David enjoys teaching students from all different backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Whether you are just starting out or a virtuoso shredder in the making, he is happy to teach you! Over all, he is fairly laid back, as long as you practice. He usually combines work with reading off of the treble clef (what he likens to "eating your vegetables." You may not want to do it, but it will make you a healthier musician!) with learning more popular songs (or songs the student says they would like to learn) through tablature and chord charts, depending on the style of the song.
David is also very pro music theory. He usually incorporates music theory into the curriculum in conjunction with the material already being discussed. He is also very knowledgeable about composition/songwriting, and if the student is interested in learning more about this area, he is happy to share what he knows!
David is a successful singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Fairfax, VA. He has a bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in composition from Salisbury University, where he also studied jazz and classical guitar . In the 25 years he has been performing (20 of those professionally) and playing guitar, he has released 4 CDs and written over 200 original songs. He has opened for major national acts like Journey, Maroon 5, Toby Keith, My Chemical Romance, The Used, Thrice, Story of the Year, The Bouncing Souls, Eric Hutchinson, Virginia Coalition and Graham Colton. In the process, he has performed at such notable venues as FedEx Field, Nationals Park, Jiffy Lube Live/Nissan Pavilion, the 9:30 Club, The Hamilton and Rams Head Live.
As a teacher, David has taught in numerous locations in the Maryland area for the last 23 years. H
is students generally range anywhere from 4-70+ years old and come from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of proficiency, from basic beginners to advanced. Some of his students have also gone on to pursue careers in music, others have just learned as a hobby, and some have been somewhere in between the two. All are welcome!
*** Studio Equipment *** Lessons in living room with couches, chairs, cables/amps, as well as extra guitars (acoustic and electric) and a bass guitar, if needed.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can provide amps and stands, etc if needs be. However, if they are already provided for the student's sake/in terms of the student (i.e. I'll bring the equipment needed for myself), this would be ideal.
*** Specialties *** Pop, rock, jazz, blues, classical, metal and funk.
I had to switch the lesson to in-home roughly 3 hours before the scheduled lesson. David was great and accommodating. He gave me a crash course on scales, which I didn't know anything about, and explained them so that I actually started to understand.

My first lesson with David was excellent! He is very patient and knowledgeable. I now have extremely high expectations for learning to play the guitar. I highly recommend him. He gave me a thorough explanation about how guitars are made made, the parts, we tuned the guitar and I am ready to groove!

Feeling very confidant with my choice in instructor!
Acoustic guitar with its range of sound allows for various genres and style to be produced. My history with this instrument allows me to the be the perfect teacher by knowing the instrument front and back and understanding how to get the most brilliant sound from each style and genre.
Daniel is more than just a guitar teacher, his intimate kowledge of an array of instruments, makes his approach to teaching Guitar more immersive to the student without confusing them. His approach is simple and effective, allowing the student to feel comfortable in their abilities and safe in the teaching environment. Daniel’s passion for teaching as well as learning instruments allows him to connect to the student and get them excited to learn.
Daniel’s background in various musical groups and organizations allows him to understand how students may feel the first day of teaching and how to relate the music to their age and goals. Daniel also understand the importance of breaks and stretching between practicing and lessons. Daniel not only teaches students how to play their pieces but how to properly relax hands and take mental break
s throughout the lessons and during practice.
Daniel’s motto isn’t just to teach Guitar but to really involve the student in all aspects of learning guitar, getting the student to engage in the pieces, teaching them how to properly warm up before and after pieces, and how to stretch and approach difficult pieces by allowing mental breaks and keeping the environment light and fun.
My son really looks forward to his lesson with Daniel. The method Daniel uses is working. My son is taking on-line lessons and in just a few lessons he's learned a lot. Daniel is very understanding and explain things clearly.

