I can provide you with constructive critique as you progress in your work. This also helps motivate students to take a step back and objectively look at where they are now and how far they have come with their work. I have taught Flute and Recorder over a decade in both personal and classroom settings. Several of my students have gone on to achieve gold medals in their solo and ensemble contests, and place within the IMA music competition.
Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play a stronger, more supported sound and as time goes on you'll be able to expand your range beyond what you thought possible. I specialize in working with beginners, and have experience working with students new to braces, as well. Typically, I use the Rubank Flute Method book in addition to your school's band books.
As far as what age to start flute, I am firm in starting a student no earlier than the spring/summer before their 4th grade year of schooling. This is not to say that a child could not begin learning music earlier, but the arm length required to play flute is necessary to achieve success.
For recorders, I use various method books and pull from many additional pop song books as well. ...

Just as we see athletes spending time stretching and warming up before a performance, it’s mandatory that actors warm up be …
