I am a string specialist. That means I teach and play violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele and piano. I earned B.A. earned from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley Colorado where I was a double major in classical guitar and double bass. In my senior year I was the recipient of the Annual Concerto Contest where I performed the "Concerto in A Major" on double bass with the University orchestra for the spring concert. I have played in both professional and semi-professional orchestras in Colorado and Arizona. I believe that any student will practice more if he or she likes the music they are playing. Periodically I will ask a student to give me a name of a piece of music that they would like to learn how to play. Brynn teaches violin lessons to a wide range of students at all levels. From beginners to more advanced students, Brynn will use her friendly and organized teaching style to help all of her students achieve their goals. She uses the Suzuki books and the Barbara Barber scale method as a foundation for basic technique. Students will also learn basic music theory such as reading notes, rhythms and recognizing key signatures for all major and minor keys. She has roots in classical training but her students will be exposed to classical music along with rock, pop and contemporary styles of music. Brynn cannot wait to work and make music with you!

In your lessons with me, you will first learn proper set-up and technique, and we will mainly work from the Suzuki method books. Additionally, I will provide you with various scales, exercises, and "fun pieces" as you progress. I wholeheartedly believe that learning the violin should be enjoyable, and not a chore. So, wherever you are at with current skill level, and whatever your motives are for taking lessons, you can rest assured that we will have a great time together!

I have been playing violin since the age of 6. One day I had to make the difficult decision choosing between violin and piano, because both instruments are very dear to me. I chose violin as my primary instrument for its lyrical qualities and closeness to human voice. At the age of 13 I won the Saint Petersburg Violin Competition and performed with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic.
I am excited to share my love for this instrument with my students no matter what age they are. I see each person as an individual who has their own artistic voice and I will help you to further develop it.
I have won Gartoff International Violin Competition, Freiburg International Violin Competition, Dalhousie Solo Competition, Halifax Rose Bowl, Roosevelt Violin Competition and most recently competed in Schoenfeld International String Competition in Harbin, China, where my quartet placed 3rd. I have been teaching private piano, violin, guitar, and ukulele lessons for ten years. I won competitions, hundreds of dollars, and a scholarship through the Desert Valley Music Teacher Association (DVMTA). I have written and self-published two piano books with more in the works. I have worked on a Music Theory degree at MCC and plan to transfer to ASU to finish my bachelor's. I help students find the fun in music again with many involved music games and incentive programs. I instill a love and confidence in students of composing their own music from a young age.

With over 20 years of experience, I've helped students of all levels become scientific problem solvers, develop comfort and ease in playing, and express their musicality. My students grow to be well-rounded musicians with the curiosity and skills to be lifelong learners and music lovers.
