I am a classically trained pianist (I studied piano performance at SUNY at Buffalo) and I've made a living all my life playing Blues, Rock, Jazz, Salsa and many other styles. With this background I am able to teach with many different approaches depending what the student is interested in pursuing and what approach fits the student best.
I teach beginning piano students sing the Alfred Method.
I will work in the genre of your choice, incorporating music theory
and vocal training, if desired.
I can teach as well as help practice with any kind of piano music, including playing techniques. I have very advanced piano skill and over 10 years of experience in classical and competitive piano learning. I have won many competitions, including the United States International Duo piano competition, so I can also help with piano performance abilities. I have two pianos at my home studio, one being a full-sized grand piano, and many piano books, please feel free to contact me! ^.^
I think piano is an awesome instrument for any musician to learn. I started putting time in about 2 years ago and I've found it to be a versatile, intuitive instrument with a great sound. My teaching style is about building a lesson plan based on what the student wants to achieve, and many of them have gone on to love to play and learn about music.
