Currently, Anne is the keyboardist in a rock band and a jazz band. Trained as a classical pianist, her repertoire includes classical, Broadway, Celtic and popular music. She has performed in both formal recitals and informal gatherings.
In April 2008, Anne debuted her own compositions in recital. Several piano students have performed her music as well, both as "teaching pieces" and in recital. Recent compositions include music for piano students and piano arrangements for Celtic and popular music. She is also a songwriter, co-writing blues and TropRock (Jimmy Buffet style) tunes.
*** Lesson Details *** It has been said that Beethoven cautioned his students that playing without emotion, without being part of the music, without caring, is unforgivable. My goal is to help you express your emotions through playing the piano.
ing out the emotion in the music, it is important that the lesson plan is tailored to each individual. It is equally important to pursue the music that interests the student the most.
It is fun to play the piano and it is a skill that can be learned - or re-learned - at any age.

I love performing and teaching! I've performed at multiple venues in New York City, including Carnegie Hall and Off-Broadway. I studied piano, opera performance and musical theater at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and acting at Primary Stages. I'm playing a nurse this season on New Amsterdam and have many other film and TV credits! These qualifications, my positive spirit and belief in my students have yielded outstanding results in their musical and theatrical accomplishments.
I've been teaching voice, guitar, acting and piano lessons for the past six years, as well as coaching students for specific auditions (school plays, national tours, honors choir auditions). Let me aid you in achieving your dreams!

My first vocal teacher and the best!
Ms. Rachel was an amazing vocal teacher! We would always start off with simple and fun warm-ups, breathing techniques, and would practice singing songs from musicals. My first couple lessons she taught me how to sing I Feel Pretty from West Side Story and we both had so much fun with it! After a little while we learned Cups from Pitch Perfect and then we got into the Vaccai book and I learned a couple songs from there. Overall Ms. Rachel was the best! She even offered to Skype a lesson with me since she moved. She cared about me and always helped me improve my voice in every way she could. I love her!

Practicing with Vandi improves my skills more quickly than practicing alone and she is very good at not only answering questions via the internet tutoring but through phone as well. She is very prompt and consistent and provides easy to read materials for my skill level. I'm very happy with my purchase through Take Lessons so far. This is my first time using this website and it is my third lesson as I am new to piano. I have already recommended this site to other people.
Hi! My name is Amy Gruber and I have been teaching voice since 1995! I am here for my students in every way. If you have a goal, I will get you there. If you are unsure, then I can guide you to something greater. My major instrument is voice, and I continuously study, hone, and polish my instrument to keep myself current, so I can be the best teacher I can be for my students. I have studied voice with Kathleen Blixt, Edgar Dittemore and other well regarded voice teachers, as well as Opera with Julia Koci, a highly esteemed Opera singer from Austria. You can catch her at the Volksoper if you are ever in Vienna! I am currently continuing my Opera studies with Cynthia Balme at the Balme Music Studio in Middletown NJ. I am a certified music teacher k-12 and have a BS in Music Ed with a concentration in vocal studies from Hofstra University
and an MS in Foundations of Ed also from Hofstra. I sang professionally as well as taught general music, voice, and choral groups while employed by the Brentwood music Department on Long Island for several years before having kids. I now teach general music, voice programs and private voice instructions at the Victorious Voices Studio, located in Toms River, New Jersey :)
Victorious Voices Performing Arts studio offers a wide variety of programs for all ages. In my studio, I use eclectic styles and teaching methods. My Philosophy is to use your body, mind and soul in music. I really try to cater to the needs of each individual student.
Hello there! I hope that in reading this you will find some valuable information in choosing the right teacher for you!
I am an opera singer by trade and I also have experience performing in contemporary bands, musical theater, solo piano concerts, as well as classical voice concerts.
I hold a Bachelor degree in piano and voice, a Master's degree in Vocal Performance, and an Artist Diploma in Opera.
I enjoy teaching as much as I enjoy performing because it's a way to share what I have learned and plant a seed in students who may want to take music seriously or just as a hobby.
I teach in a variety of styles pop, musical theater, and classical and I'm always open to what you as a student want to get from your lessons and tutoring. I've had a private studio for the past 5 years and have experience teaching in a grade sch
ool and collegiate levels of music. My students have ranged from 5 years old to Adult Senior age. All lessons and goals are targeted to your specific needs and desires and I'm always happy to be that guide who will help you perform in a healthy and enjoyable way.
Zaray has been my teacher for over 4 years and has been amazing! She taught me mostly everything about music and helped me get accepted into one of the best schools in Florida. I took singing lessons and piano lessons that helped me learn a lot, because of her I was able to preform in new York and attend the All-state elementary choir. Overall an excellent teacher, I really recommend!

