Once you get the basics down, you will learn how to play your favorite songs regardless of style. All of this can happen within the first 4-6 months of playing.

His influences include Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Guthrie Govan, Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny and Scott Henderson. At the age of 17 he began teaching private guitar and bass lessons to classmates from his neighborhood high school. It was through this initial experience with teaching that he realized he wanted to make music education his career. Since then he has taught private guitar and bass lessons at Naperville Music, Rossi Music, Horizon Music, and the Plainfield School of Music. In addition, he has taught orchestra, guitar, and jazz band at Rolling Meadows High School.
In 2000 Dave graduated from the University of Northern Illinois with a degree in jazz and classical guitar where he studied with world-renowned fusion guitarist Fare

As a private music instructor for the past 15 years, I personally have been granted the opportunity to teach a wide variety of music students. I have taught students ranging in age from 6 to 65. I have taught students from various ethnic and economic backgrounds. I have taught students with various physical, emotional, and learning disabilities. Regardless of the situation, I have always approached each lesson with the idea that every student deserves my best efforts as a teacher. This is because I believe that everyone, regardless of age, cultural heritage, ability, or financial circumstance deserve the opportunity to participate in the best music experiences possible.

I believe that everyone has the ability to learn to play a musical instrument and achieve success on it if they possess the desire to do so. This is because music is a vital part of the human experience. Music has the ability to turn ordinary life experiences into extraordinary ones. Think of everyday events such as: waking up in the morning, commuting to and from work or school, going through the work or school day, going to dinner with a friend or loved one, going to a sporting event, watching a movie or television show, or working out at the gym. Now, picture what these everyday events would be like without the presence of music. Without music, these experiences would be extremely dull and we as human beings would not be able to full appreciate the wonderful moments in our lives.

As a music educator, my promise is to guide my students through the journey of learning to play music so they can experience the joy that it brings into their lives and the lives of others. I promise to help my students realize their full musical potential. I will always treat each student equally with fairness and respect, provide the best possible atmosphere for their growth, and recognize that each student is unique in how they learn and grow.

I realize it was the first lesson but I was a little disappointed that we spend nearly the entire time on housekeeping items, like canceling and re-scheduling appointments. I think that could have been covered with an e-mail or handout. I also thought we spent too much time going over the differences between acoustic and electric guitars - considering my age and background. Would have liked to see him demonstrate what I was asked to practice before the next lesson instead of just being told to refer to the workbook.

I will teach you any genre or style you want to learn, whether that be classical, rock, folk, blues, alternative, and anything else in between. We will go over scales, arpeggios, chords, and soloing that will help your technique and knowledge of the guitar. I will also bring books, diagrams, and sheet music to help with your progress.

About Sebastian
Playing and learning an instrument is beneficial to ones being because it is a great way to express ones self and it's an excellent stress reliever. It's also an amazing feeling playing an instrument you love to listen to.

Learning any instrument could be daunting at first because there is so much to learn and without any help, could feel overwhelming and hopeless. Do not fret because I am here to assist you!
I have studied many music genres all across the board and have a professional knowledge and comprehension of the theory encompassed behind them. Every lesson is crafted for each student in specific areas they have interest in while being done at the students own pace.

My background history:

I immersed myself in music at a very young age, studying classical piano and theory. In my teenage years I took the initiative to le
arn guitar and began by purchasing my own guitar and books and taught myself to play electrical and classical guitar. I followed my passion and continued my studies at Columbia College and graduated with a bachelors degree in Instrumental Performance.

Post-graduation, I have experienced playing in multiple bands, performing in concerts, teaching piano and guitar ranging in all levels at a music center and private home and enjoying some traveling.

Everything I have learned will be reflected in my lesson methodology and will help you learn to play proficiently in a timely manner. I look forward to meeting new prospective students while having fun teaching them music.

