Hi! My name is Kara. I tutor middle school through high school math including arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2, and geometry.
My philosophy surrounding education is simple: anyone can be good at school if they are taught how to be. From my own experience, I know that school is no fun if you are struggling, but it is something that you can learn!

I love teaching physics because I have always been a scientist at heart, from making trebuchets in the attic, to forcing a thermometer into boiling water to see if it passes 100 degrees centigrade before evaporating, in order to confirm the laws of the physical states of matter. I love spreading my love of physics to others, because it makes me happy when I can have elaborate conversations about simple machines with random individuals. In order to have those conversations, I must first break physics down to a level in which others can easily grasp its concepts. I do this by applying concept decomposition, which is explaining the theory behind all of the abstract formulas and laws that riddle classical physics. Let's stop letting physics surprise us, and let's surprise it when you ace your electrostatics test, and 'Flummox Physics'.
I am a distinguished graduate from Illinois Tech with a bachelor's of mechanical engineering. I make it my duty to break down many of the complexities in math, science and engineering that have been plaguing students since the beginning of time. I have over 10 years of teaching experience teaching

I took TOEFL perpetration classes with Henry. He is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. Because of his experience in journalism he has amazing knowledge in writing, reading, speaking, He worked on my general English skills first because I thought I had enough proficiency in English while I didn't, and after some classes he started TOEFL, he definitely knows what area of English I was weak in so, step by step, he lead me in the right direction. He's very responsible and carrying. I got a higher score than I was expecting."
Think creative writing is all that different from writing a research paper in class? You might be surprised! Read on as New Milford, NJ tutor Matthew H. explains... Creative writing tips seem to be counterintuitive; how can someone tell someone else how to be creative? The truth is that the secret to writing any good creative literature is not really that different from what you need for a really great academic paper: strong structure. I tutor many students for the SAT and GRE. …
