Christian Gospel has many definitions. Whether relying on belting or more traditional methods - gospel is a great musical form. I have taught many students who are interested in increasing their abilities in a gospel setting. As with my other vocal pedagogy teaching methods I work to free the voice, extend the range, increase dynamics and resonance and improve the overall singing performance. The emotional and inspirational content of the music is reviewed and encouraged. My gospel students have a lot of fun and improve their ability to share their dedication in their various church settings.

I began teaching voice as a music teacher over five years ago. I taught in the schools as well as privately. Since then, I have expanded my practice to include speech coaching and life coaching. I use a combination of somatic movement and experiencing (including Alexander Technique), voice pedagogy (a mix of classical and nonclassical approaches), Estill Voice, McClosky Technique, and other methods to help singers and speakers alike improve how they use and relate with their voices.
I help people learn how to use their voices well and experience their voices emerging from the whole experience of their bodies and relationships in order to achieve the results they want and have the results stick. Lesson plans vary depending on the student's goals. Some learning goals from previous students include freeing the voice, speaking from emotional truth, eliminating vocal strain and tension, increasing vocal power, ameliorating performance anxiety, building vocal endurance, preparing for ...

I emphasize developing a strong foundation in technique and ear training that will carry over to any musical genre, from classic rock, heavy metal, jazz, folk, or your favorite radio hits from today. I am dedicated to unlocking every student's musical potential, at any age or experience level, whether the student is just beginning to explore the keyboard or is preparing for an important audition. But more than experience and insight, I teach students to use music as a vehicle for creativity and expression, and develop a sense of true musicianship that goes beyond playing all the correct notes and the right time.
My home studio is equipped with amps, sheet music, instructional books, and music stands.
