After speaking to multiple tutoring companies, we discovered Matthew. Matthew was very professional and made my son feel comfortable. They had a total of 5 tutoring sessions covering Math, English, Science and Reading. My son took the ACT after his tutoring sessions and scored a 23. We were very pleased with the progress our son made by going from an ACT score of 19 to 23 after only 5 sessions with Matthew. I would highly recommend Matthew J. Horwich to anyone needing tutoring.

Matthew explained his approach to coaching and the plan so we were able to make an educated choice on the best tutor for our son. Matthew was responsive, organized and worked very well with our son. He communicated directly with our son and cc:ed me so that I was aware of the plan and f/u. His scores did improve on the SAT and we were pleased with the investment.
Gaetano
Matt has been awesome for my student. His math skills have improved greatly, and his writing has come from illegible to what can now be described as neat and readable. Matt has been very patient and deliberate with our son and has taken the time to really explain things to Jake in a way he can understand. We would recommend this tutor to any parent looking for a tutor for their grammar school student! Matt is also reliable and prompt and showed up when expected which was helpful with our very busy schedules.

I have taught many subjects to all ages for decades. My primary focus at present is English. Although I love teaching English in general, whether reading comprehension, grammar, or general verbal skills, my ultimate passion is writing. Expressing oneself in writing can be very cathartic, and I find that I enjoy helping students find their voice, their perspective and various ways of expressing themselves through the written word. Most students have something to say but lack the tools to effectively express it, so I patiently enlighten, empower and provide those tools.

In addition to being one of the most educated, well-versed, and talented teachers I have come across in my 2 decades of performing, his passion for music and all that is art is extremely evident. He instills a faith in his students and co-performers that lets you know he believes in you and your potential, and ensures his dedication in assisting you to learn, grow, and bloom both musically and artistically.

I have had Randy as my instructor for over a year and he has helped me develop my singing skills to a level I didn’t think was possible. Even after the first few weeks of class, I noticed a difference in my singing. Randy is extremely knowledgeable and does a wonderful job of teaching. He does well with explaining techniques and makes things easily understandable. He is also very kind, talented and professional. I will always be grateful to Randy because he is helping me to be a singer that I always dreamt of being!

My emphasis is on a dialogue-driven, genre-sensitive, and media-enriched introduction to writing. This establishes a common and confident ground for inspirational English learning. The goal is to address critical, daunting issues that often derail students’ track towards the acquisition of a distinctive, impressive writing style.
I have studied English, directly, through my degree in the field and through continued training at the graduate and doctorate levels. I've taught several sections of first-year composition at a university. I have written short stories and poetry in formal environments and for presentation. I have facilitated learning for diverse age levels, as children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
For example, I use a customized curriculum addressing frequently requested topics, as creativity, personal style, grammar, punctuation, diction, syntax, and idea-generation. Students have favorably reviewed my unique usage of related multimedia tools, as audio ...

I am a college level jazz musician.
My primary instruments are jazz guitar and upright bass.
Growing up I have always wanted to sing but never could find a qualified teacher.

Luckily, after extensive research online for vocal teachers I discovered Kara.
I have been taking lessons with her for a while now and she's wonderful.
I always have many questions for her in my lessons and she always has a knowledgable response.

I feel like I'm progressing and finally learning how to sing properly with someone who knows their stuff.

I would highly recommend studying with her.
