I graduated with a degree in music performance in 2019, and have over 13 years of playing experience and 5 years of teaching experience (ranging from student as young as 5 years old). Outside of music, I am a medical student (M.D.). I enjoy using music as an outlet and teach trumpet lessons because it is my passion!

As a teacher, my goal is to help not only facilitate musical interpretation and technical skills on the trumpet but also help foster a student's life-long love for music. I believe that students should not only progress technically but foster a sense of who they are as performers, regardless of their level.

As a performer, I have played in symphony orchestras, in the pit for musicals such as Pippin, Into the Woods, and The Music Man, and private gigs. I've received training in performance anxiety and overcoming fear of public performance and would be happy to discuss techniques.

About Moriah

I offer individualized lessons and am passionate about helping students' achieve their goals!. I try to provide affordable lesson prices so that financial concerns never inhibit students' ability to progress and reach their potential! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

I utilize Supersonics Piano and Accelerated Piano Adventures curriculum.

I work with each student to help mold their learning experience specifically to their individual needs. We will typically start with basic music theory and then move to exploring sight-reading, backing tracks and lots of fun piano pieces.

I incorporate a variety of fun rhythm patterns in the left hand to help with learning your scales. You'll also learn chords, arpeggios, sight-reading, improvisation, ear training, and basic music theory.

I will provide written individual feedback after each lesson to help remind the student of what we are working on. I hope to have the chance to share my love of music with you!

The greatest jazz artists believe in the feel of the music, which can only be felt if you are singing with PASSION. In these lessons I will encourage you to look beyond tempo and notes on a page, to discover the raw emotion and story telling that comes when you let the music take you and your audience to another time and place. We will study famous jazz vocalists of the past and of today, to draw from their profound performances and discover your own stylistic interpretation of the genre. With an emphasis on musicality and jazz techniques, we will find your voice.

"I learned to play the guitar a couple of years ago and wanted to learn how to add to my arsenal by singing as well along with playing the guitar. I was brutal, tone deaf to the up most degree so I found Kelly online and figured I would give it a go. Kelly is beyond amazing, she makes you feel so comfortable in sessions which was huge because my confidence was low. I have been with Kelly for 5 months now and couldn't be more happy with my progress and confidence to sing. If I could I would see here every day, not only has she help me find my voice and take to where I never thought It could be. My sessions with Kelly are the best part of my week because how fun she makes them. I would recommend Kelly to everyone and anyone from beginner to advance she's truly the best."

"I have been struggling to learn how to play for 35 years and never could find the right instructor for "Me". I have come to the conclusion that I will never play the piano so I have given up on my dream. I felt this was a big let down in my life and I couldn't let myself down by giving up. So I started a search again for an Instructor that will be good for me. My search online took me to takelessons and I was connected with Paul.

I thought, "What do I have to lose, nothing". So I signed up and I have to say after meeting Paul and taking, now 3 lessons, I find that I finally found the instructor for me.

Paul is very attentive to my learning needs and is very accommodating in adopting his teaching style to fit my learning style. I am a slow learner, as well as, a sight learner (in other words, I have to see what one is explaining for me to understand) Paul has taken his time with me to show and explain everything to me.

Paul encourages me to ask questions and he will take the time to answer any question that I have and if I don't understand, Paul will explain it differently to me until I understand. Paul has a vast knowledge in music, Piano and other instruments which is very reassuring to me.

I know I have made the right decision to take my lessons with Paul. I have to say, I will finally be able to achieve a dream of mine that I have had for the past 35 year, and it's all thanks to Paul.

Thank you so much, Paul!!!"

Tanisha is hands down the best vocal coach not only with her knowledge of music and voice but with her willingness to go above and beyond to help her students. She has given me great progress in such a short amount of time, and even takes time out of her day to help me when I need it.
