and challenging technique to practice which keeps me intrigued and eager to continue with lessons!

Great drummer

I have worked with Jack on a number of projects and he is the best drummer I have ever had the opportunity to rock with. So much of that comes from his commitment to practice, which is something that really shines through as he teaches you. His work ethic kind of rubs off on you and he keeps things exciting by always giving you something to reach for. Plus he's easy to get a long with.
Ben G. Lynnwood, WA

About Ben

I have been teaching French Horn, piano and composition privately for about seven years, mainly in Snohomish and King counties. I have also coached horn players in local school bands during this time, as well as helping students with learning disabilities. There are many difficulties that students encounter when studying music, and I want to help you turn weaknesses into strengths, and help you find out where your greatest strengths (and interests) lie in music. I'll work with you to help you understand your own musical desires and goals, so that you can get the most out of your lessons. I am committed to understanding each of my students, and to sharing my love of music with each one of them. I teach French Horn, piano, music theory and composition as well as songwriting. ...

I was apprehensive to the type of instructor I would hire. As we got over the first two sessions and able to get more acquainted, I like that Ben paid attention to the type of music I wanted to learn and tailored his lesson based on my skills level.

This Music Man is great!

Having taken piano lessons for over 40 years on and off, Ben is a refreshing change. He makes me laugh and learn in new ways and has rejuvinated my love of playing music. (Even though I had to bring out the dusty Hanon book!)

Tre's mom; REALTOR/Broker

Ben is teaching Tre wonderfully. He is really getting to know Tre and adjust the lessons accordingly. Tre likes his lessons and seems engaged in the songs, material (theory, practice book and flash cards) and process. It helps that Ben is patient, seems to be a good listener and gives helpful praise when Tre gets a concept or improves in his technique. Keep doing what your doing Ben. We care that it is all a positive experience for everyone : )Dayna

Erica provides piano lessons to our eight year-old son. She is timely, creative, and an excellent motivator. Erica easily built rapport with our son and made him feel special and respected. She knows how to keep him focused, while having a lot of fun. Our son looks forward to every lesson and we are impressed with how quickly he is advancing.

As a colleague of Erica's I have watched her grow into an incredible performer and educator. Her wisdom in teaching piano supersedes her years and is evident in her thoughtful integration of educational techniques, music theory, diverse repertoire, etc. in engaging lessons tailored for each student. Erica believes in herself and encourages others to do the same, thus creating an environment of "I can" rather than "I cannot or am not." If you are seeking a teacher to nurture a love for the instrument in addition to establishing fine technique in a safe and supportive setting-- call Erica.

From the moment we met Erica we knew we were going to lover her! She put both of our boys (8 and 11) at ease, made them laugh and challenged them right away. My 8 year old had lost interest in piano and after his first lesson with Erica he was hooked. Both boys now voluntarily practice and are learning a ton about overall music education. Erica is prompt, creative and energetic. We are thankful we found her!
