About Ray

Ray is an amazing teacher. My 11-year-old has high-functioning autism and has a great interest in learning music. I was hesitant to hire just any teacher, as many teachers don't have the patience and understanding to work with special needs kids. However, Ray has been not only patient, but he has an exceptional way of teaching my son in a way that he would understand and retain the information. Ray is creative, intuitive, and experienced. My son is very happy and enjoys the lesson every single time. Thanks Ray.

Dr Kimberly is an absolutely fantastic instructor. My son was brand new to the saxaphone and she was incredibly patient and encouraging. One of the things we really loved was her trying to find theme songs to my sons favorite TV shows so he would have something familiar and fun to play.

I cannot share any details because I was working during this freaking pandemic while my child was taking this lesson so I have no idea how it went, but my child seemed happy, is enthusiastic about the clarinet, and said his teacher was nice, so five stars from me!

I loved today's class! The teacher helped me understand row number 7 and 8! :)

Anthony is an excellent instructor. During our COVID-19 shutdown, I wanted my son to continue learning the trombone. I happened on the takelessons website and it was the best experience. Even though our lessons were virtual, it felt like my son was being taught in person. Anthony works well with children and pays attention to detail. After one session, I could hear a difference in my sons sound. He did an excellent job of teaching notes, scales, and techniques. If you need lessons, give Anthony a try.

From my first lesson, Anthony had me doing a full scale. Anthony really makes you feel comfortable, even for an old beginner such as myself. His approach is very warm, and inviting. I am glad I settled in finding Anthony, and I look forward to all of my lessons upcoming.

We sent music to Chelsea in advance and she was able to help my son with the difficult parts of his music. The time was well spent and she explained things well. We look forward to our next lesson and working with her over the next month to help him catch up.

Luther is an excellent and patient teacher. I’ve been playing guitar for nearly a decade, but have been self-taught and always neglected working on the fundamentals. With extra time on my hands during the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to try online guitar lessons. Luther took me back to square one and has made sure I get everything perfect before moving on. It’s making me a much more consistent and disciplined guitarist, and I’m learning to read music for the first time. I wasn’t sure how useful remote guitar lessons would be before I started, but was pleased to discover that Luther makes it an excellent way to learn.

"Incredibly amiable, professional, and talented as a teacher.

As a senior in high school now graduating and transferring into college, I started my lessons with Dimitry in December last year and had to end this summer at the end of the music school's program. Even though my time learning the saxophone was short, Dimitry used my past musical experience to help guide me through the instrument. His lessons did not feel long in any sense of the word, and in fact some two-hour lessons I took to make up missed weeks blew by, as I was constantly engaged by his teachings. During my studies with him I found myself in the presence of a true musician, and this was only further driven home when I saw him play in the Hanover Wind Symphony at the Morristown Community Theater with Stanley Drucker. I would highly recommend Dimitry as an instructor for a student at any level."

I only wish to have had more of an opportunity to perform with and learn from these lessons. Learning how to play saxophone starts with the right equipment--namely, a quality neck strap! Read on for some helpful advice from Brookings, SD teacher Carl S...    The saxophone is a unique instrument for many reasons. One example is that the saxophone is the only band instrument that uses a neck strap. Unfortunately, the neck strap is often the most overlooked aspect of playing the instrument.
