My 10 year old son has been taking piano lessons with Raymond for nearly a year. He's steadily learning from Raymond's patient, encouraging, methodical teaching style. Raymond was able to note when my son was not reading the music.and took the necessary steps to slow him down and teach him properly. I really appreciate Raymond's pedagogical insights. Because of his knowledge of the learning process and his lifetime experience of making music, Raymond is the best piano teacher we've encountered!

The development of the piano lessons will depend on the level, goals, needs and available time of study of each student. Starting with board exercises that will provide independence and strengthen the fingers of both hands, studying at the same time the rhythmic figures, elements and symbols of a score.
I propose a flexible program to keep students excited and motivated, the idea is to make a diverse and entertaining class, although it is important to consider that the piano is a very rich instrument (rhythmic, harmonic and melodic instrument), which gives us many possibilities, but that requires constant practice to achieve a beautiful sound.

My first lesson with Frederick was great. I'm an intermediate player and he started me off with good discipline exercises. He is a doubler on clarinet and flute and that is what I want to do. I think he'll be a good coach.

Beginning students can expect to play from the very beginning lesson. I use structured method books to teach note-reading and technique, and combine these with games to teach music theory, ear-training, and composition/improv. Intermediate students can expect a broad range of musical styles, help with their own pieces that they wish to learn, as well as theory and musicianship skills enforced!
