"I have had a life long love of singing, but always felt that I could be better. I was a little nervous taking my first lesson, but Amber made me feel rig
ht at ease. In the few months I have taken lessons with her, my voice improved so much I still can't believe it. Amber has so much life experience that she knows all the tricks to get you to where you want to go. When I started these lessons, my goal was just to feel better about my voice. Now I find myself thinking that I could perform, and I owe it all to Amber!"

improve intonation, support and embouchure. She helped her with music for school and auditions. I saw a lot of improvement over the year. Best of all, my daughter always looked forward to her lesson."

Will is an awesome guitar teacher, heâs laid back and very patient so as a beginner guitarist I feel comfortable taking lessons from him.
Heâs well educated and can teach all levels. The pace and the curriculum is spot on, not too fast or too slow, challenging yet not too hard. So if you dig metal and want to play or want to step your game up Will is your guy."

"Will is a highly knowledgeable and relatable instructor
With Willâs patience and easy instruction I am slowly learning the instrument that I love. Will
is always prepared for our session with hand outs and a lesson plan. I appreciate that he is willing to take our lesson in a different direction then originally planned depending on my progression. His style is very laid back while still having expectations of your development which is nice because this pushes me to do the work. I highly recommend Will as your instructor."

If you would like to learn the piano while relaxing and having fun, I highly recommend Carolyn as your piano teacher. Ms. Carolyn uses her expertise and experience to adapt materials and lessons to her students' learning style. Her encouraging manner enables her students to really enjoy learning to play.
I have been playing drums professionally for over 15 years. My styles range from traditional jazz, to jazz/fusion, Latin, Brazilian, rock and funk. I have studied music at Diablo Valley College, Southwestern College, and UCSD. I am a founding member of the critically acclaimed James Abbuhl band where I drummed and co-produced the CD "Voyages and Homecomings". My focus will be to get you to play musically. The drums should fit the music, meaning that as a drummer, one should play what makes sense for the music.
*** Lesson Details *** My lesson plans for the beginner will start with the basics:
stick technique, rudiments of drumming, reading drum notation. For the intermediate to advanced we'll focus on what you want to learn while filling in the blanks with all styles of modern drumming. I am a very patient instructor that will make sure that you are comfortable and excited about drumming. My goal is to make you a solid musician that has strong timing, groove, and phrasing. Ultimately, you should sound like a drummer that you'd hear on a professional recording. Your progress will depend on your drive and dedication to your instrument. Let's make it happen today!
*** Studio Equipment *** Living room...open space...for several people...drum kit... metronome
*** Travel Equipment *** I provide a basic drum kit if needed. Students should have sticks, practice pad, snare drum, and the desire to get a full drum set if they don't have one already.
*** Specialties *** I teach jazz: traditional, be-bop, Brazilian, Latin, and fusion. I also teach rock, funk, and metal. I teach primarily match grip, but can instruct on traditional grip if necessary. My specialty would be jazz/fusion and rock/fusion as these styles allow for the most creativity and freedom.

A great teacher!
I love how Dennis has customized my lessons for my taste in music and my goals with the drums. This makes the lessons fun and productive--and it keeps the practicing at home enticing, too. I definitely see great progress in my drumming since I started working with him.

A great teacher!
I've wanted to take drum lessons my whole life and finally got up the courage. Figured I'd be two left feet and two left hands! This made me self-conscious. But Dennis totally put me at ease, and I'm having a great time learning with him. He tailors each lesson for me and the progress I've made on my own while I practiced, and he had me playing my favorite songs right away. I've even learned how to read a piece of sheet after just a few lessons! I was always so intimidated by that part. Dennis is so clear in explaining, and so patient in working through nuances, and careful to get me going on the rudiments right away. He is thorough, responsive, encouraging, and just plain nice. I highly recommend him as a teacher of any age student.
Graduated with a Piano performance diploma from Chula vista School of performing arts division, have taught several students in many fields including but not limited to: Spanish, Piano (beginner-Intermidiate), Vocal Development etc. I am very friendly and personable, but also professional. When students come to me with problems, I will do what ever it takes to bring them to the solution. My motto is, a problem is just another opportunity for you to do your best.
- I have taught/, for 4 years. Ranging in many subjects such as Spanish, English, SAT Prep, Vocal Instruction, Piano Instruction,
and Musical Performance.

