I can help you adapt your accent or dialect for an acting role or for business/professional purposes. “Accent reduction” is sort of a misnomer because what we’re really doing is learning a different accent; we all have accents. I can help you code-switch between your habitual dialect and one that you feel is more suitable for your situation.

I have a graduate degree in education and nearly 20 years of teaching and private tutoring experience.

As someone that has lived abroad, I have had the opportunity to be tuned into diverse accents both in the United States and the United Kingdom.

This is one of my absolute passions! Did you know that “regionally specific dialects” change approximately every 20 miles? Part of my vocal training included a deep dive into dialects or accents, how to master them and how to lose them. This is so much easier than you may think! It’s all about small modifications, mostly in the mouth and jaw that can completely change the way you sound.

How many sessions you need really depends on how much work you’re willing to put in between sessions. I can give you the keys, but this is really a case of practice makes perfect. If you find you’re not booking because of your accent, let me help you master “LA speak” otherwise known as the “non-regionally specific U.S. dialect”.

Hint: I’ve lived in 8 different countries so far and in the last month I’ve had 2 of my long time acting coaches say “Wow… I would have never known you weren’t from LA!”

I am available to help reduce accents of students from any country. Hour sessions are available but count as two 30 minute sessions back to back.

My background as a singer and speaking voice expert has allowed me to help many not native English speakers gain confidence! I also work with regional accents to help "neutralize" . Bet you can't tell I'm from Chicago: I got rid of MY OWN accent through vowel work!
