Victoria H.

Abingdon, VA

About Victoria

Vicky is a graduate student, pursuing her Masters of Science in Music Therapy at Radford University. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the music program at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Music with Vocal Emphasis. At UCF she has studied with Dr. Jeremy Hunt and Kimberly Saunders Randall, and her past voice teachers include, Jason Reichman and Young Ju Lee, both FSU alumni. She started her music career with piano thirteen years ago under the wing of Diana Ryder, and from there her love for music grew. Growing up, she listened to a variety of music, classical, musical thea
tre, Disney, pop, and Vietnamese folk and pop music. Ms. Ryder exposed her to a plethora of new genres and from there she developed her own style. Piano-wise her primary focuses are the romantic and baroque era, especially Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin. Vocally, her styles branch musical theatre, opera, pop, country, and on occasion touches on jazz. She has made the effort to learn as much as she possibly can about music, the different ways to play, to sing, while still keeping true to her own style. She hopes that her students have that same drive and be open to learning all sorts of music!

Great teacher

Victoria is a great teacher, she understands my style of singing and helps me on my tone, focus, breath and everything else I need to become a great singer. She is a great person to work with. She also gives positive feedback and a nice way of letting you know if you have to work on something without making you feel bad. I look forward to my lessons with her every week!

Christopher P.

Johnson City, TN

About Christopher

I am a classically trained singer living in East Tennessee. I received by Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from East Tennessee State University in 2012 and my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Appalachian State University in 2014.

I am currently seeking employment with opera companies around the globe. I have performed all of the United States and in Europe with multiple professional organizations ranging from southern gospel groups, a professional men's choir, to professional theater companies.

I am committed to teaching young and experienced singers how to sing with good
technique in any style. I believe that there are many approaches to singing, and there are certain basic practices that can keep your voice healthy and beautiful no matter if you sing opera, broadway, pop, or choral music.
