Hello Singers in the making!
This class will help you improve, or learn, proper singing techniques; which will help you create your own beautiful, unique sound.
We will base the curriculum off of what your current level is.
- Your music is FREE, you will never need to purchase any sheet music when you are my student. I will make sure to get you a PDF of any music we work on.
- You will gain knowledge of the vocal anatomy; to use your instrument you must know how it works. So many people try to sing and they think they are bad singers, or believe they cannot sing. The fact is, you cannot sing properly unless you understand the structure of the anatomy that creates your sound. (To sing without knowing how your vocal folds, resonators, and lungs work would be like getting in a car and never being told what any of the gears do. It would be like baking without being told the ingredients.) You cannot "wing it", you have to know "how" in order to create a beautiful sound.

Singing with a resonant voice is one of the most beautiful things to be felt!
I want you to get the most out of our lesson and enjoy helping you get better at what you do best while we work on what you wish to improve!
I am good at creating a tailor made plan of study, based on the individual’s goals, styles and interests and have been a professional teacher for more than 5 years, including individual lessons, small vocal ensemble sound workshops and choir coaching.
I work on breathing technique for a resonant and voice and diction, as well as phrasing and improvising around the melodies. With my younger students, I might write songs and learn the words by miming while we work on articulation and good posture. I have experience with students as young as eight through college age and older and am open for genres from Pop, Soul and R&B to Jazz, original compositions and more.
I also teach how to read chords and accompany yourself if you have a piano or keyboard!

She's been recognizing and responding to the needs of our 7 years old daughter in a very sensitive way. She seems experienced and effortlessly creates a motivating atmosphere. She’s open for my daughter’s song choices and spontaneously personalizes them from time to time, for example writing new lyrics together or learning the words by dancing. She acts natural and professional.
In the beginning she asked me about my goals. We started with breathing exercises and simple warm-ups. She made me feel comfortable and courageous. I take lessons with her before every one of my concerts! Whatever the insecurity or confusion in my head- she's always very nice, patient and explains all of the exercises thoroughly.
Sabeth even makes me singalong-recordings for the more complex exercises, and always helps me with any follow-up questions outside of the lesson. I highly recommend her for singers of all levels!

In singing, we learn ear training, as well as note-reading, and a variety of vocal techniques, including breathing, pronunciation, strengthening the vocal muscles, and expanding the student's range. We also talk about the story telling behind the lyrics of a song and various performing techniques.
For books, I use the Full Voice Workbook series, in combination with some of my own materials for ear-training and basic theory. I use a variety of songbooks that focus on Disney songs, Broadway/show tunes, classical, and folk songs, depending on the student's age. If there are songs the student wants to work on outside of our regular lesson material, I encourage them to bring that to the lesson as well.
About Donna

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Andrew is extremely talented and knowledgeable. He is continually researching new methods to help me improve my working theory knowledge and musical skills. He is always providing me with challenging objectives that help me grow as a musician. He never makes me feel like I'm not doing well but instead is incredibly professional, fun, and supportive and helps me work through difficult pieces.
His lessons are meticulously tailor-made to fit the student. I started out desiring to improve my vocal skills but later asked Andrew to incorporate some advanced piano skills along with my vocal lessons. Since then, he has developed unique lesson plans to include singing and playing piano together and even composing and performing my own unique songs.
As far as scheduling, Andrew has been very flexible and understanding. It seems like every other week, my schedule changes and Andrew has been able to flex and meet with me at varying times.
Overall, it is clear that Andrew's focus is all about helping his students develop confidence and be the best that they can be. He always asks about my personal life with genuine interest and is engaged during conversation. I have never taken formal vocal lessons before and was not sure what to expect. I would recommend him to new students of all ages and levels. I couldn't have asked for a better experience."

Over the years the focus has changed from things like placement, support, and major changes to more nuanced things like vowel modification, rhythm, and style/performance to make my singing the strongest and most versatile it's ever been.
I highly recommend!"

Overall we have both been thrilled with the experience of taking lessons from Robert."
