About Jason N.

¡Hola! ¡Bienvenido! Hello and Welcome!

my name's Jason and I love Spanish and Latin America.

I'm currently a doctoral student. I majored in Spanish at University of California, Davis, lived in Mexico for 3 years where I completed a Master's degree in Counseling, studied Spanish Literature and Psychology at the University of Costa Rica for 7 months and have traveled around a few other Latin American Countries.

My goal is to tailor the lessons to what best helps you learn. I can do conversation classes and academic ones too. I have a lot of material and activities to facilitate fun learning. My command of the language is almost native. I prefer to work with those who really want to learn, just so we both use our time wisely. I work best with those who already have a base in Spanish but want to prefect their knowledge of proverbs

, sayings, jokes, cultural aspects of Spanish, grammar, vocabulary, conjugation, listening and overall language skills. That said, I can work with anyone at any level of Spanish, and have experiences with students from ages 5 to 67.

Jason inspired me to have a break-through with my Spanish. As a nurse with many Hispanic patients, after only 3 classes with Jason, I successfully triage'd a patient using almost all Spanish. I was pretty stoked about the whole thing. It was a really good confidence boost to not only use it and be understood by the lady, but I understood her too. Not every little word, mind you, but I was able to pick out a lot of the context and figure out what was going on. Working with Jason makes me feel like I'm opening up a whole new avenue in my practice, even after 15 years of repetition. I have Jason to thank for this and it's just boosted me towards learning more.

Jason is a quality Spanish teacher. Not only does he have a native command of the language (as verified by my Latino co-worker), but Jason is also a skilled language instructor. Two attributes of Jason that I particularly value are his attention to detail and the way he highlights language patterns to facilitate learning. It is evident that Jason has a huge passion for teaching Spanish.

About Azalea

Welcome! My name is Azalea, I grew up in Mexico and I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I hold a Master's degree and I have been teaching since 2012. Some of my classroom settings include private lessons, group lessons, summer camps, online lessons, among others. I have experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds such as children, adults, college students, working parents, etc.

I believe it is important for students to be emerged in the language they are learning. For this reason, I like to encourage my students to practice in and outside our lessons as much as possible by speaking, listening, and reading in Spanish. Every single student is different and they all have very different learning techniques; therefore, I personalize my lesson plans to fit my students' needs, learning style, and interests. Plus, the mos

t important part of the learning process is to have fun and to enjoy ourselves every lesson!

Our background or language should never be a reason to feel disconnected from others, like our own family, friends, or colleagues. So if you are looking to learn Spanish for work, school, or just for fun, you are in the right place! I would love to help you conquer your goals and guide you in your Spanish journey!

Thank you for stopping by and please let me know if you have any questions, I can't wait to meet you!

Azalea is great because she tailors the lesson to my unique needs. I need to know more Spanish for my work. She also goes pretty fast, I think because I know some Spanish already, but will slow down and explain things when I ask questions. She also sends written document after the lesson laying out what we covered. Brava Azalea!

I look forward to my Spanish lessons with Azalea! She is very personable and makes me feel like a friend is helping me learn and practice instead of a feeling like a student. It’s easy to ask questions and I think she explains things in ways that are easy to understand.
So glad I found this site and Azalea! Gracias!

About Guifang

I have 10 years of language teaching experience. I have learned eight languages and dialects over the years in China and overseas. I started tutoring Chinese students (age 8-16) English and Chinese in 2009 and I founded my first summer camp in China in 2010. Students who had registered for my summer camp increased from 25 in 2010 to 86 in 2016. I've gained very valuable skills and perspectives in teaching, not just as a teacher, but also as a student--students are my teachers too--I've learned there are always places that I can improve and better help them learn languages. Students' "needs" and "wants" are prioritized. It helps students achieve their goals while combined with students' "lacks" in lesson planning. Students should get involved in the lesson planning process.

Interest is the best teacher. When I taught non-native Chinese

speakers (in China, South Korea and the U.S) Chinese, it seemed it stimulated their curiosity and interest to learn Chinese when cultural elements were introduced--such as characters' origin and visualization, historical contexts and cultural traditions. I hope that approach can also bring you an enjoyable experience learning a new language!

To help you be able to use Chinese, our language learning is mainly through interactive and communicative approaches. Talk! Talk! Talk! Please don't be shy. It's okay to make mistakes. Learning from mistakes is also a very effective way to learn a new language. We can make more contextualized dialogues based on whatever textbook you are using now. Or we can produce functional conversation based on everyday topics that you are interested. Lesson plans are customized and they can be flexible.

Ready to get on the boat and sail on the sea of Chinese? :)

About Emily

I LOVE having FUN while we learn. So, that means singing, laughing, smiling, being silly to break the ice...I incorporate fun activities to learning to help ease the tension of the classroom for the Learner. It is amazing what a little laughter can do to defuse the bewildered, confused 'I don't know what I'm doing?' look on a Learner's face.

I am in love with pronunciation! I strive very hard to instill in Learners the proper (over) enunciated sound of a phonics blend, letter sound or word pronunciation for them to hear what it should sound like and with practice, they can hear themselves and thus find their 'English voice'.

I do believe each Learner is seeking to find their 'English voice' and with time, hearing the language, practicing what they hear, and applying by speaking they will acquire their own 'English voice' and not s

top speaking in their new tongue!

I enjoy teaching very much! It is an innate ability I have with no stress or restraint. I am very creative and thrive in my creativity when I teach; using a diverse amount of objects to assist in the diverse abilities of the Learners.

I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!

About Cierra

Greetings Earthlings, class is in session. Ok time for our first POP QUIZ! See your questions below. (There is a right or wrong answer, but only you will know if it’s correct or not.)

Question 1.: Who are you?

Question 2.: Who or what did you want to be prior to any doubt of becoming that was brought to your awareness?

Question 3.: Does it bother you to have fun while learning? (This is not a trick question.)

Well, there you go. So, how did you do? Remember, only you can really answer these specific questions. When it comes to exploring self, which most of my lessons extends from, understanding and being honest with whom, what and where you are is the first step in opening yourself up to learning and evolving.

Learning should be fun an exciting. There’s also a sense of freedom that should come along with the power of obtaining new me

ntal tools for life. Your life.
