Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from DePaul University
The musical and academic success of my students is my number one priority! Each person's voice is unique and special to them, no one else has the voice that YOU have; therefore, I approach each and every student differently by tailoring a very personal and individual lesson plan for each of my students. I take a very holistic approach and encourage my students to use their whole body when singing to maintain a healthy instrument.
Monika is a soprano studying classical vocal performance at DePaul University and is currently available to teach lessons at your home or online over Zoom, FaceTime, or Skype with a high-quality microphone and camera so the student can have the best video and audio experience. Monika has been sin

I am a published playwright and award-winning screenwriter. With over 30 years of experience writing plays, screenplays, and comedy sketches, I am focused on helping you find your voice and learn the fundamentals of three act structure. Are you unsure how to format a script or what opportunities there are for writers? I can answer your questions. Have you written a script that needs feedback? I'll read it and give you comprehensive notes. Wherever you are in your development-- beginner, intermediate or advanced-- I will hone in on your strengths and weaknesses; I'll give you assignments and feedback that can help you get to the next level. I taught sketch comedy writing at The Lee Strasberg and Theatre and Film Institute in New York City and I have helped many writers with their plays and screenplays. Most recently, I won multiple awards for a spec script I wrote for the TV Show “Master of None.” I just finished a full-length play and I am gearing up to host a reading-- online-- of a ...

My ultimate "dream come true" would be to have the opportunity to be part of a comedic writer's group. Imagine being part of Sid Caesar's writing sessions with Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, Carl Reiner et al! How I would have loved to be part of that community!
Now I live in an "active retirement community". None of those comedy dreams have come to pass.
One night (after watching a marathon portion of The Kaminsky Method on Netflix) I felt ready to explore my own creative potential for the theater community. I found "Take Lessons" online, and saw that Jeremy had devoted years accumulating both academic and practical experience in the world of performing arts.
My own private hope was that if I could somehow connect the art with the craft, and thereby discover ways to both overcome what blocked me and at the same time have fun, then I might open the possibility of unlocking a medium of expression for my own imagination, and thereby find some means of participating with other kindred spirits in theatrical projects.
Jeremy agreed to meet me where I was at. He was willing to custom tailor his lessons to my own idiosyncratic needs. We agreed to one class a week with a ten week commitment. After every one hour class I have a whole week to process what we have opened up in the previous session.
After my third lesson I find that Jeremy's flexibility and personal attention has provided me with the freedom to participate in structuring my own advanced learning experience. I have already, with just two private lessons, produced two short scripts by transcribing our recorded online improvisations. I don't know yet how others will respond to these skits. I think they are both funny.
Perhaps one of the amateur theater groups here in the retirement community will be interested in producing my skits as a montage. Then I can observe how my words come across to an audience. Believe me when I say I appreciate how rare and valuable such an experience is. As any mature artist will tell you, our culture is sorely lacking in places to try things out, especially when your creations are likely to bomb.
Honestly, I don't know anywhere else I could have found such a unique opportunity. Jeremy is knowledgeable, understanding and supportive. I highly recommend him as a teacher for any kind of performing art.

I have been playing guitar for 21 years. I make lesson plans based on each individual, so I don't teach every one the same boring songs or use the same regiment with everyone. I want to teach you what YOU want to learn.
I'm a self taught guitarist who has been playing for 20 years. I have played professionally in numerous bands and ensembles ranging from jazz to folk to rock, and I've been writing music for the same length of time. Piano is the general instruction of the instrument. I have taught lessons for over 23 years where I have been traveling to the homes.
The students learn not only the general concepts but they also learn Theory which is the understanding of what lies underneath the music itself.
I have an easy going personality with the students learning how to play the piano, but I also want the students to work to their full potential.
The students learn not only the basics of the piano itself, but they also play fun songs, such as popular songs that they know.
I am a graduate of Northern IL University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. I have 22 years of teaching experience where I have traveled to the homes. Students enjoy my passion that I have with the instrument. I started teaching in 1991 and have been teaching several students since t

I have been sewing for more than 20 years and take a practical approach to learning sewing. I like to have students start with a project that is going to be achievable.
