I am a Civil Engineer with a graduate degree in Earthquake Engineering, as well as certifications on Vertical Construction. I have taught undergraduate level courses at my university back home and have had over four years of experience in the field. This is my main passion, so I would be thrilled to teach you about it!

About Pedro

I am a Civil Engineer specialized in Earthquake Engineering, but have diversified my background throughout the years (I am an avid student myself!). My teaching experience includes working as a professor at my university back at home and tutoring high school students- mainly in mathematics and phys

Pedro is a very good tutor. He is patient and explains the subject matter well. The student was comfortable with him and therefore was able to ask questions whenever it was needed. I appreciated Predro's schedule flexibility as well.

I had no idea how lucky I would be to find Pedro. I am an interior designer learning Autocad and having no prior experience with the program, Pedro made it totally accessible. He is a phenomenal teacher and is so kind and patient. He provides foundational rules at the beginning of each session and has clear goals mapped out for every step of the way. We have done a number of exercises that I did not think would be possible for me to accomplish at this point. I am so grateful to have found him and highly recommend him!!!!!

I help students master the fundamentals of essay writing, with a strong focus on structure and cohesion. Drawing from classical models of rhetoric and argumentation, I teach students a no-nonsense approach that will allow them to master the ubiquitous five-paragraph essay as well as improve their ability to put their thoughts to paper more generally.

Writing has been a central preoccupation for me since I was little. My writing has been published in a number of publications, including the Twin Cities Daily Planet, Dusted Magazine, Cacophony Magazine, and the Walker Art Center Magazine. I have presented original papers at Northwestern University's Block Museum as well as the annual Mental Health America Conference held in Washington, D.C.

I look forward to getting to know you and figuring out together how best to meet your individual needs.

About Mark

I studied music and comparative literature at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a city with a thriving music scene. Shortly thereafter, I left for another city with a thriving music scene: Chicago. I play primarily within jazz and improvised music contexts, but have also perfor

Elizabeth is a phenomenal instructor! Both kind and patient, she is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to help me understand the nuances of technique or the background of a particular piece of music. I'm nowhere near a natural player, but her approach to structuring my lessons and practice activities fits my needs as a learner, especially considering that I am an adult student juggling a myriad of other responsibilities. Elizabeth is adept at tailoring her lessons and long-term approach to my growth as a player to my skills and challenges, so that I not only immensely enjoy the experience, but also feel the growth I am making each and every week. She's the best I've ever had!!

Learning to read can be challenging in English. Our language, while beautiful, has as many unique characteristics as do our people! Since I have a secondary English minor, I've had long experience in reading, teaching and interacting with many levels of students.

Difficulty in reading can often be simply a translation problem. When that glitch is narrowed in on, and taken apart, the magic of words opens up!

I teach the basics of Algebra and show the student every step in a simple and easy to learn way. If the student knows the basic multiplication and division, I can teach him or her. Math is fun and I understand how intimidating it can be at first sight and I can ease their fears of math and plus I am patient and more concerned about the student learning from me more than my earning from the student. If the student continues with me, I can teach the student how to derive the quadratic equation the quick and simple way.

How to Analyze an Argument in an Essay | 4 Easy Steps

At some point in your academic career, you'll need to know how to analyze an argument properly. Here, tutor Andrew P. shares his guide to success...   As a college student, you'll be expected at some point to understand, restate, comment on, or discuss someone’s assertion (strongly stated position). An argument is a reason(s) for a conclusion. He is dense (reason); therefore, I won’t talk with him (conclusion). I won’t talk with him (conclusion) because he is dense (r …
