As the amazed grand-daughter of David Smason, a successful vaudeville Orchestra leader, I have enjoyed many years of educational and professional experiences as an actress, teacher, and director in venues of all sizes. Besides performing leading and supporting roles in over 30 productions, including Suzie-" Wait Until Dark", Rosemary- "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying", Miss Mazeppa-"Gypsy", Lalume " Kismet", I also performed and/or staged several original reviews such as SF's " The Distractions", " On Being Female", and " The Van Spronsen Variety Showcase". Directing/coaching "The Sound of Music", multiple productions of "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and "Your a Good Man Charlie Brown" leading orchestras, choirs, and workshops for churches, schools and communities has given me a strong appreciation for artistic collaboration. earning a BA in Theater Arts from SFSU, all ages and levels, comic to tragic, specializing in musicals, I have successfully ...

Are you looking to improve your tone, delivery and/or ability to control your nerves? I can assist you in this area. As vocalists, speaking is very much a part of our job. The ability to approach an audience with confidence and to keep their attention is imperative and something that we do often in performance.

Lauren is a good balance of stern and silly. She has a great sense of humor, so I feel comfortable singing & playing for her (even if my skills are limited and sound like a dying horse). However, that doesn't mean you just goof around. She takes it very seriously and pushes you as a student. I couldn't recommend Lauren more.
Five stars.