*** Lesson Details *** These details change depending on, whether you would like musical training or academic tutoring. Musical:
Music is fun and the lessons should be as well. When it comes to practice I recommend that students do spend time (1/2-1hour daily) outside of the lessons practicing to ensure that they see results. If you choose to practice only while in the lesson you will get better but it will be at a slower pace.
- Start with quick warm ups (these work to increase students fluidity with their instrument) - Work technique - Assign repertoire depending on skill level. - Work on assigned repertoire - Work on technical aspect of the pieces. Your student will learn much more about their capabilities and their instrument as they will learn many aspects of Music Theory.
I teach beginning- advanced piano lessons touching on posture, hand position, rhythm training, sight-reading, expression, and pop/jazz chord charts. If you want to learn how to play songs by ear that you hear on the radio, I can train you how to do that too! Once I feel that you have surpassed my ability to help you grow, I will be happy to pass you on to a more experienced teacher and attend all of your future recitals.
I teach voice beginner-professional, which includes classical repertoire and technique as well as Musical Theatre, Pop, Rock, Standards, Country, RnB,...you name it. The best part is that you will learn to sing in a manner that will not damage your instrument and in fact will work to fortify your instrument.
Academic: - Start with introduction to the standard. - Work on problems with material. - Present new methods to reach a solution. - Work on all assigned work. - Work on future work to give the student an academic advantage.
I am a hard working tutor that will bring the joy of the subject to our sessions of tutoring. I am strict at times, however, some of my students have referred to me as mellow. I will strive to bring your student up to speed and surpass even their own expectations. I love my students, and I want to see them succeed.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, Recording equipment etc.
*** Travel Equipment *** Casio Keyboard Piano, sheet music, and much more equipment as needed.

Steven B is a wonderful teacher! He is talented, always enthusiastic, and extremely motivational! Each lesson is designed specifically for our daughter Kelsey's ability and desired gen
re of music! Kelsey began guitar and vocal lessons in the Coronado studio and is now taking lessons via Skype since our move to Virginia. The lessons are convenient, affordable, and productive. We are excited to be able to still have Steven B as her guitar and vocal teacher! Amy
Steven B fun and patient teaching style rocks. I see how his bright, fun-loving personality, and knowledge of music for piano makes him top choice as my daughter’s music instructor. Anthony
Steven B, a patient, gifted teacher has supervised my studies on guitar with good humor, wit and flexibility. I would recommend him without hesitation to players young and old. Tim
I took voice and piano lessons in Steven B studio and also online via Skype. Both experiences were great, and it was really convenient to do the lessons on Skype. Steven B is an excellent teacher, and he is very patient. I recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to play an instrument or sing! Kat
My time in being instructed by Steven B on piano was a great, informative experience. Ever since the first lesson, he is a very good teacher that clearly knows what he is doing. Mr. Bruce taught me at my own pace, taking time to help me work on skills, especially small details that help me perform much better. He is a very skilled instructor, teaching me pieces from not only music books that he provides, but also the valuable skill of learning by ear, a skill few other teachers bother to touch on. Mr. Bruce has helped on a number of occasions with songs that I am learning on my own and fit time into our lessons to work on them. He is always willing to let the student work on what they like as well as what he gives out. When I once mentioned my liking for jazz, we soon started an in-depth series of lessons into the genre, teaching me much more than I ever knew prior to it. I’ve never felt pressured by my assignments and pieces to bring home, as Steven B knows everyone goes at their own pace and can take anytime from a few days to a few weeks to learn a song. My time with him was a very fun and informative time that I thoroughly enjoyed. Michael
My son has taken guitar and voice lessons with Steven B for the last year. We are pleased with classes and the improvement we've seen in comparison to a previous instructor. Mr. Bruce is punctual and extremely respectful of the time and money it takes to provide lessons. He can be counted on to be both friendly and professional. He comes prepared for lessons and expects the same of his students. If you are serious about learning and improving your skills, we highly recommend him. Christina
I came to Steven B as a beginner in piano. I took the piano lessons on my keyboard. Steven B got me into music I really enjoy! In only three months, I was able to play and sing a song I love titled “Angel” from Sarah McLachian. My friends really enjoyed my performance! Katrina
I just wanted to say Thank You and let you know how much I appreciate all the information and help you have given Mikey. You helped him form a great hobby that he loves to do and the family loves to hear. He has come so far since his first lesson and I am happy you kept the Piano lessons interesting for him. Thanks again for being a kind, great teacher to him. Cheryl

