Lessons are fun. My philosophy is that students should have music in their lives and benefit from the lessons they take now for years to come. Learning to play a musical instrument will help students with math skills, study habits, and develop a skill that will last for a lifetime.
After 3 months students will understand the fundamentals of their string instrument, know how to care for their instrument, warm up properly, be able to read and play introductory passages. After 6 months the student will have learned basic music theory, how to read music, and have advanced through playing multiple songs.
Music is the biggest passion in my life. I love being able to share that gift with my students, and look forward to their progress as much as my own. I continue to grow and develop as a musician, and love connecting with people through music. My students all learn to love and appreciate music, th

It is a fascinating subject to know one self and the reactions to an emotional situation such as an audition that flood our minds with feelings. I guide you and give you a solid ground under your feet.
You will be prepared to face anything out there or within yourself. My experience as a performer goes back to age 10 when I first walked out onto a concert stage professionally. My family performing, professional musicians with international acclaim and my many illustrious teachers who were all great performers with historic accomplishments to their names - taught me all you need to know and become aware of to succeed calmly and happily.
I have performed on Live Television Broadcast, raised funds on live TV for Symphony Orchestra, hosted and interviewed guests on my three radio broadcast programs for over 10 years on two different radio stations including NPR. I have given lecture, Salon Recitals, Master Classes on four continents to thousands of people. I have worked ...

He created a welcoming environment in our online lessons that made it easy to be vulnerable and get right to working on new skills.
I highly recommend for others looking to better understand their voice and communication style, and learn to hone them.
Joseph’s technical ‘short cuts’ are amazing! He illustrates ways for your hands and your mind to work that are tailor made for you. Learning from him is so fun it seems almost effortless.
The way Joseph teaches allows you to develop at your own pace. The atmosphere is always relaxed yet everything moves along quickly.
At the open classes I attend, his other students are progressing very rapidly too. After each class, we share our impressions. The mood is elated because it feels like we stepped back in time and into history.
Joseph often quotes inspired wisdom of his historic teachers in our lessons. He is a great inspiration on his own with great musical insights.
I’m playing Beethoven and Chopin works I never thought I could approach at this stage of study, with great depth of understanding. I now play with greater passion and skill, get compliments from everyone I play for, and no longer worry about playing in public.
I look forward to each and every lesson with Joseph. His encouragement and support makes learning so rewarding! Anyone who finds this musical treasure is a lucky person and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Students often ask about the difference between major and minor. These terms have two applications in music theory. One use relates to chords (harmony). A second use relates to scales (modes). Both are related. To understand these concepts deeper, you have to first understand intervals. An interval is the space between two notes. Intervals help to define the relationship and interaction between notes. This also includes the formation of chords. Third Intervals The smallest inter …
