About Mathew
Currently residing in Homewood, IL to play downtown with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, I am looking to continue my passion of teaching in this exciting new city. My wife and I have relocated from Bloomington Indiana, where I was an Associate Instructor for the Jacobs School of Music. Matt is an excellent guitar teacher. I highly recommend him.

Matt has been teaching guitar to my 12 year old son for several months now. My sons' guitar playing has improved greatly since his lessons with Matt. He's playing with a lot more confidence, thanks to Matt's influence.

Matt is always on time and has a wonderful way with people. My son feels very comfortable with him. They collaborate on songs together and it is important to Matt that Jude be engaged in his guitar practice.

We're thrilled with Matt and I highly recommend him as a teacher.
Any aspiring guitar player would be lucky to have Matt as a teacher!

Andrew has taught a wide range of students from young (and adult) beginners to advanced university students. His own education and playing experience has taught him that good cello playing should not only sound great, but feel natural as well. Because of this, he stresses the physical elements of cello playing in connection with a strong technical foundation, as well as the development of each student's ear and individual sense of musicality.

About Andrew
Andrew began playing cello in the public school system. He earned his Bachelor of Music summa cum laude from Arizona State University, where he studied with Thomas Landschoot, and his Master of Music with distinction from DePaul University with former assistant principal of the Chicago Symphony Stephen Balderston. He has performed in masterclasses for a diverse array of artists, including Andres Diaz, Bernard Greenhouse, Phillipe Muller, and Menahem Pressler, as well as the St. Lawrence, Orion, and Brentano String Quartets.

Andrew has played with the Illinois Symphony, Rockford Symphony, Southwest Michigan Symphony, and Chicago Chamber Orchestra, and maintains an active teaching and performing schedule in the Chicago area.

Andrew recently completed his Book 1 Suzuki Method teacher certification with Barbara Wampner at the Chicago S
uzuki Institute, where he had the privilege of observing and learning from a diverse group of students and teachers.

He is also a coffee enthusiast and enjoys visiting Chicago's many unique coffee shops. In warmer weather, he can be seen biking on the lakeshore path and exploring Chicago'™s many diverse neighborhoods.

I have been teaching cello since 1989.
Cello students of all ages and levels are accepted at my studio. All levels of the cello repertoire from the beginning through the Major Concertos will be taught. Students will be placed in courses according to the level of their current repertoire. The sequence of repertoire in the Suzuki Cello School will be used to place students.

About Kelvin
I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis.
I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham.
I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc....
The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

It is important for me to teach the building blocks of music: scales, circle of fifths, and working with technique to make learning pieces easier. We will teach you about the parts of your instrument inside and out and even stretching methods to help keep you limber to prevent any injury. I teach not only classical music, but also jazz, rock, and contemporary. Keeping my students engaged and passionate about what they are learning is key.

About Sage
As a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music, I attended the most prestigious contemporary music school in the world. I was exposed to so many amazing styles of music and rubbed shoulders with the most incredible musicians you can imagine (and performed alongside them)! I have taken my experiences and knowledge from Berklee and infused it into my teaching style. I do use Suzuki method because I believe it is an excellent foundation to work upon, but I also think that jazz and contemporary studies are a great way to expand one's horizon and learn about music in an entirely new and fun way!

I cater lessons to the individual. Is there a certain piece that you'd like to learn? I am interested in learning your interests when picking out repertoire. At the same time, I will emphasize a strong technical foundation to make it easier to learn repertoire, both solo and orchestral.

About Cassidy
I am currently a music major at Roosevelt University Chicago College of Performing Arts studying under members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. I have played in Symphonies, such as Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra as a Fellow, and I have performed across Italy on a tour. I have been teaching the cello for 5 years with students ranging in age from 8-adult. I have much experience in audition preparation, as my students have always auditioned and made the advanced orchestras in school. As music is a passion of mine, I strive to instill that same joy in my students!

I have extensive understanding of the cello. I can tutor students from the basics of holding a cello to the major concertos for cellos. I love the cello, and classical music in general, and I would love to pass on this passion to any student interested in playing beautiful music!
