Lessons are tailor-made to the needs of the individual student with a focus on vocal health and proper production. You will learn how to warm-up your voice with exercises geared towards building the instrument, breath support, and tension release. We will work on repertoire with specific techniques for learning and developing a song. For students that are ready or interested, we will work on applications such as working with an accompanist or band, creating arrangements and presentation. Beginners to professionals are welcome. Let’s get started!

About Cathy

Are you ready to express yourself through the gift of song? In my 20+ years of teaching, I have learned that people choose to sing for all kinds of reasons but the number one reason is that they JUST HAVE TO! I have had the pleasure and honor to accompany many singers, from beginner to professional,

After a singing lesson with Cathy I feel more confident in my singing and self-expression as well as taller and more centered. Her lessons are infused with a deep understanding of the anatomy and mechanics of singing as well as with a gift for uncovering your personal expression through song. Meanwhile her classes are relaxed and unpretentious. Cathy creates a warm and caring atmosphere that allows the student to feel confident where ever they are at with their singing.

My lessons with Cathy have been excellent. Not only is she patient, funny, and sincere, she is a natural teacher. Her training, professionalism, and love for music make for an incredibly high-quality experience. She really has a talent for meeting you where you are at with exercises and techniques. I couldn't recommend Cathy more highly for vocal training!

Zelda started my lesson with the very basics, which I told her I really needed to avoid my getting frustrated (as I had when I originally tried to learn the ukulele all on my own). She taught me the names of the different parts of the ukulele and how to hold my instrument. Zelda also helped me properly tune my ukulele, taught me a mnemonic phrase to remember the names of the strings and taught me finger placement for my first two chords . . . all in a half hour lesson. Now I’ll practice strumming and changing between these two chords until it becomes more natural for me and we meet again for next week’s lesson!

Have really enjoyed my singing lessons so far with Zelda! Scheduled them for enjoyment as a destress from work. Booked my next five lessons and am very excited
SALLY
Had a really fun first lesson with Zelda! She provided a really clear structure to the session and I liked the pace. Very positive and upbeat energy, excited to continue <3

"Top notch teacher.

Norman is an excellent teacher. I have been with him for just over a month now and I have came leaps and bounds. It's my first instrument that I have tried to learned and I can read music and play duets with him. He's friendly and very knowledgeable of the material also. I would say that in a couple months I will be dazzling my friends and family. So if your thinking about an instructor then Norman would be a great investment."

"Great teacher for piano, and music in general. I've been taking lessons with him for almost a year now, and he does a great job tailoring lessons to your interests. I've learned a couple jazz songs, some soloing techniques, and song writing techniques with Jordan. He started out the lessons teaching me the things that I needed to know and my last piano teacher didn't teach me. Great for any and all skill levels, plus he's a really cool dude."

"It has long been an unmet dream of mine to learn how to sing - but I was always scared to try- I only sang in the car and sounded pretty awful.

Finally as a middle aged adult I mustered my courage for lessons and called Dan Gardner. Not only has Dan taught me the basics ( and beyond) of proper vocal techniques he has helped me find my own voice.

He's a creative and passionate teacher and has made my lessons very personal; finding ways to uniquely guide me to my goals. He's taught me proper breathing and worked with me to stretch my vocal range. I've been taking lessons with Dan for well over a year. He keeps the lessons fresh and I always feel motivated and challenged.

Because of Dan I can sing and I can honestly say I like the sound of my voice. He's a gifted vocalist, an extraordinary teacher and a wonderful person. I recommend him highly."
