Jack and I communicated regarding my music experience and guitar goals prior to my first lesson. He was prepared and had a good starting point ready to go. After 3 lessons, I can say I’m very happy with the combination of music theory and practical guitar playing in my lessons. Jack knows his stuff and is a good guitar teacher.

I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Jack for about 8 months and it’s been an absolutely rewarding experience. I’m an adult with no musical background or training at all (despite owning a guitar for over a decade), so we began with the basics. He’s done a great job of introducing me to technique/principles of music and having me learn songs that are fun, but also challenging enough to push me further each time. What I appreciate most are his encouragement and patience. His approach is very positive and it makes for a comfortable learning environment, which has been absolutely key for me. Playing guitar is clearly Jack’s passion and it’s evident how much he wants to share that during lessons. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Jack is an awesome teacher! I started taking lessons from Jack about 7 months ago as a total beginner on the guitar. In our intro lesson, he asked me what my goals were (basically sing and play at the same time!) and has done a really great job structuring our lessons around what I want to do. Jack packs a ton into our 30-minute lessons--we play out of the lesson book, learn chords, practice techniques, and he usually gives me a fun song to sing and play. He's really good at pushing me out of my comfort zone to try new things (blues improv!) and is always very patient and positive. I would highly recommend Jack for beginners or any skill level!

Victoria is very knowledgeable and was very engaged throughout the lesson. She asked good questions to assess my goals and playing level, and tailored the lesson appropriately. I am looking forward to my next lesson.

"Our son has taken piano lessons from Mr. Allen for 3 years. He started when he was 6 years old. Mr. Allen uses praise to motivate and gives feedback in a manner that inspires our son to improve. He also encourages creativity and will work with song material that interests our son. Our son continues to love playing the piano and feels a great sense of accomplishment with the skills he has developed under Mr. Allen's guidance. I highly recommend Mr. Allen as a music instructor."

"Paul is an excellent teacher. He was kind, patient and willing to work on whatever it was that our daughter wanted to work on. He not only taught her guitar, but helped with her writing and some recording aspects as well. She was a teenager and loved her time she spent with Paul. She has been very successful so far in her music career and it all started with a passionate music teacher."

"Matt Macaulay has taught me guitar in his studio and at my home over the course of the last two years. He is a wonderful teacher, caring, thoughtful and thorough. I've had a lot of music teachers over the years but Matt stood out in his ability to provide organized and interesting teaching sessions which are well prepared for in advance and always entertaining. Matt is an amazing motivator and swiftly got me through the burdens of an early learning curve and into the fascinating world of music. I would warmly recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning - at any age - and is looking for a highly skilled and caring teacher!"

"I had reservations about singing lessons. I really wanted to be able to sing with more confidence. Not the American idol bloopers type of confidence but an I have a voice worth listening to kind of confidence. During my first lesson Katherine showed me techniques and exercises to try. I found myself becoming more comfortable with using my voice. It was a pleasant surprise since I was a bit skeptical about the outcome. I'm looking forward to my next lesson she is a fantastic teacher."

"Sally has taught piano for over 15 years with her husband Tim. Tim teaches voice and has professional singing experience with San Diego Opera. There teaching style has provided a structured environment with very patient, encouraging tone so the most timid of students will want to learn. Students with learning challenges have done well with their program. Periodic recitals and music competitions are scheduled during the year to showcase each students learning accomplishments. Both Tim and Sally are loving people and would welcome anyone who desires to learn piano, guitar, violin, and voice from their experienced teachers."
