With more than 20 years of playing and more than 15 years of performing professionally, I am happy to share what I know about making music on the saxophone.

I employ a teaching style that is built around the interactions between myself and each individual student. Beginners and advanced practitioners are welcome to study with me!

About Brendan
As a performing artist, I understand the many challenges that learning and communicating a new skill (such as learning a new language or studying music) presents. However, with years of experience, I have learned how to master many of them, and to teach others how to overcome their own difficulties by encouraging the teacher within each of them.

I figure out exactly where you are in your technique and knowledge of music and of the instrument. Then, I start teaching from there! For me, the goal of lessons should be the goal of the student, and I do my best to honor that!

I also encourage my advanced Jr. High and High School students to audition for various honor groups throughout California such as SCSBOA, CBDA, etc. With my background in these groups, I can effectively help my students prepare for the best audition they can do.

About Eric
Hi! I'm Eric, a Saxophonist, Composer, Singer, and Teacher that was born and raised in Southern California. I've been playing the saxophone for over ten years now, writing music for as long as I can remember, and singing since I was in elementary school. I play for a variety of groups in Los Angeles, and sometimes perform in L.A. and surrounding areas at venues such as the LightHouse, Saint Rocke, Avalon, and the Baked Potato.

I keep my lessons fun, efficient, and applicable. I give students assignments to work on, not only so they don't forget what we talk about, but also so they can also expand upon the concepts given in lessons, (which familiarizes them more with the information). I look forward to helping you unlock your potential!

I had an opportunity to polish up my language skill with an exceptional guidance I received from Dan over the past few years. As English is my third language, I have always encountered sets of challenges to become highly proficient at it post high school age. My grammar, listening and writing skills, just to name a few, have improved leaps and bounds by having to work with Dan one on one. His methodical approach and patience in teaching transcends any area of studies whether it be music or language. I would highly recommend Dan for any future students out there.

Dan taught me voice after I took a break from singing for a while. I had a lot of tongue tension and reverted to old habits with bad posture. Unlike my past instructors, he acquainted me with Alexander Technique for better awareness of my muscle tension to sing better. He also advised me to participate in classes like ballet outside of voice to supplement some of my problems with posture. Dan is a great communicator and genuinely wants to help you improve your instrument. Best teacher ever!

I teach saxophone primarily through the tried and true Rubank method. Students will learn how to properly care for the instrument, how to read music, music theory, instrument technique, practice techniques, ear training (how to play by ear), reed selection, and both classical and jazz repertoire. I also employ custom exercises specifically for saxophone to help my students progress the fastest.

About Kyle
Hello potential students! I have a B.A. in instrumental music education and composition. I have taught private lessons for over 12 years. Teaching private music lessons is my primary job, so I have much experience and wisdom compared to teachers who teach "on the side." Students of all ages stay with me a long time because I am very flexible in my teaching and know how to interact with many personalities and learning styles, producing great results and progress. My specialties are piano, woodwinds, and music technology (i.e. recording and production). You can find more information about me and what I do at caseymusicservice´«│com.

Kyle is a great piano teacher! He is very patient with my 12-year old son. Just yesterday he referred to him as “fun Kyle” because he teaches him small songs on the side that he can show friends and family or are for upcoming holidays. He’s always punctual and respectful of our family and home. I’m grateful to have found him!

Kyle has given me contra bass, aka upright bass, weekly lessons from August 2015 through May 2016. I have never played a string instrument prior to this, although I do play piano and have played the flute, bagpipes, and piccolo over the years. I did not need education in reading music.

Kyle was able to take me from sounding like a lower octave version of Jack Benny (a mid-20th century comedian famous for his howlingly horrid violin playing) to a level where I know how to hold the instrument and the bow, the fingerings, bowing technique, and how to get a very respectable sound from the instrument.

He also installed the strings when I received the new instrument, found a manufacturing flaw in the bridge height that the manufacturer subsequently paid to repair, and diagnosed a resonance issue with the instrument that was corrected with a balance weight on the string below the bridge.

Josh has been a fantastic Instructor for my middle school age son. He worked closely with him on several pieces that were required to audition at two summer music camps helping him to move from near last position the year before to the top of the class. His improvements were formally recognized with an award at the end of 7th grade and I think Josh was a large part of that improvement. We were saddened to hear that Josh would be leaving the Denver area but wish him the best of success in his new ventures. Josh is an excellent instructor and we would certainly work with him again in the future.

Students can expect to focus the following areas: concept of sound (tone, articulation, etc.), technical ability (including scales, arpeggios, patterns, etc.), and musical detail (pieces, etudes, jazz tunes, etc.). I have one goal: to help the saxophonist be ready for ANYTHING musical!

About Arthur
Hello, future student of mine!
I am an experienced jazz musician and educator, with experience performing and teaching in the classical, rock, and pop realms, also. I am also very willing to assist with composition, arranging, entrepreneurship, and other facets of the music business. I LOVE TEACHING!

Arthur W. is one of my best friends in the saxophone and jazz community. He is a joy to work with and inspiring to listen to. His compositions have modern flare while paying homage to the traditional big band sound. I've hired Arthur to work with my students, and it was a remarkable experience for them. In addition to being a remarkable saxophonist, composer, and educator, Arthur is just a wonderful person who's positive personality is contagious. Book lessons with Arthur today.
