I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis. I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham. I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system. Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc.... The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

Hello from Seattle! I love teaching! For more than 40 years and I have been a professional photographer. I was the Team Photographer for the Washington Stealth pro indoor lacrosse team for three years, and teach photography at the Pacific Science Center, the Bellevue Club, The Leica Store, Glazer's Camera, Omega Photo and other locations. I have shot professionally since I was 15. My photos have been published in several magazines and I have three photos published in the New York Times. I was the mission photographer for the first private spaceflight
- Space Ship One, and the first ocean plastic cleanup system. I have experience shooting dozens of cameras from nearly every manufacturer. I often write camera, software and lens reviews for online sites. I am also a former employee of Apple in their advertising department.
I love teaching:
~ Photography 101, Basic Photography How To's ~ Learning How to Really Use Your Camera (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Leica, Panasonic, Olympus and more) ~ How to pick and use the right lenses for the task ~ Photos for your Online Store: Table Top Photography ~ Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop ~ Photo Processing, Editing, Storage ~ Basic Portrait Lighting ~ Travel Photography including making travel books ~ Black & White Photos from your Color Photos ~ Sports Photography ~ Printing Fine Art Photos ~ Color Management ~ Mac computer setup and optimization for photography
and other topics that may be of interest to you. I especially love doing a portfolio review with you where I give you honest critique and suggestions on how to improve your existing photos and think about elevating your new photos.
I like to start with new students by talking on the phone or emailing before our first lesson to get a good sense of your experience and your goals in getting more instruction in photography. I do not charge for this initial conversation once you have registered and scheduled your first lesson package.
Three of my students have gone from amateur to professional and are selling their work.
I am married (28 years!) and I have two boys - one in high school and one graduating college. I have several students in their early teens - I love teaching them because they're so motivated and unafraid of the technology.
We can do lessons together online using Zoom - we can see each other, hear each other, share screens and I can show you step by step how to do everything we cover! Zoom conferencing is free, there's nothing to buy, so it's included in my lesson prices. My students love our online sessions - we go at your pace and answer all the questions you have. My students range in age from 11 to 80.
I am most proud of this comment from one of my students: "There is a difference between teaching and mentoring. While the terms seem similar they are distinct in their approach to the recipient. Brad is innately both with the lessons I participated in. He is a teacher and a mentor.
He taught me but he also "brought me along". On one hand, he gave me excellent raw knowledge and technique but still, on the opposite side of the coin, gave constant reality-based feedback and pushed me without hurting my enthusiasm. He told me about his successes and shortcomings "once upon a time ago" and I didn't see him as infallible as many instructors want you to, I saw him as having lived a path, scouted it, and coming back to help show me the way. He didn't just tell me where I was going wrong, he showed me, then showed me how to correct it, then guided me through the process of correcting it, then followed up. Who could ask for more than that?
Brad is the total package when it comes to instruction. I am a better photographer for having studied with him. I am also making my dreams come true as a businessman. I owe most of that to him. I look forward to my next lessons, but honestly I more so look forward to what is behind the doors he will inevitably open up for me."

