About Fred
The Number One most primal and crucial element for music is no different than the Number One most essential and crucial element in life in general: the answer is "Time". Just as our lives cannot esca
pe time, what makes really great music is timing!

What defines a music teacher from a music performer? Example from a real life experience: I met my wife on the basis that we both were trumpet performers. She had trumpet lessons from the famous trumpeter Bill Adams, but he did not correct her problem she had to play upper register. She told me how she was really discouraged that she never could play upper register on trumpet; so I being a researcher nerd, I went all over school websites and trumpet journals and every where I could to find the answer for which I did and upon which she finally could play upper register actually with ease now that I found the solution. So again, think hard about what makes a Good Teacher from a performer?

I am an egalitarian pacifist opera, classical & jazz music lover. My mentor was the late, Karl Haas who taught through the NPR program, "Adventures in Good Music". For a singer mentor, I look to John McCormack, John Denver, Tito Schipa, Giuseppe di Stefano, David Gates from Bread, George Benson, Daryl Hall, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Luciano Pavarotti.
