Victoria is very knowledgeable and was very engaged throughout the lesson. She asked good questions to assess my goals and playing level, and tailored the lesson appropriately. I am looking forward to my next lesson.

Jack and I communicated regarding my music experience and guitar goals prior to my first lesson. He was prepared and had a good starting point ready to go. After 3 lessons, I can say I’m very happy with the combination of music theory and practical guitar playing in my lessons. Jack knows his stuff and is a good guitar teacher.

I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Jack for about 8 months and it’s been an absolutely rewarding experience. I’m an adult with no musical background or training at all (despite owning a guitar for over a decade), so we began with the basics. He’s done a great job of introducing me to technique/principles of music and having me learn songs that are fun, but also challenging enough to push me further each time. What I appreciate most are his encouragement and patience. His approach is very positive and it makes for a comfortable learning environment, which has been absolutely key for me. Playing guitar is clearly Jack’s passion and it’s evident how much he wants to share that during lessons. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Jack is an awesome teacher! I started taking lessons from Jack about 7 months ago as a total beginner on the guitar. In our intro lesson, he asked me what my goals were (basically sing and play at the same time!) and has done a really great job structuring our lessons around what I want to do. Jack packs a ton into our 30-minute lessons--we play out of the lesson book, learn chords, practice techniques, and he usually gives me a fun song to sing and play. He's really good at pushing me out of my comfort zone to try new things (blues improv!) and is always very patient and positive. I would highly recommend Jack for beginners or any skill level!

Hello and welcome to my studio!

Your first lesson begins with breathing exercises as we need air to play trumpet. Proper posture, embouchure, and making a nice sound will come next. And later we will work on the more intricate aspects of trumpet playing such as articulations and range, while learning new songs!

If you are already familiar with the basics of playing trumpet, we will work on the specific areas you want to work on.

I'm glad you have decided to take trumpet lessons and look forward to helping you make great music! So what are you waiting for? Let's get started!

About Andrew

Hello and welcome to my studio! As a teacher, I want nothing more than my students to be happy playing music while attaining their goals. With the recent pandemic going around, I know that many parents and students are concerned about meeting for lessons in person, and rightfully so. That bei

My daughter is 11 yrs old. She self learnt trumpet and was playing with her friends. She was playing flat and was a bit loud. I realized she needed some training and found Andrew. In four weeks I noticed a good improvement. Andrew is really good.

I happen to play with Andrew in a local Jazz ensemble. He is the solo chair and I Play lead trumpet. I have been playing with Andrew for a year or 2 and he is an OUTSTANDING player! His solo’s are some of the best I have heard in my 45 years playing. He takes his playing seriously and I have every confidence his teaching skills on the trumpet are top notch also! I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to get better at playing the trumpet!

Andrew has been wonderful. My son started lessons with Andrew in our home and easily transitioned to on-line this spring. He’s punctual every time regardless of method. I appreciate his flexibility and understanding as sometime things do come up. During the closures due to Covid, it was nice to keep some level of normalcy knowing that the trumpet lesson would always continue. My son feels more confident with his music and we hear an improvement!

If you want to learn how to write for an ensemble, you'll need to know a bit about each instrument you write for, their ranges, their techniques and arranging for those instruments. These are what I will provide. Then the student will work on honing his composition skills in lesson and at home and will come to lessons each week with his or her ideas further developed. I am here to encourage composers to celebrate what they write as well as help them develop their own compositional style. I will also share examples from famous composers as well as some of my own work if they're interested.

About Cody

With my two Bachelor's degrees in Music Composition and Technology, I began tutoring students in piano, voice, and composition as it was part of my training. I also have experience writing and editing essays, books, and more for several independent clients. I have experience writing my own books as

"My daughter started taking piano lessons with DeAnna about a month ago. She has been really enjoying DeAnna's lessons and I can already hear that she has improved quite a bit. DeAnna is warm, caring, and patient. Her lessons have a good balance of technique and musicality. She gives very specific practice plans every week that are easy to follow. "Excellent review

It's actually my son whose doing the piano with Ms. Maureen but I usually go with him each session since this is his first time taking lessons. Ms. Maureen is so welcoming and my son likes her so much. She is very detailed and patient with my son. Her skills reflects well with my son's progress. With just 2 sessions, my son can read notes and was able to follow simple music sheet. She gave him follow up practice at home during the week which encourages my son to do his piano lessons at least an hour a day."

"Mr. Thomas is an outstanding vocal coach! He is patient, understanding, passionate and positive. I've been with him for about 5 years now doing Classical music. I started out as alto and now I am a mezzo soprano. Mr. Thomas never gives up on you and always make sure that you are having fun on what you do and improve on your technique but also to be apart of the piece and understand where it's coming from. I am still doing lessons with him to this day! He gives you many opportunities to expand and learn."

"As a student of Teresa's I can say myself and my family are very pleased with the progress I have made all thanks to her! She is a teacher who truly listens and proceeds according to what the student desires to learn, rather than taking a very traditional method. To be able to learn pieces of my generation, rather than that of the past, it makes the learning experience and my talent pay off much more in the long-term. Thanks to Teresa, my life has become much more musical and has gained an escape within the keys of my piano."
