For my first lesson, I found Catherine to be personable, encouraging, and highly skilled. She listened to my goals, assessed my present ability (I had tried to teach myself piano. I failed.) and worked through some exercises with me to improve my skills. I found the lesson challenging but not overwhelming. I'm looking forward to my next lesson with her.

so much fun!

This teacher has a great time with her students as they learn keyboards, piano, theory, singing and basic skills on percussion and woodwind instruments. She can show beginning guitarists the chords and strums, too. We perform with the teacher at different places for youth group events, recitals, even musical theater shows. I hope I keep learning music the rest of my life.

I have over 5 years experience with the speaking voice, studying Fitzmaurice "tremors" and Skinner's "distinctive speech". I will teach you how the consonants carry the action of the word and the vowels carry the emotion, as well as how to use this to explore the choices an actor can make with the text.

My son has been working with him for over a year and we couldn’t be happier. He is very professional and dedicated. Not only he has an extraordinary talent as an actor but his teaching approach and communication skills are marvelous. Mr. Capote has greatly improved my son acting growth and skill refinement. He helped him to prepare for the acting college audition process with great response of my son being accepted to over 10 of the top acting programs in US including Carnegie Mellon University.

I took a lesson with Tom. I really wanted to try him out because of all the great reviews he has, it definitely didn't fall short of my expectations. He was attentive, friendly, not judgelmental and a master of his craft. Thank you for all your tips.

It came to me again - that feeling that I could do anything. I know that's an exaggeration, but feelings of personal accomplishment lend a lot to taking future risks. Our dance team was under Tom's tutelage for four hours broken into two sessions and I was changed. He had persistence yet patience. He somehow gave everything enough attention, but kept us moving forward to use our time together the most wisely. He adapted to our unique and unusual dynamic and group personality, adopting our language while he taught us his.

My private lesson with him was special too. I remember feeling a bit vulnerable and self conscious in the first few minutes, wondering how we would connect on how to help me. I was put at ease as he listened to my thoughts, partnered with me in a quick exploratory dance, took the reins, and led me through an educational sixty minutes. I liked the way he made the specifics he was conveying accessible through brief relatable personal examples. I've had many people speak to me about frame, but the way he approached it and me was the way that has me doing better (I think!) I found Tom to be incredibly professional, personable, respectful and helpful.
I would certainly benefit from more time in his care.

Tom has a way of teaching that is easily understandable and make sense almost right away all the time. And this is awesome because I have no dance experience. He is just an all-around nice guy that is fun and knows what to say so that the lesson clicks for you he knows how to make you get it.

"Da-Rell did a great job teaching me how to dance in advance of a family wedding. I already had an instructor for ballroom dances, but needed someone to loosen me up for the club (rock, pop, hip-hop) dancing which represented a large part of the repertoire of the band's program at the wedding. After 5 hours of lessons I felt confident both using the moves that DaRell had taught me as well as even inventing some of my own along the way. DaRell did a great job on a difficult assignment, outside of the normal repertoire of most dance lessons."

"I have really enjoyed my time spent in workshop classes with Jan! She is a very talented teacher and knows how to get things out of people that they didn't know they were capable of.

Her techniques and exercises are amazing to watch as the intended result will come out of the student that she is working on. I learned just as much watching other students in the class go through the techniques as I did during my own performances and critiques.

She has a beautiful presence and I instantly felt comfortable around her like I'd known her for a long time. I think that is so important to feel that trust and comfort when opening yourself and exposing things dealing with singing and performing.

I can tell that she is very passionate at what she does and she is VERY GOOD at it as a result. She wants to help people in a positive way and is very encouraging.

I also love how her exercises are not only physical but get you thinking ahead about positive wonderful things that are of your dreams; it helps you to envision and eventually attract the positive things that you dream of. For example, she had us describe our "perfect 24 hour day". That was an amazing concept to me. If you can envision your perfect day and your perfect circumstances, you are so much closer to actually achieving them! These exercises help and instantly translate to better singing and better performing as we witnessed in the class. She is full of these tricks and techniques!

I would highly recommend working with Jan. She has a wealth of experience and wisdom to share with as many students that are lucky enough to work with her."

"I have taken Jeremy's Acting in Front of the Camera class and have loved every second of it. He is a very experienced and professional coach, but also very fun and easy going, which makes for a great acting coach. He has a lot of insight in the business and taught me all the technical aspects of acting for film and TV, but also focused on the most important part, getting into character and really understanding the scene. Jeremy is a great teacher and I loved being in his class."
