About Patricia

As a child I watched from the doorway as my older sister took her piano lessons. From that experience I taught myself to play the piano. My formal training came in college where I received my BA in Applied Music in piano and voice. I studied classical music and opera from a visiting professor from Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore MD. I graduated with honors and gave my Town Hall performance in the Spring of my Senior year. I had a passionate desire to be involved in music, to hear it and to perform it. I spent several years singing with the San Diego Opera Company, performing lead roles in Musical Theater and soloing in concerts from Monterrey to San Diego, CA. While still a student in college, I taught piano to children from the local community, so I have accumulated decades of teaching experience. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than

to see individuals "blossom" into their creative selves. Whether it is for a student's own enjoyment, audition preparation, recital performance or ongoing piano or voice development, I am committed to engaging you in an experience of learning and fun. It may be the biggest thrill of your lifetime!

*** Lesson Details ***
I love to have fun. For me, learning is a great source of fun. My goal is to make the process of your learning music fun while effective. I do have high standards for participation. I do not ask anything of you that I haven't done myself. I know, from many years of experience in performing and teaching, what it takes to make progress in a learning curve, Are you excited? Are you dedicated? Are you willing to jump in and get busy? I will give you the foundation of theory and technique to support your performance. I will expand your understanding and appreciation for music in its many styles and formats. No every other week or schedule as you go lessons, please.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room - Steinway piano, cathedral ceilings ... good acoustics.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Must have piano or quality keyboard. I definitely prefer piano.

*** Specialties ***
I was trained classically in both piano and voice, but spent many years in musical theater and singing in supper clubs, as well. I am capable of teaching most styles of piano and voice except rock and rap.

i recently came out of an audition and I sang my musical pieces better than I've ever done them before! The auditioner sat me down at the end and said he loves my voice. He said, based on how much he liked my pieces and how well I did that he would like to extend an early invitation for callbacks for the program! I really have Patricia to thank for that. She has helped me improve my voice by leaps and bounds in the time that i have been working with her and its amazing to get such immediate and rewarding results. I CAN NOT THANK PATRICIA ENOUGH! SHE COULD NOT HAVE PREPARED ME ANY BETTER AND IM SO GRATEFUL THAT I GET TO WORK WITH HER!!

Had to write a separate review for this subject. Jamone taught me step-by-step how to use my Cannon Rebel EOS T5. I am a youtube vlogger, and I was looking to create higher quality videos for my viewers. Jamone gave me tons of camera knowledge to better my videos. Thanks!

"Da-Rell did a great job teaching me how to dance in advance of a family wedding. I already had an instructor for ballroom dances, but needed someone to l
oosen me up for the club (rock, pop, hip-hop) dancing which represented a large part of the repertoire of the band's program at the wedding. After 5 hours of lessons I felt confident both using the moves that DaRell had taught me as well as even inventing some of my own along the way. DaRell did a great job on a difficult assignment, outside of the normal repertoire of most dance lessons."

"I've been working with Taylor for several months now and have enjoyed it very much! She has been helping me with Cubase and composition. Musicians need
to collaborate and share ideas and I'm grateful I've had the opportunity to do that with her. She is well organized, easy to get along with, and has an impressive background. I would highly recommend her for your next project or if you're new to DAW's."

"Taught me a choreography that I needed to perform in a few hours for a video we were recording on the same day. Even though it was last-minute, he showed
Marvelous patience and an ethereal calmness to his instructions. Once you get the feeling of his dance choreography, you start getting the “swag” or the flow of the whole vision which makes learning dance with him a Resplendent experience! Definitely the Most-skilled, exceptionally gifted and purposeful choreographer I’ve ever known! MUST take classes with KENN...I would!"

"Christine pays attention to the needs and level of understanding of each student. The ways she has taken time to instruct me, have not only taken me to an
other level, but then she'll turn around and explain it to the class, taking us all to another level as a group. She does in one class what some instructors I've had in NYC couldn't do in a month. She's patient and a great listener, which helps make her instruction so clear and incredibly effective. Including classes I've taken in LA, NYC, Indiana and Florida, Christine Alexander is easily the best Improv instructor I've ever had."
