Daniel D. Kansas City, KS

About Daniel

Dan is a teacher and guitarist from Kansas City, KS. As a teenager he studied blues and jazz with former B.B. King sideman Dwight Foster. This background aided him when he took classes in jazz improvisation and music composition at the University of Kansas. At KU, he started giving guitar lessons and teaching English Literature to help pay tuition. He also joined the blues-rock/metal hybrid Inphobic, a group that went on to play with Carlos Santana, Everlast, and Cheap Trick among others. I have had two other guitar teachers in the past. Daniel far exceeds any of the previous two! I wouldn't hesitate for a nano-second to recommend him to others! If you are looking for a good guitar teacher, look no further.

Dan is a passionate teacher who makes the lesson fun!

Dan is patient and a great teacher. My son started learning how to play electric guitar with Dan and has developed a lot of progress in the past five months. Dan always shares the stories when teaching the lessons to make the lessons enjoyable. He has adapted his teaching style and lessons to suit my 7 year old beginner.

He is always on time, flexible and works with our schedule when we occasionally have conflicts. He encourages my son to ask questions and practice the variety of songs he teaches. I will not hesitate to recommend Dan if someone is looking for a knowledgeable and great teacher who cares about his students and teaches them what they want to know.

An absolutely fantastic teacher

I had been through 3 guitar teachers in just the past year before I finally found Daniel. While my previous teachers had all been very skilled and knowledgeable, Daniel was the first one who I felt actually took a sincere interest in helping me to achieve my goals. He consistently made a real effort to ensure we were focusing on what I wanted to focus on. He had a great habit of asking "Do you have any questions about the guitar that we haven't talked about yet?", and what was even better is I felt he genuinely wanted to know the answer. On top of all this, he is a phenomenal guitar player, a patient and articulate teacher, and a very friendly guy. I honestly cannot identify one deficit in his teaching style and system.

It's only been one lesson, but it is quite clear that Barbara knows her stuff. She has an air of comfort and confidence in her teaching that can only be achieved with years of experience. Barbara makes you instantly feel at home and makes an effort to get to know you before jumping into instruction. I'm looking forward to my next lesson with this great teacher!

Always looked forward to lessons with Heidi!

Heidi was my favorite voice teacher in college. I liked her so much that I requested her, as my coach, until graduation. I didn't major in voice, but her passion for music is contagious. Out of all the voice coaches I have had, her teaching skills improved the most. She is adept at helping her student's pick material that is challenging but works well with an individual's voice. Her personality is amiable and she genuinely cares about her student's improvement. I highly recommend Heidi as a voice coach.
Marci S. Lenexa, KS

About Marci

Welcome to my studio! Here is a recent blurb about me: Marci began her classical piano studies at 8 years old, in the private studio of concert pianist Elaine de San Miguel. In addition to recitals, concerts, camps and master classes, Marci branched out into performing in a variety of venues, as an accompanist for vocalists, instrumentalists, choirs and musicals. When she wasn't playing the piano for people, she was taking voice lessons, singing in both traditional & show choirs, and performing in musical theater. Her favorite TV show is currently "Phineas & Ferb"! (Great music on that show, if you hadn't noticed!) Marci holds a teaching license in the state of Kansas, and is classified as "highly qualified" according to the No Child Left Behind Law. She is currently working on ...

Marci is fabulous with senior citizens!!!

I am 60 years old, retired, and have always wanted to take piano lessons. Our perfect grandson, Max, has been taking lessons with Marci for a couple of years, and his brother, our other perfect grandson, Gibson, will be starting soon. Their mom recommended Marci with no hesitation. I do the same!!

I am a different student for Marci than she is used to. She has the gift of a true teacher to be able to teach any age. (As a retired teacher of 35 years, I can attest to this professionally as well as personally!) She has the gift of dealing with any age and any ability.

I would recommend Marci with my whole heart and no hesitation whatsoever!!

Tom is a most excellent vocal instructor

Tom is a wonderful teacher. He is always cheerful and encouraging and positive. He searches for the best selections to match my voice. He helps me work toward the best I can be and doesn't let me "settle" for anything less. Best of all, he is so fun to be with.

Piano Lessons

I started taking piano lessons from Dr Garrison in August 0f 2012. He has taught me about music notes and all their meanings. I started as a beginner with no musical knowledge or background. I am 56 and with Dr Garrison teaching method, knowledge and education he's given me the understanding I need to continue to learn from his instructions. Any questionsed that I have he has an answer for and each problem I have he solves each and everytime. I started my first lesson with an old keyboard I brought at a yard sale, but never used it. Since I have been under the instructions of Dr Garrison I have brought a Baldwin piano without any hesitation. I truly know with his teaching method/instructions that I will continue to learn something new at each lesson.