Daniel is an excellent teacher! Very proffesional, skilled and patient.. He's been teaching my son guitar lessons for about 4 months now and we couldn't be happier with the results!
Anything from Bob Dylan and the Beatles to Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.
Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, age 5 or 500, in my experience, with just a little bit of practice each day anyone can learn to play guitar. Maybe your goal is to simply learn to play your favorite songs or maybe you want to learn to write your own music, improvise, or perform live. Like all good things in life, there are no shortcuts, and learning the guitar takes time and effort, but in return you get the ability to express yourself through music, which is one of the most rewarding skills anyone could ever learn, at any age and in any situation.
My main focus is on helping you reach the point where you are actually playing music, instead of endlessly going over exercises or theory. I want you to be able to play music you would enjoy listening to, because this is when you will start to truly appreciate your accomplish
ment, and progress will start to come much easier.
Together we will discuss your personalized course, based on your goals and situation, and along the way I will provide materials/tools and a summary or a recording of each lesson as needed, for you to take home to work on. Different aspects we'll discuss are technique, chart/sight reading, music theory, ear training, soloing/improvisation, and developing a strong sense of rhythm, most of which will be done through simply learning to play the songs you like. Besides the basics, it's very important to learn how to independently keep challenging yourself, learn from your mistakes and continue growing musically, simply using your ears and whatever information you can find online or anywhere else, even without my help.
Besides teaching you how to play I can also help with finding the right instrument and equipment, provide advice on guitar/amplifier maintenance and setups, as well as recording techniques, or any other practical matters related to playing music/guitar.
Lessons can be either at your residence or at my fully equipped home studio in the Hollywood Hills/Studio City area. In a beautiful and private environment, with plenty of (free/safe) street parking available. Lessons via Skype are obviously available as well. I look forward to hearing from you!
Nils has been amazing to work with. Having used books and some other self teaching methods in the past, I felt stuck and after 1 lesson with Nils I immediately was able to get to the next step. One huge difference from other instructors is that Nils encourages me to learn with music that I like which makes a huge difference when practicing. Nils is extremely knowledgeable and patient, I can't thank him enough for his help and expertise.

Nils is great to work with. He understood where I wanted to focus, and provided great direction. Very nice guy, too.
I have been teaching acoustic guitar for 15 years and have toured the country for 5 playing, recording and teaching acoustic guitar to people of all ages.

Caleb has taught me so much in only five lessons! I now can play 4 songs that I love, and I'm getting a great refresher course on music theory. He's super patient and sets very realistic expectations. I really like that he cared to ask me what songs I liked and would like to learn instead of starting with generic songs like 'twinkle twinkle' because it gave me more motivation to practice and learn. I can't wait to learn more!
I can provide you with the tools and technique required to master the instrument and play your favorite songs.
In 2005 Pablo started his piano studies and also enrolled the “Faculty of Arts and Musical Sciences” at UCA University towards a Music Composition degree.
The following year Pablo started working as a composer for different purposes and media, mostly for the advertising industry, this happened to be his dawn as a music producer.
A year later in 2010, he released his first production “Piezas Meridionales”, a solo project with compositions for classical guitar.
After composing in many varieties of styles, from classical to contemporary and for many different organics; solo instrument works, full orchestras, and more, in 2011 after 5 years at UCA University, Pablo obtained his degree in Music Composition.
Since out of the music school, Pablo has been continuously teaching, composing, recording and producing projects of his o
wn and other music for different purposes. This led him to the creation of his own music production studio “Nautilus Leaf Music”

Jonathan is a great guitar teacher, he's very knowledgeable and does a good job of helping you understand the guitar. A great aspect of Jonathan's guitar lessons is that he shows you how to apply technical information (chords, scales, arpeggios, triads, etc.) to actual music.
Book your next guitar lesson with Jonathan, you will be glad you did!