I take Piano and Vocal lessons from Steven for almost two years now, and have no complaints about him. He pushes me to do better with my work and helps me understand things that I couldn't with past teachers. On piano, he helps with my learning by ear, as well as reading music. On my vocals, he helps me perfect my singing with exercises and keeping an inner glow to my face that most successful singers have.
I extremely recommend trying him out!
Adrián : Born on October 17, 1975, and raised in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, México, Adrian T. grew up surrounded by the traditional music of Central America from Danzón, Boleros and Rumba, to Son and Mambo. Adrián began developing his musical ability starting at the age of eleven. He was inclined to play the tenor saxophone and the flute with an understanding of classical music and a distinct attraction to jazz, and five years later chose to take on the clarinet. His grandmother, a "Danzón Nut" according to Adrián, urged her grandson in that direction, but the young player was adamant towards a new
found paragon for himself: John W. Coltrane.
2001 was a year that would have a profound impact on Adrián’s music. While pursuing Sociology and Music Studies at The University of Texas, El Paso, he learned more about the transmission of these ideas and theories through music. In an effort to track the development of marked philosophical and spiritual traditions observed by ancient cultures, Adrián arranged to meet, learn, and creatively collaborate with musicians involved with traditions originating from West Africa. One of his primary interests was the Yoruba tradition (predominantly out of Western Nigeria), the ancient African religion underlying Santeria (Cuba and Puerto Rico), Candombl (Baha, Brazil), Vodun (Haiti), and Cu Taan (México).
THE MARS VOLTA
In 2004 Adrián joined The Mars Volta recording the studio album, “Frances the Mute”, and continues to work with the band (as a full-fledged member) on subsequent albums (“Live Scabdates” 2005, “Amputechture” 2006, “The Bedlam in Goliath” 2008) and all of The Mars Volta side projects (movie scores, DVD‘s, etc.). The Mars Volta is comprised of guitarist Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez, lyricist/vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala, bassist John Alderete, guitarist Paul Hinojos-González, drummer Thomas Pridgen, percussionist Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, and keyboardist Isaiah “Ikey” Owens.
Through his work with The Mars Volta, Adrián went on to earn his first Grammy Award in 2008 for the “Best Rock Performance” category with the song "Wax Simulacra". Working with The Mars Volta has enabled Adrián to gain further exposure as a multi-instrumentalist, particularly in Europe.
Television performances of The Mars Volta include (but not limited to): The Henry Rollins Show, The Tonight Show with David Letterman, and The BBC. THE STUDIO/TOURING MUSICIAN
Adrián ’s solid performance and versatility have allowed him many opportunities to collaborate with a vast array of professionals worldwide. Adrián has shared the stage and/or recorded with the likes of Larry Harlow, Antonio Sánchez, Bob Sheppard, Edwin Livingston, Erik A. Unsworth, Dr. Willy Hill, Dr. Donald G. Wilkinson, Damo Suzuki, Lenny Castro, Money Mark Nishita, Los Lobos, EMI Gospel Artist Smokie Norful, Lisa Papineau (Big Sir), Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez Quintet/Group (Se Dice Bisonte, No Búfalo 2007, music scoring for the Guillermo Arriaga Jordan and Jorge Hernández Aldana film on El Búfalo de la Noche on La Neta Films/Naco Films performed by The Mars Volta), Hans Glawishing, John Beasley, Brian Lynch, Shaila Dúrcal, John Frusciante, Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders), Ken Schalk, Juliette Lewis, Nuriya Michan, Deantoni Parks, Candiria, The Memorials, Trevor Hall, Oscar Stagnaro, Billy Ray Cyrus, David "Fuze" Fiuczynski and Freedom Bremner of Screaming Headless Torsos, Pete Escobedo, Oskar Cartaya, Hadrien Feraud, and Luis Conte among others.
Adrián 's professional involvement with the music industry has continued to develop under his own publishing and record label, EL REGIMEN Music BMI, leading T.R.A.M. and as a full flesh member of one of the strongest lineups in funk music The Earful. This dignified and prolific musician collaborates with an eclectic number of international musicians, tours internationally on an intense and annual schedule, all the while teaching workshops to numerous school districts and universities around the world.