He's the best! Lessons are tailored by questions asked. He is knowledgeable and flexible. I highly recommend him.
I am an art lover. I paint and like to illustrate books for my niece and nephews. I love teaching all ages, especially kids. I used to be a teaching assistant for undergraduate-level art students. Recently, I have been teaching art classes and in-studio lessons with grade school aged kids. I am especially good at guiding people through drawing and painting from life. I have lots of examples of my art I will provide. I have also studied art theory and history, and I am a good writer. I'm open to doing different sorts of lessons, depending on what your learning style is. I can guide you in a step-by-step process with a live demonstration, or I can look at your artwork and critique it for you. If you are just starting out as an artist, I can give you an introduction to the medium you're going to be working with. Also, I can suggest all k
inds of artists for you to look at and exercises for you to try.
I just completed my first lesson with Tabitha. I highly recommend her to anyone that wants to learn how to paint or to gain a better understanding of painting or drawing. Tabitha is an experienced professional with a wealth of knowledge. Her teaching style is excellent, she has a great, friendly personality & is super encouraging. I learned a lot during my first lesson & I can't wait until my next one.!
Boris Ostrerov earned and MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013. While in school, he learned to paint and draw both representationally and abstractly with various mediums. Since 2008, Ostrerov has taught art classes to beginner adults and children. He creates a comfortable environment and his students have complimented his knowledge of the subject, patience, and ability to clearly articulate and demonstrate approaches and techniques to painting and drawing. He believes art is a rewarding hobby and that everyone has the potential to improve their artistic skills and exercise their creativity through visual art.
Ostrerov has exhibited his work in Chicago and New York including showing at Paris London Hong Kong (PLHK), Lubov, Tory Folliard, and the Portrait Society in Milwaukee. He has be
en featured in several publications including New American Paintings #119.
Boris was a fantastic painting teacher -- knowledgeable, personable, and professional. He was very communicative before the lesson regarding the topic, materials, and timing. Doing an in-home lesson was convenient and made the experience even more memorable. We especially appreciated the convenience of him bringing most of the supplies, while offering the option for us to provide them ourselves for cost savings and to continue painting afterward.
Upon arrival he asked great questions to understand our level of experience with acrylic painting, and walked us through tutorials on techniques before we started the main topic. Then during the lesson he was patient and adaptable as my girlfriend and I expressed our individual art styles. Overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing way to expand their skills and experiences.
Dedicated art professional with 18 years of experience in creating artwork utilizing various medias. In my early years I worked as an outsider artist giving watercolor lessons for Susan Edwards of the artist place called "The Art Attack in Sycamore Illinois. After some years of painting and displaying my work at outdoor art shows and inside some stores i went to Northern Illinois University and obtained my Bachelor of Fine Art in painting. I have joined art leagues and art guilds near where I live. I recommend the Kishwaukee Valley Art League and the Rockford Art guild. There i learned how to reach children and adults on how to get interested in painting. Strong competency in teaching and leading aspiring artists in group or individualized settings. In order to become a better artist you learn by drawing in a sketchbook from photos i
will assign every two weeks. If you think they are good then you will redraw them in a journal. We will critique them by email and make wonderful discoveries on how you are getting very good at becoming an artist.
Inside my art studio I have had artists stick to my belief that a sketchbook and a journal with pencils is the best way to improve.
Happy Drawing and remember my favorite words "Just Paint"!

I'm an artist specializing in drawing and painting classes for young adults and adults. You'll receive personalized instruction from a classically trained artist. My mission is to give Students the skills to draw and paint realistically, and express themselves.
I can't say enough about Monica. She is able to bring out the best in her students and allow them to express their talent . Her bright outlook and encouragement allowed me to grow as an artist. She is like an art mentor that will allow you to flourish.
I am an independent professional visual artist, with over 20 years' hands on teaching experience in U.S. and abroad. At the age of 13, I began learning how to paint with my father, who is an established artist, in an informal studio class. Later, I decided to pursue higher education in fine arts and received my BFA and MFA degrees. While working on my Bachelor’s degree, I began teaching in schools and later in my private studio. My expertise is to help others to discover their special talent, as I believe every person has a unique sense of creation. As an experienced art teacher and mentor, I have always provided a solid education for every one of my students and I have demonstrated an ability to engage students from diverse academic backgrounds and age groups. My goal is to develop an understanding of and enthusiasm for arts in others
by addressing different learning styles. I demonstrate both traditional practices and contemporary critical and technical approaches to painting.
Along with coursework and research, being a professional visual artist has shaped who I am as a teacher. Through experiencing variety of techniques I have become familiar with alternate ways of visualizing and pushing the boundaries of innovation. I would love to share this perspective with my students whenever possible.
Enjoy one on one art class with me and let me help you to discover the power of your inner artist!

"We feel that we totally lucked out with finding Jason who is a complete gem! He showed up on time and quickly inspired my son with the drawing lessons by
having him draw Superheroes! So my son is having a great time with Jason who has a great way of giving feedback and steering Cody using a balance of instructions and positive feedback. Cody is definitely enjoying his lessons and I am seeing real progress. I feel like I did the right thing investing in these lessons and giving Cody a great summer with a wonderful instructor. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Jason for being so great at what you do!"
