Sheer technique is necessary but insufficient to play an instrument well. Aural skills, that include the study of functional tonality and voice-leading are important factors that impart musicality. This is of great import if the prospective musician wants the audience to truly enjoy his or her performance !
Whether it be the 3 Rs or preparation in the performing arts, a remarkable instructor must go well beyond the subject matter at hand and help imbue the student with a spirit of wonder that, in due time, will foster enthusiasm necessary for excellence.
A child emulates and learns to communicate in his or her mother-tongue through a supporting and nurturing environment. Likewise, a student needs to be sufficiently motivated to embrace learning in a familiar supportive manner.
*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lesson take place in the living room. Driveway parking. No pets.
*** Travel Equipment ***

I have been teaching math for several years now and understand the need for a good foundation. I work with students to find any concepts they have missed or do not fully understand. My goal in teaching math is always comprehension not grades. After laying a good foundation, it is amazing to see the improvement and success my students have had!
About Benjamin
I have a bachelors degree in biology with a minor in art. After graduating college, I was a full-time high school biology teacher, volleyball coach, and director of the school musical. As a high school teacher, I learned first hand the kind of pressure and expectat

Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer's voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.
During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano, recording equipment, large collection of sheet music
*** Specialties ***
I specialize in helping students find their true singing voice.

About Jon H.
CloseParents, students, I can help with that math problem!
I've helped dozens of students overcome every sort of math roadblock. All too often, a confusing lesson has gone unresolved, leading to heaps of bewilderment and frustration. Think of it like a tangle in a rope that only gets more knotted as you struggled to unravel it. Relax. I've got this.
We go back to the original knot, unravel it together, then coil everything back up cleanly. Sometimes it takes a few sessions, more often longer.
I tailor every session to each student, using methods they can relate to. Your student likes video games? Many have a built in key to understanding negative numbers. Simple, fun card games are my go-to choice for fractions and other math monsters.
I provide plenty of patience, clear, consistent guidelines, and positive coaching. No one needs to struggle in math. As long as your student wants to learn, you will see improvement with my help!
About Jon
I hold a BA with honors from CSUSB, with an English concentration. I was personally requested by my linguistics teacher for peer tutoring. My one-on-one experience has been predominantly in math and English, though I am open to other subjects because...
My teaching has taken me from museum galleries to working farms, and mountain trails to public schools. Whether I hold feldspar by a stream, a paint brush in a school room, or a salamander in an animal gallery, I see people learning best when they smile as they go. I make it a point to see that both occur. My sess
I learn because I love to, I teach because I'm good at it, and I tutor because it creates the greatest opportunity for success. The true payoff for me is helping my students realize they can achieve what they didn't think they could. I love that!

I stress understanding rather than memorizing formulas. This ensures my students can derive formulas/solutions even without memorization.
I know firsthand how difficult it is to learn programming whether you are a total newbie, or a budding intermediate, but I have overcame these challenges myself and will guide you to overcome them too. I also have 3 years of tutoring experience, which will surely come in handy!
About Bill
I enjoy tutoring and helping other overcome problems that I have encountered myself because it enhances my own understanding and makes me happy that my self-studying is helping others. Sometimes, my students even bring up alternative ways of thinking that I have never thought of before!

I have taught math for the past 18 years. My students have consistently seen their grades improve from C's to B's and B's to A's. I have also helped students increase their overall SAT scores by 200-400 points, ACT scores by 4-8 composite points, and SAT Math Level 2 scores by 100-200 points.
I first carefully diagnose the student's strengths and weaknesses by analyzing previous standardized test scores or making them take an initial diagnostic test.
Then, I create a customized syllabus for each and every student based on what he/she most needs to improve the most in the shortest amount of time. I use only the best published materials and some of my own custom-made booklets.
As the lessons progress, I continually monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments until the student reaches his/her goal and no longer needs my services.
About Paul
I have helped thousands of students achieve their academic goals. I have increased old SAT scores 300-500 points, new SAT scores 150-300 points, and composite ACT scores 3-6 points. I have raised math and English grades from C’s to B’s and B's to A's. Under my guidance, students have written college application essays that contributed to their acceptances into Yale, UPenn, Cornell, West Point, and dozens of other prestigious universities. For a select few well-read students, I have coached them to win a variety of writing contests including the prestigious Scholastic Art &
Through classes or private lessons, I connect with students, motivate them to dream bigger and work harder, pinpoint areas of improvement, utilize proven methods, and above all, get results.
I live in northern New Jersey. My better half is Jeanette, and I have three beautiful children.

Hello Potential Students!
I've always believed that even the most complicated mathematical concepts can be broken down into simple, straightforward, and logical steps that anyone can understand. I'm here to show you that path forward. It's time to stop being afraid! I will help you face your math fears, fill the gaps in your knowledge, and get you back on track.
I have been tutoring math and physics for a number of years now. I have a degree in astrophysics and currently work as a patent attorney where I detail complicated new technologies for the public on a day-to-day basis.
Outside of work, I have a passion for helping kids tackle difficult subjects and raising potential in the classroom. I'll make sure you have the foundational knowledge to tackle difficult homework problems, and prepare for tests as they come around. Like everything, math is a skill that is developed with practice. I'll make sure that you have the tools to practice the right way.
About Joshua
I pride myself in being able to break down difficult skills into basic steps that anyone can master. The hard part is knowing how to break down those skills, but you can leave that part to me!
I've taught music and piano for a number of years, and also tutor students in difficult high school subjects such as match and physics. I have a degree in astrophysics from the University of Maryland, and now work as a patent attorney where I work to break down and detail difficult cutting-edge technologies for the public.

I love math because there are SO my ways to solve a problem, but there is only one correct answer. More often than not, we only think about the answer to a problem instead of the why behind it. When you take math lessons with me, you'll be engaged with manipulatives and be able to not only give the correct answer but also explain how you know.
About Stacey
I believe that ALL students have a right to a quality education and deserve to have a tea her that will help grow a child into their best self. I love motivating students to reach their fullest potential and thrive on growth from my students. I love teaching primary students because they are like sponges that soak up information and the amount of progress they make each year is truly incredible.

I've been tutoring students in Math of all levels from Pre-Algebra all the way up to Calculus for over 5 years. My philosophy is teaching you how to approach each problem rather than simply giving you a straight answer. My goal is to help you see the patterns between different questions and help you develop a solid strategy for each type of question you approach.
About Nicholas
I graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley in 20
I have over 1000 hours of tutoring and teaching experience, and am comfortable with Math, Physics, Chemistry, Writing, English, French, ACT, and SAT. My only policy is that you do not simply ask me for the answer, but rather help me help you through questions. A big part of your college career is that you find yourself not being able to ask the right questions to guide you to the answer, and I want to be here to help you learn that skill. I will help walk you through all the steps of the problem and clarify the theory along the way so that you can gain mastery of the material. However, if you are simply asking for someone who will give you a quick answer without a thorough explanation, please seek another tutor.
I can tutor ACT Math, ACT English, ACT Reading, ACT Writing, ACT Science, SAT Math, SAT Writing, Algebra 2, Algebra 1, Biostatistics, Statistics, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC/AB, Introduction to College Calculus, Probability, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Introduction to College Physics, and Introduction to College Chemistry. I also have extensive experience with college admissions guidance and organization & study skills.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you master the topics you are studying!
