My practice is based in a firm understanding of the laryngeal anatomy and a background in pedagogy the emphasizes a learning module. Clients learn to form new neural pathways to create sounds and shapes more consistent with their preferred spoken language. I also work with cases of jaw tension, and muscle tension dysphonia--both of which can make speaking and accent reduction difficult.

This is one of my absolute passions! Did you know that “regionally specific dialects” change approximately every 20 miles? Part of my vocal training included a deep dive into dialects or accents, how to master them and how to lose them. This is so much easier than you may think! It’s all about small modifications, mostly in the mouth and jaw that can completely change the way you sound.

How many sessions you need really depends on how much work you’re willing to put in between sessions. I can give you the keys, but this is really a case of practice makes perfect. If you find you’re not booking because of your accent, let me help you master “LA speak” otherwise known as the “non-regionally specific U.S. dialect”.

I am a professional opera singer and have studied diction and languages for 12 years. I have a special musican’s ear for the subtleties of language and a lot of tools to help you reach your communication goals in speaking American English! As someone who is often performing in other languages myself, I am personally acquainted with the challenges of mastering pronunciation and accents and I am excited about sharing what I’ve learned in my own journey with others!