About Nina
Teacher with multiple studio locations who specializes in songwriting, indie, classical, folk, metal-hardcore, and open tuning lessons "I have a strong stance on crafting lessons for individuals. A teacher should present a balance of what the student wants to learn, as well as what they should."

teaches from two studio locations (Ohare and Logan Square)

"I will almost always encourage a student to do a songwriting exercise to establish a students understanding of a riff he/she has just played. It helps with learning long run!"

She has been performing shows around Chicago for 2 years as the musical act "Indisposed" and has toured the past year. She has worked with the Lane Tech Guitar Ensemble Program, lecturing in songwriting and composition. She is great with young kids, teaching students as young as 3.

"If you're a studen
t who wants to learn anything from the Pop/Beatles to Spanish/world music, Classical, Punk, Metal, a 'niche' genre, or focus on songwriting/theory. I will provide custom made lessons each week for your learning needs. My method is a mixture of classical training and ear focused. You will always be sure to go home with video recaps of our lessons or a visual aid."

Nina is very talented, I have zero music experience and in just a few weeks I am learning timing, reading rhythm and tab and starting to play some songs I want to learn. She has a real gift for music and teaching and is able to assess how a student learns and can modify the lesson seamlessly to fit that learning style. She is very patient and positive and its clear that Nina really cares about your progress. She's good people.

Music is an essential element of a child's education, whether your training to perform at a campfire or Carnegie Hall. My approach is student-driven and collaborative. I help guide my students through songs of their choice, incorporating skill-level appropriate theory and ear training techniques. This allows kids to develop an understanding of the music they're most passionate for, helping their interest and enthusiasm to grow.

About Claire
My name is Claire and I have been making a living as a touring/gigging musician for the last eight years. I studied music performance and production at Columbia College Chicago. I have played in a variety of styles, both solo and as part of a band. I currently tour with my band, The Lucky Dutch on keys and vocals. My students start their journey learning music of their choice, sparking interest and enthusiasm from the very first lesson. My motto is "Relentless Positivity" and it shows in my lessons. There is never a consequence for a wrong answer or misplaced note and the worst thing that can happen is we play it again. We will work together to navigate this inspiring and often humbling path.

· Singing · In studio
I've got little natural ability but I love to sing, a combination that means I pretty much sing alone in my car. In the dark. (haha) I knew I could improve, but the thought of taking lessons was so frightening that I put it off for decades. I wish I hadn't! Claire has a smart intuitive and always-positive style of teaching, honing in on just what I need to focus on to improve. Something else that helps me is to visualize what's happening when sound is made, and Claire is aware of the physicality behind a voice and describes it well. She's a really great communicator in addition to being a superbly knowledgeable and talented musician. If you've been putting off singing lessons out of fear or whatever, Claire's the teacher for you.

"A good instructor makes all the difference in your playing ability"

Bobby B.

About bob
I can teach students to read music and pursue excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student while stressing the importance of training the ear, which is where the confidence lies .Using methods that enables musicians to play what they actually hear and conceive and want to play rather than bore their listeners with just licks and "notes that work. "I'm not gigging currently, but being versatile , experienced and having formal training helps to make the learning experience easy, stress free and fun, and, that is especially what beginning and aspiring students need.

Some of the musical styles I regularly teach: Rock, Hard Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Soul, R&B, Classical.

Noah taught my son for 2 years before moving out of the area. He was always extremely patient with his students. He taught my son the RIGHT tools that beginners need to know. He didn’t just teach him rock song after rock song. Rather, he explored different scales, different genres, and beginning steps into improvisation. As a college music professor myself, I can absolutely say that Noah excels in any academia arena. Not only does he teach well, he’s a monster player.

When Noah started teaching me on guitar, I had already been playing for a few years and considered myself an amateur. I soon realized there was much more to learn... But within a few weeks, I started to see myself progress as I learned scales, bar chords, strumming methods and more. In classes, he would express a deep understanding of the guitar and would show it through his playing and his enthusiasm in the subject. Overall, Noah was a fantastic teacher and I would definitely recommend lessons to anyone interested in playing, or already knows how but wants to learn more!
