My specialty is voice training. Vocal coaching can only present a positive effect on the voice. Many people who sing have a natural talent but with enough wear and tear on the vocal chords, it can be damaged also. Certain damages come in the form of nodule (pronounced nodes) or polyps, these are puss inflamed irritations that develop due to misuse of the voice caused by screaming, singing strictly from the chest without the use of head tones, just to mention a few.
Piano is one of the best percussion instrument learned by the vocalist. Its clarity of tonality helps to correct aural sound non-comprehension.

About LaTishia

LaTishia has 19 years of experience in the field of management in entertainment, program coordinating and vocal/piano coaching. Her educational Background express B.A. in Arts Administration from Westminster Choir College (soon to be completed), located in Princeton NJ. Her experiences, surpasses m

With all my students, I emphasize good technique. No matter what genre of music or age of student, singing in a healthful and fun way includes great posture, good breath management, and producing a free and easy sound.I believe that each student has their own unique way of learning, so I tailor my lessons to fit. Immediate feedback and specific practice instructions help my students gain a sense of confidence and assess their progress. Last but not least, singing should be fun!

About Michelle

Instilling and nurturing a love of music and developing musicianship are why I’m a voice teacher. I earned my Master of Music Education degree in 2012 from Boston University, which has furthered my love of teaching and given me even more resources to draw from. With all my students, I emphasize

I worked with Michelle for a little over 2 years. As an adult student, I was super nervous about singing in front of anyone - it took me this long to just sign up for lessons! She was patient with me and gave me lots of tools for dealing with my nerves and stage fright. Michelle helped me to choose songs that I not only wanted to sing but that matched my voice and range. I was hesitant about performing in a recital but Michelle pointed out that it was like training for a marathon - doing all the work but not performing just seemed silly. It wasn't perfect but it was definitely something I'm proud to have crossed off my bucket list.

"The environment Missy creates: 1. I learn the mechanics of my muscles to obtain a better sound 2. I'm Encouraged to work through the "bad" sounds, that have shut me down in the past, which enables me to learn a different way to approach a better sound. Most important working with her has helped me break free from the shame of "not getting the notes right the first time". I feel hopeful."

"So happy we found Dena!

My 9 yr old daughter loves her singing lessons with Dena! She loves to sing so much, I thought it would be a good idea to have her get lessons. She was nervous at first, but she really enjoys the lessons, and she's definitely improved under Dena's direction. Dena is warm and friendly, and yet professional at the same time. We're very pleased, and I would recommend her to anyone!"

My son, who sings really good, was not able to do a good job with his voice especially when he performs in the concerts. "Fabulous teacher, motivating, inspiring, skilled and dedicated!

My daughter loves studying with Marti. She is able to teach in a way that is understandable while also motivating excellency. In the past we have tried other coaches but they have all been disappointing and teach only a song while playing at the piano. Marti teaches full voice technique while integrating the technique with the pieces they will perform. Couldn't be happier!"

The Importance of Vowels

If you've been taking singing lessons for a while, you've probably practiced several silly warm-up exercises. You know, the ones where you're making funny faces and sounds, saying nonsensical phrases, and so on. All of these exercises have one common goal: to prepare the voice and help you learn to keep your mouth and throat open. Read on as Seal Beach instructor Carl B. explains why vowels are important for this very reason... A few years ago I coined a phrase that clarifies the import …
