Hunter is a phenomenal teacher. My son (7) and myself have been taking weekly lessons with Hunter for 8 months now. He is wonderful with kids focusing on my son's readiness and getting him to enjoy and make progress. With me, Hunter has been great at adapting to what I wanted to get out of the lessons and I have made really great progress I did not think was possible. Thank you Hunter!!!

In lessons, I will teach students how to develop an embouchure and make sound, have proper technique, discuss equipment care, how to read music and develop note recognition, and ultimately, play music. The goal is to get my students playing with proper technique, so that this will carry on throughout their career and playing of the instrument. After getting some sounds out of the instrument and having decent technique, students will be assigned 1-2 songs to work on each lesson. It is the learning of music on one's own, that I believe, truly challenges the student to continue to apply information given in lessons.

I also teach lessons for Bass Clarinet, for any students that are interested in studying :)

"there are many clarinet players. Some are good, few can teach, and a minuscule amount are both. You have just found one of those few. This man has judged at international competitions, and has incredible patience and memory. He has studied under an understudy of the founder of the american school of thought for clarinetists, and always knows what you need to know, even if you are only in 8th grade.

"Ryan Pereira was the first private teacher I had on the clarinet. With his help, I managed to get into my district band for the first time, scoring high in my audition, I have bought three of his products (a ligature and a barrels) which work brilliantly, and his expertise on performance and technical knowledge has helped me grow in a positive way. In addition to all of this, Pereira has become a true mentor and an honest friend."
