My journey into the world of yoga began when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a pervasive autoimmune disease characterized by pain in the body. Since then I have learned to use my practice to heal my physical body, calm my emotional body, and bring balance into my life. Yoga is a way to connect the mind and the body and to become aware of the spirit. Yoga has changed my life and I work to cater each class to meet the needs of the individual present.

Music therapy has afforded me a great deal of experience working with children, teens, and adults with special needs including, autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional disturbances and developmental delays as well as teens and adults with psychosocial issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, personality disorders, and more.

I incorporate my experience as a therapist into the educative setting.

A dancer for most of her life, Hanna found the stretching and strengthening aspect of yoga to be an excellent complement to her dance training. It wasn't until she began classes at CorePower Yoga that she was able to find a deeper connection within herself and truly fell in love with the practice. A movement enthusiast, Hanna was immediately drawn to the physical challenges presented through creative Vinyasa flow sequences. Shortly after, she felt an energetic shift begin to impact her life in the most positive of ways. Lindsay is wonderful. She really takes her time to understand what the client both wants out of their workout and needs out of their workout. I love how she always mixes it up and is not afraid to challenge me. Also she’s great in both private sessions and group sessions! Thanks Lindsay!

Lindsay put together mommy and me ballet lessons for my 2 year old and I. We looked forward to our lessons and she kept my daughter engaged and having fun the entire time. Over the course of a year, not only did we have a lot of fun doing ballet together, she actually learned a few basic steps and is comfortable with the rhythm of warming up, dancing, then cooling down. Having Lindsay live online was much better than a video because she interacted with Skye and could adjust the lesson to keep her involved. I enjoyed dancing with my daughter and getting a little stretch and workout in each time as well.

Sarah is great. My son starts his flute at his school in 4th grade. After three weeks 30 minutes group lesson, he came home with tears saying that he didn’t get any help from the school teacher. We found Sarah. After the first online class, my son instantly likes her. She helped him to catch up the music notes from school first. After two lessons, Sarah helps him gained his confidence and basic skills. Then she recommends extra books that will be more attractive.

Sarah is very organized and easily to communicate with. We had couple questions. She responds quickly either in text message and email.

We are very happy with her and highly recommend.

Tamara began practing yoga in 2005 and completed her Yoga Teacher Training at Asheville Yoga Center in NC - 2009.

QI GONG
Tamara began practicing Chinese QiGong in 2003 after discovering it's similarities to her intuitive practice, Internal Alchemy. She was strongly intrigued by this energy practice with over 5000 years of passed down teachings. Tamara soon trained at Kun Yu Shan Academy of Martial Arts in China in 2006. She then studied the rudiments of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Dragon Rises College, 2009-2010.

SKATING
Tamara has been ice skating since age 2, roller skating since age 3, rollerblading since 1994, and urban street skating since 1999.

I went to Tamara for Yoga to just feel more present and to become more flexible, but I got so much more. A problem with my neck and shoulder I had for so many years that I forgot it was always there , is now gone. It was locked up for years & it's now loose. It gets stiff on occasion, and when it does I now know how to release it. And it works! It took time and practice, but it got there! It's more like a therepeutic, transcendental session of magic wherein I'm learning how to do the magic on my own. So good!

My journey into yoga started out with just wanting to be able to touch my toes. I sat down on my mat in my first class in a room with about 40 other students, nervous as ever about all the crazy gymnastic like poses we'd have to do. Our teacher turned down the lights a bit, turned on some soft flute music, and asked us to take a deep breath. Then another. Then another. Slowly she guided us to move our bodies and focus on how each breath felt in each position. Eventually, breath by breath, I was able to touch my toes.

One of my clients was moving and traveling around quite a bit, and he wanted help getting a solid workout regimen that was safe for his shoulder injury. PLUS he wanted to learn how to speak Chinese Mandarin through our workouts! Needless to say, this has been quite the fun and challenging mission for BOTH of us – he has improved significantly in endurance, body mass composition, and his new language skills – all while keeping his shoulder safe.

My favorite exercise is…
The vinyasa series in yoga (plank, chaturanga, upward-facing dog, downward-facing dog): it is so good for the entire body in terms of building strength, stamina and flexibility! I always try to include at least a few of these in each workout (maybe as part of the dynamic warm-up of a bootcamp class, and definitely as part of my yoga flows). It helps mobilize the spine, warm up the shoulders and hamstrings, activate the core, and center your focus.

She is patient and attentive to your needs. She is flexible and will modify moves if needed. I am a plus size woman and I had never done yoga before. I wanted something that could help me continue healing after a severe back injury and Angelica at CurvyChick Yoga designed a workout that was sensitive to my needs and still challenged me. I will definitely be a repeat client.
