I’m not usually one to write reviews but Jeff is such a great teacher. He really helped to develop my playing to where now I consider myself a confident bassist. His style of teaching not only helped me to be a better bassist, but also helped me internalize musical concepts that will help me for the rest of my life. I strongly recommend Jeff if you are looking for someone to really take you to the next level!

Jeff Was a godsend with our 9 year old son. We felt Jeff really knew what Jabob needed to get him interested in learning to correct way to play, while also having FUN. As a pick up, know nothing guitar player myself I was really impressed with Jeff’s attitude and dedication to music and fostering the learning of music. 10/10 THANKS Jeff!

About Keith

Keith is an amazing teacher. My 7 year old son likes him very much. Before the lessons I worried our boy couldn’t build his interest in playing piano, just lose his enthusiasm after a while as the 7 years old always did. But Keith make me totally worry free, my son likes him very much, and he really knows how to build the kid’s interests and confidence while learning. Now my son enjoyed himself very much with Keith in their piano time. We are so lucky to find Keith.

We had four in-home lessons with Keith and he never once arrived on time. And not like 5 minutes late because of bad traffic or something. Once he was 40 minutes late, and another time he was 45 minutes late. For an hour lesson. At first I though there was some confusion because the time on take lessons was slightly different than the time we agreed to (he asked if we could start earlier than the time slot that was listed, and I agreed) but after speaking with him about it, we were both on the same page as to what time the lesson *should* begin, he just never arrived on time. He seems to be very overbooked and busy and does not respect his clients’ time. He told me that the disparity of arriving on time or a half hour late is “superfluous,” so if you hire him, be prepared to have a wide window of when he could show up. My kids liked him as a teacher, which is why I kept giving him chances and trying to work out scheduling issues (I offered to move our lessons to a different time, but he insisted the time we were at was fine) but in the end, things could not be resolved.

I teach singers of all genres (country, classical, jazz, pop, bluegrass, rock…) to sing with confidence and freedom!

I have a M.M. in vocal performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts and have extensive vocal training. I teach an open throat technique (appoggio) that allows the singer to sing with freedom, and access their entire range evenly. I also work with students to develop style, interpretation, languages, and acting ability.

About Benjamin

I have extensively studied vocal performance for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have a Master of Vocal Performance Degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, where I extensively studied the anatomy of the voice. I am th

So far, lessons with Ben have been VERY good (and productive! I'm naturally a reserved person, but He has gotten me to push beyond my comfort zone (that is "be louder"), which in retrospect has also helped me build my confidence in other areas. So at this point I look forward to having lessons, because I am growing in my understanding of how to use this God-given gift; a gift that's meant to be shared (not hidden away in silence).

I have taught quite a few bass students even though I am primarily a guitarist. I have years of experience playing myself and have been bassist in various bands.

I have a deep knowledge of the fretboard and music theory so if you want to learn the neck better I can help you out. My specialties are Pop, Blues, and Jazz.

If you like blues, we will learn to play a song pretty much the first day and then we learn theory, different riffs, and more songs as we go on. We also can work on improvisation and accompanying other instruments.

If Jazz is your focus, we will start doing some blues as that is fundamental and you can learn songs fast. Then we'll branch out into arpeggios and some theory. After that we apply the theory to actual jazz standards and learn how to create cool bass lines over chord changes.

If you want to do pop/learn songs you love, I will help you learn good technique and we'll learn things on a song by song basis.

No matter what style you want to ...

The first time we met Beckie we immediately discovered she is a very friendly and welcoming instructor. I noticed that my son was immediately at ease with her and all apprehension about meeting a new teacher left him. Driving home after that first lesson he commented on how much he liked Beckie. Beckie does a great job of explaining the theory part of the lessons and I'm excited to see my son's ability grow. My only regret is not having met her sooner."

A Little Bit of Country: Easy Classic Country Songs for Guitarists

If you're a fan of classic country music, you've come to the right place. Here, guitar teacher Willy M. shares his favorite classic country songs for guitarists... I grew up in the late '70s and early '80s in the rural Midwest when "Hee-Haw," a country television program, was something that everyone knew about. It was the Grand Ole Opry’s rendition of a high-theatrical experience, and a showcase for classic country artists to play their tunes. Willie Nelson, one of my favorite songwr …
