I sincerely believe creating music should be a joyful & fulfilling experience and one that will be a positive change in someone’s life (as it has been for mine). I teach all genres of music on multiple instruments and specialize in audition preparation, real-life gig preparation and musical mastery. I want my students to reach their musical potential and aspirations, while having a good time doing something that they love.

There is no such thing as a musician with poor ear-training; it is a necessary skill for becoming fluent in the language of music. I teach ear-training as part of instrumental lessons (voice and piano) and a lessons by-themselves. You will learn how to read a vocal line by sight (without the aide of a piano), tap out rhythms, identify harmonic and melodic intervals, hear the difference between various chords in a harmonic progression, and transcribe music.

Although many miles apart, Kelvin has fostered a productive, professional relationship with both me and my 8 year old daughter. His ability to connect with her via Skype is a testament to his experience and good-nature. Kelvin praises her smallest achievements at every lesson and encourages her to excel. He teaches her to think beyond the notes on the page and takes every opportunity to make learning an instrument relevant to the real world. Each lesson is fun and upbeat. He is committed to her success and we are very lucky to have such a dedicated teacher."
