I started my musical training as a pianist at YAMAHA institute at age 4 in Japan. I was selected to enter perfect pitch class. It was designated for students who have perfect pitch and potentials to be professional musicians.
I enjoyed playing piano and electric piano and won the 1st prize at Kitakantou Electric Piano Competition hosted by YAMAHA institute. Because of the intensive training, I have been accompanying my students' recitals and performance exams.
As much as I enjoyed playing piano, I discovered that I also love singing, so I started to take singing lessons and majored in vocal performance during my college days.

I made appearances as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Town Hall, and MOMA museum in New York City and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. As a versatile singer, I was presented as an aspiring opera singer on the website of Maybelline New York. Her voice was featured in short films for the Japanese technology company NEC. I appeared as a soprano soloist for the opera, Jazz and theater collaboration of "TAKE ABITE" by David Antonio Cruz. I also sings Broadway songs and continues her musical theater studies. She is an active recitalist and also performs Oratorio works.
I was also a finalist at the Opera Idol Competition at Lincoln Center in New York City, The Hariclea Darclée Voice Competition in Romania and the Mario Lanza and Elaine Malbin Vocal Competition in New York City. Ms. Uchida was selected as a vocal scholarship recipient at Savannah music festival.
Her upcoming engagements in 2019 include performing concerts with Philharmonie Teplice, Neubrandenburg, Germany, the title role of Lucia di Lammermoore and a lieder recital with Opera After Hours, New York. Ms. Uchida gave a recital hosted by Russian Cultural Center in Kiev 2019. Asuka is invited to give a recital at Festival dell’arte in Wojanow, Poland in August 2019.
Besides being an opera singer, I have been teaching piano and voice for 11 years. I would like to share my skills and experience with you. Since I perform often, I can coach you how to perform on stage in addition to building solid technique and languages. Also, I have taught various kinds of music, such as Rock, Broadway musicals, Pop music, so we can work on all kind of music.

However you also need to be serious and focused. I can demonstrate various and specific techniques, phrasing, and interpretation and will always coach on how to develop your skills. However, I feel it is important for students to think critically on their own and take the first try at solving a problem themselves. I cannot emphasize enough that primarily it is you who find the ways to improve. Leaning music is a collaboration between teachers and students. On behalf of my son who is 15. Before finding Asuka, Lukas had taken voice lessons from several very good teachers (between breaks we would experiment with teachers).
Now with Asuka he feels most comfortable and feels he learns more per lesson with Asuka. More progress with all aspects of voice. She helps prepare for auditions with Broadway vocals and advance on the more serious and challenging Opera selections.
So the actual lessons are great and Asuka is also a charm; engaging and personable. As the parent I very much like she remains a professional singer as her career.
So we are staying with Asuka through the breaks and may even extend into piano lessons as well.
I would recommend Asuka without hesitation.
My name is Ray, I'm 31 years old, and was born in Queens, NY. I studied classical music for many years as a youngster at the Aaron Copeland School of Music college preparatory program. During this program I was introduced to Jazz, and around the same time began experimenting with synthesizers. I went on to study Electronic Production & Design at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and quickly became a very sought after studio musician and performer.
I've been successfully teaching many instruments and proficiency levels for approximately 16 years now, and can say with pride that teaching is my passion, and I anticipate it remaining a very important part of my life.
I enjoy reading nonfiction books on science, math, and philosophy.
*** Lesson Details *** My music lessons are unique for three main reasons:

*** Equipment *** Students must have their own instrument, and purchase their own materials (books, etc). From time to time I make my way to a local music shop, and am happy to purchase materials for reimbursement.
*** Specialties *** Classical music is my background, and what I believe to be the most cognitively and emotionally fulfilling style of music to listen to, study, and play. That said, I'm also a big fan of pop music (as well as other genres), and encourage students to enjoy, for example, learning their favorite songs from the radio.
My understanding of music theory is extremely thorough, and I'm happy to incorporate as much or as little of it as the student's interest dictates, nevertheless maintaining the minimal amount of theory necessary to get the most out of learning music and the instrument.

My son and daughter both take from Ray and they love him!!! My daughter started with him after she had had 2 other teachers and she improved immediately. She loves going to Ray because he teaches her to play the songs that she likes. Now she plays so many songs for memory!! My son loves going to piano and is always excited to see Ray.

My early childhood music education focuses the student through immersion, encouragement, small steps, and an unforced timetable for learning material based on each student's development and ability to imitate examples and internalize principles. Regular consistent practice is required and parent involvement is encouraged for younger students. Elisa is a guitarist, composer, arranger and conductor based in Boston, MA.
Despite not being born in a family of musicians, Elisa's musical talent manifested itself since she was a little girl. During preschool and elementary school, her natural inclination towards music was evident in her music classes, where she would play one of those plastic Yamaha recorders that were so popular in schools in the 1990s. Her musicality, sense of rhythm and dynamics were prematurely developed.
Elisa got her hands on a guitar for the first time when she was 11 years old. Her dad bought her a nylon string Yamaha C-60 for Christmas, and, soon after, she started taking lessons with a classical guitar player and teacher, Ugo De Panfilis. With Ugo, she prepared to audition for the Conservatory of Music of L'Aquila "Alfredo Casella", which she entered
a couple of years later. At the conservatory, she studied classical guitar with Maestro Filippo Rizzuto and Maestro Riccardo Fiori, and she studied choir repertoire and music with Maestra Rosalinda Di Marco. From the same institution, she obtained a Solfege License, studying with Maestro Claudio Contrevi, and a 5-year Diploma in Classical Guitar.
While attending the Conservatory and high school at the same time, Elisa bought an electric guitar and started her own rock band, Madness Waters, with her friend, bass player and mechanical engineer, Francesco Pignatelli. With the band, she played numerous shows, went on tour and recorded four demos, one of which sponsored by Icarus School of Music of L'Aquila. After high school, she attended the University of L'Aquila, where she got a "110 e lode"—the highest score and laude one could achieve—Bachelor Degree in Linguistic and Intercultural Communication, majoring in English and minoring in Spanish. In the meanwhile, she was still playing, recording and touring with Madness Waters.
After graduating University of L'Aquila, Elisa auditioned for and got accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Before moving to the United States, she took jazz guitar lessons with Italian guitar player Gianfranco Di Giovanni at Icarus Music Academy in L'Aquila, Italy, where she got the chance to attend a clinic with TV-famous Italian guitarist Luca Colombo and get a private lesson from U.S. American guitar player Neil Zaza, hosted by Icarus and guitar player Michael Petruzziello. She then moved to the United States, in May 2015, and has recently graduated Berklee College of Music.