Mr. Jonathan is the best instructor I’ve had yet, he’s so far has helped me go forward and improve with my guitar skills and just over all is just very calm, funny, and patient type of a guy
As my acoustic guitar student, you will learn any and all facets of guitar playing that interest you: chord strumming, note reading, blues jamming, singing while playing, learning the real guitar parts to your favorite recordings, ... the choice is yours. I hold a B.M. degree from Berklee College of Music and I have been teaching guitar and performing throughout southern New England for more than three decades. I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals and dreams on the acoustic guitar!
Hi! I am a private music instructor offering lessons both in-studio and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music, where I graduated Summa cum Laude, and I have over 36 years' full-time experience as an instructor.
I also have over four decades of experience as a professional jazz, rock, and theater musician. My experience has taken me from nightclubs to concert stages to churches, as well as television studios, radio stations, and many recording studios.
Finally, I am a published author with several titles dedicated to helping musicians becoming the best they can be.
**** MY TEACHING STYLE ****
My teaching style is often referred to as laid-back, gentle, informative, and very supportive. My focus is on enrichment, encouragement, and results.
I don't work with “one-size-fits-all” methods. Ea
ch lesson is customized to make the most of each student's own unique abilities, limitations, preferences, and interests. Whether students prefer, or do better with, traditional materials, playing/singing along with their favorite recordings, improvisation, or anything in between, I am more than happy to accommodate and bring out each student’s best!
I teach real music -- students begin playing music they love almost from day-one. For example, many of my piano and guitar students pride themselves on learning to play every song on the Beatles One album ... playing right along with the CD! Reading, playing by ear, improvisation (jamming), singing while you play ... there are so many ways to play and avenues to explore in music.
**** MY STUDIO ****
My studio is spacious (very spacious – no cubicles here!), well-appointed, and very quiet. Unlike music stores and multi-lesson facilities, there are no other lessons on the premises, no drummers going crazy on the other side of the wall. This means students can concentrate better and learn faster. There is also plenty of room for parents and siblings who may wish to sit in on lessons.
**** STYLES / GENRES ****
I believe that students make the most progress learning music they love and I am very happy to teach every student the style of music he or she loves most.
My most requested genres are: pop, rock, country, blues, classic rock, jazz, and classical. Some students arrive knowing exactly what they want, but most are happy to explore various styles that interest them in search of the perfect fit. It is not at all uncommon for a student to spend part of their lesson polishing up a Beethoven piece or jazz standard, then finish up playing the chords to “Hotel California” along with the CD. Another student might start off their lesson learning a Taylor Swift hit, then move over to doing some blues improvisation. Variety is a wonderful thing and it is highly encouraged!
**** MY STUDENTS ****
Over the years, I have taught students from four years old to eighty-somethings. I’ve taught absolute beginners (most of my students start from square-one), hobbyists, seasoned professionals, even a Grammy nominee and a Grammy winner! Many of my young students have gone on to perform in school bands / jazz bands and/or professionally. In all cases, they acquire a skill that will last for a lifetime and provide joy, enrichment, and satisfaction.

I have just started guitar lessons with Stan and the lessons are going very well. It's exciting to be learning note reading which is something I have always wanted to do. Stan is thorough and clear in his instructions and I look forward to each lesson. I feel lucky to have Stan as my teacher.
September 30, 2017
Stan is very knowledgeable about singing, and he teaches more than just voice lessons. It seems like he looks for the best in you as an artist, and try to take it to another level. I'm a new student of his, and it's been great so far. Looking forward to the weekly lessons.

Stan is obviously both knowledgeable and talented but he is also a very good teacher and will tailor your lessons not only to your ability but also to your own personal goals
I teach you to be a musician, not just an instrumentalist. There is a huge difference. I give you material to learn while doing my best to make it fun as well. I teach you the basics and build on that foundation. You can learn the material as fast or as slow as you want. However, it is not a canned approach because every student is unique and your learning styles reflect that. My goal is your success, truly!
My name is Jerry. I LOVE music and passing my knowledge on to others. I have played many different instruments in many different kinds of bands/groups. They all had one major thing in common, it was FUN! If you are not enjoying learning an instrument you won't want to learn. Lessons can be fun AND educational at the same time. I have had many parents tell me I'm one of the best teachers they have ever seen. (A couple of them were public school teachers themselves). I truly want my students to succeed and I will do everything in my power to help them accomplish that!
Jerry is a wonderful instructor. I wasn’t sure how online lessons would go but they have been seamless and fun and my son is making progress with the bugle. I would highly recommend this format and this teacher. The convenience and quality of instruction are excellent. We are signing up for more lessons and may move on to another instrument once my son feels confident on the bugle.
