Although my training is in classical music, most of my lessons consist of playing and singing modern songs, while also learning the basics. I teach all ages and all experience levels. "Holly can recommended from my 14 yr. old daughter who took lessons from her for 2 yrs. Holly was an incredible voice teacher, and I have worked with a number of different teachers. I have been signing in choruses, bands, and solo since grammar school, I am now in my fifties and play out at local clubs solo or with another musician. She really helped me with the areas I identified as needing improvement but was also very focused on identifying other areas which could help me that I had not identified. I was very sad to see her move as over the 4 months we worked together, I was really starting to make great progress on some very technical areas of my singing. I would highly recommend her for her vast knowledge and gentle, warm style of imparting her lessons."

"Maggie is an awesome piano teacher! It has been 7 years since my last piano lesson and Maggie took over recently. I didn't have much confidence in myself, but I guess she saw potential in me. My former teacher was keen on using children's piano books for me because she thinks, despite being an adult, those teaching materials are the most appropriate for my level. But Maggie had me playing Hanon right away. It was intimidating, but definitely helped me build confidence in myself! I feel so empowered playing the piano now. :) She's also very flexible. My schedule is all over the place right now due to schoolwork, but she's able to accommodate me still. I highly recommend her!"

"She showed up on time and got right to setting up, and seemed to be patient and have a good rapport with my son. I found out he knew even more than I thought about playing, like terms and play styles. He enjoyed the lesson, and is now practicing and trying to write his own music. He's really looking forward to next week which is very encouraging. So far I'm very happy I decided to sign him up for lessons."

Why You Should Learn (At Least a Little) Music Theory

One of the most common weaknesses for amateur musicians is a lack of music theory knowledge. Many people assume that learning theory is difficult (it isn’t) that it has no practical purpose (it does), or even that it will actively make them worse at making music (quite the opposite). I’m here to convince you that learning a little about how music works is one of the most important skills you can develop and should absolutely be part of your daily practice routine. How to Practice Singing at Home: Setting Up Your Practice Space

Unlike most other musical instrument, your voice is something that you carry with you everywhere! This is perhaps why many beginners are less likely to consider how their practice space should be set up, and why they have more trouble with performances.
