I received my Master's Degree in Vocal Performance (with piano minor) at Manhattan School of Music in 1990 and have been performing and teaching voice professionally ever since! I spent 11 years in NYC, and sang professionally with the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, Westchester Broadway Theater, and many more jobs such as recording and radio commercials.

I was teaching online voice lessons well before the pandemic and have figured out many ways to make a very successful session out of it all. I can make tracks for you to sing with and have access to gobs of literature. As a matter of course we work on breathing, tension reduction, sensations and vibrations, style, and ear training if necessary.

I love (!!!) working with children as well as adults, and have at present 25 students at the local academy I teach for, ranging in age from 6 to 75 years old.

While I currently sing cabaret/theater style in my own career, my background is classical. I am a member of N.A.T.S. ...

Nothing but resounding praise for Sandy! We highly recommend her as a music and voice teacher. Our daughter loved working with Sandy in-person and refused to consider another teacher when Sandy moved to another area of the country. We were thrilled when Sandy agreed to begin teaching online lessons!

She's a gifted musician/performer, a patient teacher and really tunes in to our daughter's unique qualities that keep her engaged and developing skills. She's great at identifying music pieces that match her students! She's an amazing listener and knows how to draw out the best in her students! Thanks Sandy!

Sandy is an all around teacher—what do you want to learn? Broadway? Performance vocals? She taught my talented daughter for years—piano and voice. She’s positive and oh so talented. She’s wonderful w kids and adults. And a serious theater veteran herself—who still writes and performs. Can’t recommend more!!

Broadway Singing is my passion! I've played piano on Broadway for 4 shows (Wicked, Mean Girls, Motown, and The Color Purple). And yet, teaching singing is just as rewarding.

I focus on technique (low breaths, engaging support muscles, steady stream of air on the exhale...), pitch (the first step is to hear it!), and musicality - how to express not only the dynamic contours of the music, but also how to tell the story compellingly.

I also love working on Acting While Singing. So often, performers will act wonderfully until their songs, then drop out of character once they start singing. Many directors have said "I'd rather have an actor who can't sing than a singer who can't act". To improve this, we'll look at how to use a lyric specifically and personally in order to stay in the moment.

I would love to help you discover yourself inside the songs you sing. Whether your goal is Broadway, community theater, or simply to have fun (all equally noble aspirations), I welcome the ...

Hi, I'm Zak! I'm guessing you're here because you love singing. Well, so do I! Small world. My experience ranges far and wide: I've played piano on Broadway for Wicked, Mean Girls, Motown, and The Color Purple; I've music directed middle school productions of Zombie Prom and the new Beatles

Zak is an amazing teacher for those who want to take their singing to the next level. His methods help the singer to greatly improve their ability to express intent and feeling while singing, among other things. To put it simply, Zak's teachings make the difference between good singers and fantastic singers!
Eliana Joftus
Zak is a super great instructor and very supportive and kind! I had a great time working with him!

I would highly recommend Zak if you are looking for a piano instructor. He is not only a very talented musician, but an exceptional teacher. My son was a beginner piano student at 11 years old and Zak was able to create lessons that not only held his interest but had him begging for longer and more frequent lessons. Zak took input from my son about what he was interested in and tailored his lessons to meet my sons needs. My son learned more than just how to play songs. Zak taught music theory, cord progressions, proper posture on the piano bench and so many other things that go into playing beautifully. My son is interested in composing and Zak, as an accomplished composer was able to give him invaluable insight and feedback. We feel very lucky to have had him as a teacher and highly recommend him.

I have been a teacher for the last 10 years and a musician all my life. I have experience with all ages and abilities; learning styles and interests. Singing is one of the most intimate forms of self-expression so we focus first on creating a safe space and student-teacher relationship. Together, we will identify student goals and interests and identify appropriate, healthy singing habits and musicianship as our focus. I believe student engagement and participation in what and how we learn is vital for success. While I have a lesson structure that we begin with, it does not always fit every students learning style and needs. I spend a lot of time thinking about how to best support students individual growth. My hope is that each student feels empowered and supported to have their own voice heard.

Sara is very supportive, sweet and patient. She never gets mad if you make a mistake. She works with your interests and helps find songs that work well with your voice and songs that challenge you. Her instructions are effective and easy to understand. She and is talented which is inspiring and we have become better singers because of her.

Sara is the absolute best. She is a skilled musician (and theater pro) herself and is an incredible teacher. She has worked with both of my kids and I can say she is excellent with any age. She clearly loves what she does and is passionate, flexible, talented and truly special. She really takes the time to know my kids style when it comes to voice but to also actually KNOW them. I cannot say enough about her and you should sign up to work with her now!

"Anna was my voice teacher at NYU Steinhardt in the Vocal Performance program. In addition to her warm and welcoming personality, she was a tremendous help in transforming my voice for the better! She is wonderful at helping to visualize different parts of the voice as an instrument, and she not only helped me to expand the flexibility and ease of my head voice, but also helped me explore my lower register, while seamlessly bridging the gap between the two."

"Can't say enough good things about James Moore as a voice teacher. He has helped me so much!! He is kind and patient and always knows what to say to help you understand how to sing. He is very knowledgeable about vocal technique and very quickly diagnosed the areas where I needed the most work. He helped me with voice placement as well as breathing the proper way to support my tone. Getting over my break was always a challenge, but Jim knew exactly how to get me to understand the concept and showed me just how to work through that difficulty. I highly recommend anyone, regardless of the style of music you want to sing, to take lessons from Jim. You will get control of your voice. You do have to practice though :)""