Zaray has done such great work. She really takes the time to diagnose the problem with her stellar ear and to prescribe the best exercises to enhance the vocal mechanism. Not only does she have an abundant technical vocabulary, she really personalizes her style of teaching for each student. Apart from being technically a wizard, she is one of the most joyful people to be around. Her calm demeanor and easy going self really makes a student of every level comfortable. I highly recommend!!
Hello, my name is Matthew and I’m an experienced guitar teacher and performer. I play all sorts of styles from rock, jazz, hiphop, to even the most modern music today. I’m the most easy going teacher you can find, but I can also help you succeed beyond your expectations. All I want is my students to know that they can achieve anything they intend out of these lessons. In addition, I have experienced in the music business and can provide you guidance for your goals with music. I look forward to hearing from you.
I hold a degree in Jazz Studies from the Jacobs School of Music, where I focused especially on Afro-Cuban music, thanks to the tutelage of Latin Jazz giants Michael Spiro and Wayne Wallace! My jazz background also gave me rigorous training in music theory and history.
My performance career is highly diverse! You like folk? I’ve played with Chicago’s beloved Al Scorch and Della Mae’s guitar star, Courtney Hartman. You like hip-hop? I play and record with artists at Classick Studios, where Chance The Rapper, SZA, and No Name make albums. Indie rock? Part of what got me into bass was underground/DIY scenes—I love playing a good basement show! How about jazz? I’ve done everything from standards gigs at hotels to composing for experimental groups like The Liberation Music Collective.
I’ve also had the pleasure to play with musicians from ov
er 20 countries. One of the most rewarding experiences of my life was being a Fellow for OneBeat, a program run through the U.S. State Department that brings together international musicians to compose, record, and tour together. I have learned so much about the power of music through my relationships with artists from all corners of the globe.
I believe in “Occam’s Razor” bass playing – finding a simple, elegant solution to the “problem” at hand, whether that “problem” is finding a good fingering for a fast-moving melody, finding a tasteful yet interesting bassline for a funk groove, or improving your right-hand speed so you can finally play that one Tool song you’ve always loved. The “Occam’s Razor” approach builds your instincts and helps you become a solid, expressive bassist that everyone wants to play with!
No matter where you are in your musical development, I can be your ally. I have experience teaching all ages and experience levels and can help you go deeper in whatever music lights you up. I can offer advice about musicianship too – how to start a band, how to rock an audition for your school’s jazz ensemble, or how to make the most of a recording session.
Bass is a physically demanding instrument, and over my career I have recovered from multiple injuries. I am committed to helping you develop healthy technique that prevents and manages injuries and adapts to your physical conditions. I try to offer compassion AND solutions to students who struggle physically with their instrument or face health challenges. I’ve been there too, and I’m here to help.

"I took lessons with Rachel through the secondary lesson program at Oberlin College and it was a great experience! What I loved was that her teaching goals
extended beyond how I sounded in the lesson itself, but also focused on trying to give me the tools for being able to properly and productively practice on my own. I also love her emphasis not just on proper technique and musicality, but also on expression."
There is one thing that unites all singers, regardless of age, ability, genre, or professional status: the feeling of impending doom that descends as auditions approach. Even if your ambitions are fairly modest, and don’t extend far beyond finding a fun choir to join, there's a good chance you will have to at learn how to prepare for a singing audition at some point.
However, you can do a great deal to improve your chances simply by preparing yourself adequately. Think of a “successful” …
