I teach my students how to apply fundamental music theory concepts to the guitar. In this way, students learn how to build their own chords, scales, and arpeggios all over the neck.

About Thomas

I grew up playing rock and roll, but as an adult learned to play classical and jazz guitar. I studied music education in college before getting a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Education. I'm currently working towards a Master's Degree in Music Composition as I teach with

I am trained extensively in the Carlevaro technique, but I am also familiar with the Segovia, Shearer, and Parkening approach.

Classical is my specialty and I can teach music from Renaissance to modern and flamenco techniques, as well.

Perry takes the time to explain flamenco and related styles deeply and thoroughly. He also provides detailed micro-scale feedback on hand/arm placement, orientation, range and which muscle groups to engage. But more than the technical, he has an awesome vibe and makes learning guitar quite an enjoyable experience.

I want you or your child to love and enjoy music as much as I do! No two people learn in exactly the same way so I like to work with my students to establish their own personal goals and cater my lessons to those goals. I also am a big advocate of teaching people to play by ear using ear training methods combined with music reading skills and music theory.

About Rusty

I started playing Bass for my church at the age of 17. After graduating High School I Started purusing a degree in Theatre & Vocal Performance at Central Arizona College. I was selected twice to compete in the KCACTF based on performances in musicals and was accepted into the Advanced Jazz Choir in

I consider myself an intermediate guitar player. I know a few chords, and have learned a few songs, but I didn’t really understand how to improvise. Rusty is a great teacher and has really helped me understand various aspects of music theory. I have definitely improved as a guitarist and a musician. I highly recommend Rusty for all skill levels

Awesome teacher, very friendly, fun, and helpful. Really inspired me to keep learning more!

Taught my granddaughter guitar twice a week for around 6 months and he was great. He even helped us pick out a guitar for her birthday that she fell in love with because it was purple. She can even play by ear now! We also loved going to see him perform, he has a fantastic voice an a big presence on stage! She'd still be doing lessons with him now if we had the time!

Matt continues to challenge me. His teaching methods are great - he doesn't just teach techniques, he immediately puts techniques to work by applying them to a song I would like to learn. He is also very good about explaining the reasoning behind certain techniques/habits.

Excellent. Didn’t need so much info about electric guitars since we’re just starting and have an acoustic guitar. Otherwise, excellent.

Dillon is a first rate guitar instructor!

I've taken lessons with Dillon for 5 months, and he has helped me make tremendous progress. I was lucky to find Dillon because my music interests are all over the place. I wanted to learn about fingerstyle, soul, jazz, blues, Latin music, music theory, transcribing for bands. Dillon helped me with all of those. He's the kind of person whose has really studied the guitar and can distill the music from many styles into a few simple ideas for the guitar, and explain those ideas in a memorable way.

I'll continue taking lessons from him, and would recommend him as a teacher to anyone looking for a teacher with charisma.

Dillon is an absolutely amazing teacher. I just started playing the piano a few months ago and he has been instrumental in motivating me and giving me the tools I need to get started. He is always willing to switch it up each lesson depending on how I am feeling that week and I really enjoy working with him. Dillon is extremely talented and dedicated to music which is really great, because starting out can be hard. I would highly recommend Dillon to anyone!
Chris D.
Dillon- was not reliable. He no-showed twice and his phone was not active. Not a good start for beginner student!

"Christian has been teaching our two sons (Age 11 and 8) for the summer and has performed wonderfully as both instructor and motivator. His demeanor is excellent with the kids. And I greatly appreciate that he is teaching them music reading, music appreciation and music theory -- not just how to play the guitar. More importantly, the kids are having a great time."

"I have been taking lessons with Ahmad since June - I was referred by a mutual acquaintance. I bought myself a guitar for my birthday a year ago and realized I needed some outside motivation to play it. While I'm relatively new to guitar and this is my first time taking guitar lessons, I have been drumming for 13 years with private instruction and university courses. I would highly recommend Ahmad. He is inspiring, professional, informative, and patient; a shining example of what a great teacher should be.

Over the past five months, I've already seen significant improvement in both my guitar performance as well as my understanding of the guitar and music in general. Ahmad is very good at balancing the scale between creativity and technique, while never losing sight of what your goals are as a student. As with any learning process, I would suggest you understand your own goals and level of commitment before jumping in to lessons. As I've seen, Ahmad will probably motivate you to practice more than you originally thought, which I really appreciate. It's with practice and strong understanding that I've gotten to a point where I am proud of my abilities on the guitar. Work with Ahmad and I hope you find the same!"

"When I met David, music had not always been a positive experience. As an older student, I am not always able to practice and I do have other things on my mind. He has never scolded me for not practicing, he is very patient with all my musical hangups, and he keeps meeting me where I am at. I may still not be comfortable with music, but I am comfortable with him."

A Little Bit of Country: Easy Classic Country Songs for Guitarists

If you're a fan of classic country music, you've come to the right place. Here, guitar teacher Willy M. shares his favorite classic country songs for guitarists... I grew up in the late '70s and early '80s in the rural Midwest when "Hee-Haw," a country television program, was something that everyone knew about. It was the Grand Ole Opry’s rendition of a high-theatrical experience, and a showcase for classic country artists to play their tunes. Willie Nelson, one of my favorite songwr …
