When you sign up for saxophone lessons with me, you will begin by learning the basics of the instrument including proper holding and playing position, tone production, rhythm, first position notes, basic notation. Once you get the basics down, you will learn how to play your favorite melodies and songs. All of this can happen within the first 4-6 months of playing.

I realize it was the first lesson but I was a little disappointed that we spend nearly the entire time on housekeeping items, like canceling and re-scheduling appointments. I think that could have been covered with an e-mail or handout. I also thought we spent too much time going over the differences between acoustic and electric guitars - considering my age and background. Would have liked to see him demonstrate what I was asked to practice before the next lesson instead of just being told to refer to the workbook.

We have a kid that has major anxiety issues, quit piano after a couple of years of learning nothing, and didn't want to play a musical instrument for the rest of her life. She was forced to take an instrument in school, and ended up borrowing my (older than I'd like to admit) flute. We searched for a teacher that "got" anxiety kids, and found Isaiah. In less than a year, my daughter is better on flute than I was after taking years of lessons. She adores Isaiah, and was so good after only playing for couple of months last year that she ended up playing a duet for the whole school at the winter concert. I played the Flute in high school and have not played music since. San is the director of music at the RV park my husband and I currently reside (snowbirds). The park has a band composed of residents and San is the director. I have enjoyed listening to the band play for the park residents so much and Sans offered classes to park residents so I have always wanted to learn guitar so I signed up for classes.

San has made classes enjoyable and challenging. She always gives me something to strive for, gears the lessons to my knowledge/ability and keeps me interested and wanting to learn more. I highly recommend Sans as an instructor. She will not disappoint!
