Photography Lessons in Dahinda. Amazing Teachers.

As a student on track towards my Associates in Applied science for Digital Photography, I've learned a tremendous amount of knowledge and skills that I'm eager to share with my own photography students.

From learning the basic functions of your camera, to composing a great photograph, to managing and editing your photographs, I'm happy to share my knowledge with you.

I got my first camera when I was 8 years old and have been a passionate shutterbug ever since. I can teach you how to use all of the manual features on your camera to get the effects you want to achieve, and I can help you to train your eye to see and capture memorable compositions.

Taking pictures is the first part of the journey - the second is editing them to adjust exposure, saturation, contrast, etc. I work with Photoshop and can teach you how to tune your images and fix problems like lens dust, harsh shadows, or face shine in flash pictures.

I encourage each student to find his or her personal style to express a unique vision. You don't need any experience to become an artist, just the desire to start noticing new things all around you and capturing moments to share with others!

I am a certified teacher with a master's degree in Radio, TV, Film and one in education as well. I was an adjunct professor of photography at Manhattan's New School for Social Research for 10 years and have spent another 10 years teaching other adults as well as adolescents photography. I have conducted private lessons as well as workshops in my own studio.
My teaching is unique because, unlike many photography clubs where members voice their various opinions on photographs, my technique involves an objective approach where lessons are given each time that can be analyzed to see if requirements of the assignment were met. This way, the student learns not just through critiques, but by comparing his or her results to successful examples. I also do quite a bit of field work and teaching by example. It's the most effective way to learn. I get students putting their digital cameras on "MANUAL" right away and they master the concepts of correct exposure right off the bat.

I have been shooting wedding photos for the past 20 years. I'm happy to share my experience and knowledge with you. I have a background based in the arts from my studies in Graphic Design.