It's extremely rare to come across a band that flips the script of conventionality, throwing caution to the wind. The debut effort from T.R.A.M. does just that, while blazing a trail of creativity quick to turn heads throughout the world. This unit will easily be referred to by many as a “Super Group”. However, the members of this dynamic unit aren't in this for any reason other than to use it as a platform to further express their art without limitations or any preconceived notions.
T.R.A.M. is comprised of such renowned and musically proficient artists as Adrián (The Mars Volta) on saxophone, flute, bass clarinet and percussion, Javier Reyes (Animals As Leaders) on guitar, Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders) on guitar, and Eric Moore II (Suicidal Tendencies) on drums. This is a group of likeminded individuals that are naturally gifted with the collaboration of their unique talents resulting in something truly amazing. Their much anticipated debut album, “Lingua Franca”, was released February 2012 through Sumarian Records.
“Tosin Abasi and I were originally introduced by a mutual friend, Raanen Bozzio (Terry Bozzio's son), summer of 2010. This meeting also served as my first introduction to Animals As Leaders and Javier Reyes. Since then, Abasi, Reyes, and I have developed a great relationship. We got together almost every day to try out ideas, and after a month we had already formulated a majority of the record. At this point we contacted Eric Moore, an incredible drummer and the most joyful person to be around, and soon everything we had envisioned rhythmically came together on our first meeting/recording session (at the Farias Productions Studios) on what is now T.R.A.M…
I never know how people will respond to our music, I just never know! My goal is to try to instill a strong feeling or energy in people and I feel that collectively we achieved this goal tenfold with this new project. We all have a great enthusiasm and desire to perform this material live and see this band further develop. We look forward to hearing what you all think of it.”
A concept ensemble with its roots in west coast music, TRANSIENT performs original music inspired by the tradition of Jazz and Chamber Music on today's world. This genuine ensemble led by saxophonist Adrian (The Mars Volta, T.R.A.M. and The Earful) followed by cellist Artyom Manukyan (Peter Erskine and Draco Rosa), trumpeter Mike Cottone (Everette Harp, and Rick Braun), and on the drums the powerful young lion Tim "Figg" Newton, brings a collection of original compositions written as a story line of work of solid experimental material and improvisation. Translating the live performance into the world of sound,
TRANSIENT exists as a unique new voice comprised of some of creative music's fearless players on the globe.

I've known Adrian for many years, and you won't find anyone more dedicated to the Saxophone and Flute - I mean what you see (and hear) is what you get! He's in it for the long haul and willing to share his vast amount of experience.
I haven't taken continuous lessons from him, but I had the pleasure of hiring him to play and he's jammed with a bunch of my friends who play professionally. Adrian has been and always be someone I look up to to always provide tips and technique improvement suggestions. He does this with a true humble spirit. He meets you wherever you live musically and builds upon what you've already got.
Adrian is a talented Musician who can instantly engage an audience and keep them connected through his Music. If I had more time, I would take lessons from him regularly. He has so much to share musically and does it with a giving spirit.
Keep up the good work Adrian! I know the future is bright for you and all of your Students!

Adrian has been a major part of my knowledge of woodwind composition. As a song writer/artist, i've hired Adrian to help score and perform on many recordings for me.
Adrian plays all saxes, flute and clarinets and i can't thank him enough for his
wisdom and instructional guidance in gaining a broader understanding for how to make those instruments work in my music.
