I've been a writing, recording, performing and touring artist for 21 years now. I play in a national band and also do singer/songwriter solo work.
All of it came from learning how to play the guitar. I firmly believe that anybody can learn this, if they want to put in the work and effort. I guess the saying is: ''you don't work music, you play it, but it takes work to learn to play it''. Anyways, I've gathered a lot of experience over the years and still learning everyday. I really enjoy the teaching aspect of music and to make those musical connections with people. I think Keith Richards said it best when asked about the best part of being a musician,: ''you pass it on''. I will stand by that. Looking forward to meeting you!

About Lars

My name is Lars and I am looking forward to teaching you guitar. I've been teaching guitar for 7 years. I believe that anybody can learn to play well, if they work hard, stick with it and have a passion for it. Because I did. It took a lot of work for me and did not come easy. It's never easy, nor

Hi i'm Everett and i'm 16, I've been working with Lars for a few years now, He' been helping me write and make my own songs, even taking me to a professional recording studio to have the songs recorded. He's very good at communicating with me and helping me become my own guitar player and having taught me from not knowing a single thing, To being able to play with confidence. I would highly recommend him!

Pick a song you want to learn - I'll teach you how to play it! Want to learn how to write your own song? I can teach you!

I focus on your interests as a guitarist, and develop the lessons from there. I really listen and get to know you as a guitarist, a songwriter, a bandmate - however you see yourself, and help you achieve your dreams. All my lessons are rooted in a firm grasp of music theory, proper guitar technique, and a deep understanding of music history.

I've been teaching private guitar and songwriting lessons for over 10 years and have been a performing professional guitarist for 15 years. I've earned a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Oregon and have performed all over the United States and Canada in one band or another. After years of working on my scales and feeling like I still didn't know my way around the guitar, Tom was able to explain how to play scales vertically in both major and minor keys in just one lesson. No one before him had been able to explain it in such a way for it to finally click for me. Since then, I feel like my shredding skills have improved 10 fold and I have fallen even more in love with playing and jamming along to my favorite songs. Tom is patient, kind, calm, and an incredibly skilled guitarist that anyone would be lucky to learn from!

Thomas Dawson is a very informative, positive, and educational guitar teacher. He’s degree in music from University of Oregon is proof of his vast musical knowledge. His focus on rhyme will be sure to help you become a great guitar player. Above all he is a great person and fun to be around. After taking lessons with Tom my guitar skills and musicality vastly improved. I highly recommend him has a teacher.

Hey there! I'm a multi-instrumentalist with a strong foundation in Guitar, Bass, and Drums.

My lessons are curated behind a few things:
-the understanding of music theory (scales, chord progressions, rhythmic structure, song composition etc.)
-student's requests to learn specific songs and creating original song
-having FUN!

Because in my experience, you're not learning if you're not enjoying what you're doing.

After 6 years, of playing drums, I began my time as a guitar player. I grew as a guitar player tremendously fast because of my understanding and practice of rhythm. I began as an acoustic/folk guitarist, progressed into a blues/funk guitarist, and now play mainly jazz and neo-soul. I also am accustomed to teach many other genres. I now write, produce, and perform my own music and stream online.

When you take lessons with me you can expect that the lessons will increase your music theory knowledge, finger/hand dexterity, rhythm, ear training, performance ...

I have learned so much in just a few short lessons with Kevin. He is a great teacher, and a great musician. We explored so much more than I anticipated and he put me on the right track to teach myself more on my on time, which I am very grateful for. You will learn a LOT from Kevin!!

Great lesson, I leaned so much from Kevin! He has so much patience and is really good with giving tips and tricks.

Highly recommend Kevin! Just started drums and did 2 months of lessons with him at his in-home studio. Really cool set up, and he listens to what you’re interested in learning, while also recommending what to practice during the week between lessons. Also had a few jam sessions with him which were awesome!
Super chill guy, and I’m sure he’s great for every skill level and age. Thanks Kevin, will be back soon for follow up sessions!

I have devoted much of my life to music, and through MY decades’ worth of study in the jazz vernacular and wide knowledge of music from the past hundred years, hopes to be able to impart this same enthusiasm to his listeners and students.

I am a guitarist and composer from Seattle Washington. Beginning in 1995 I studied with Seattle musicians such as John Hanberry, Ev Stern and Milo Peterson. I have led and co-lead a number of different groups in Seattle performing at local clubs, weddings and bars ranging in styles including jazz, funk, swing and old time string music. Most notably I hosted the local Thursday night jazz jam session (2015-2017) and played double bass for the ‘20s jazz and Appalachian fiddle music band Porterbelly (2012-2020). In 2020, I moved to New York City to study at NYU.

Chrissy is a very competent and understanding teacher. As I wasn’t a typical student for her, she quickly changed her lesson structure and tried to cover content in different musical genres. She was patient with my progress and encouraging. I think I learned quiet a lot of information and hope to continue my lessons hopefully in the near future.

Curtis is a fantastic teacher! He is patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging. He teaches the type of songs you want to learn and not some song from a guitar guidebook. My first lesson was two hours and it quickly went by. I learned a lot, had a lot of fun and am looking forward to my next lesson. If you are in search of a guitar instructor, I would highly recommend him.

"I took guitar lessons from Billy for over 10 years. He is an outstanding teacher who is challenging but at the same time very patient. We managed to go through a very extensive repertoire of pieces ranging from the many Brazilian styles to Latin music and Flamenco. Not only is he a skilled and talented performer but his love and enthusiasm for teaching coupled with his extensive knowledge makes him the perfect choice for an instructor. For many years I took lessons at home with Billy but due to my hectic schedule we switched to Skype lessons. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the quality of the lessons was not affected in any way."

Pink Floyd Guitar Lesson | How to Play Like David Gilmour

When it comes to incredible guitar players, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd takes the cake. In this article, teacher Bernard M. shows you how to play the guitar just like the legend himself...   Many musicians strive to sound like their heroes. They want to get that special something that makes those legends stand out from the crowd. One of the best ways you can do this is to learn their parts -- beat for beat, note for note. While this can be difficult and time consuming, it's on …

The 10 Best Guitar Soloists of All Time | Solos and Guitar Tricks

As with any top 10 list, ranking the best guitar soloists is not an easy feat. Guitar solos are incredibly subjective, and what pleases one fan might make someone else plug their ears. My list is based on years of listening to and loving classic rock, indie music, and pop. If there's anyone I left out or anything you would change, I hope you'll let me know in the comments. 10. Do You Have The Right Strings On Your Guitar?

Each year the CMT honors country music stars at their Artists of the Year celebration - 2011's honorees included Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney.  Before they were stars, however, they had to work up their guitar skills from the very beginning. Of course, if you'd like to be the next musician in line for country stardom, you'll need to keep your guitar at your side.  Ideally, you should have already found the perfect guitar (or even better, maybe one of these.)
