Amandas' signature sound has been featured in numerous media outlets such as WGNews, Time Out Magazine, Jet/ Essence, NBC Chicago, Suntimes, and Rolling Out Magazine.

"As a rule, I teach to help a person find "their voice"- it's when timbre meets technique, skill marries sound and a person is free to execute their gift well...consistently!!!"

Our time together always start with an orientation. We talk, learn expectations and most importantly I hear where you're at and then lay out a plan to get you where you say you want to go. Our space and time together is safe, intentional and productive. We will have a BLAST mainly because I'm hilarious but primarily because I guarantee visible, measurable results and there is nothing more fun then seeing yourself do well in an area you love. Currently, I am mainly accepting students interested in the flex plan.

Singing is the most wonderful thing in the world! First of all you don't need anything besides- you! And you can do it anywhere (I've gotten requests at work before!) Then it's also relaxing and fun and it makes everybody happy, not just you but also the people around you! It help to connect with your own emotions as well as stimulating empathy! Did you know that birds have 2 larynxes so they can keep us entertained all day long? Well I don't think I need to tell you any more about the pros of singing! You have to try it!
When I meet a new student, my goal is first to get to know you and find out your personal preferences in music. Then I usually start with warm-ups, exercises, body movement and scales to determine your level. I suggest pieces that you like and that I think would be beneficial to your progress. You get to choose from my wonderful collection of music! Oh did I mention that I have a beautiful Kohler & Campbell Upright at home? Why don't you give takelessons a call so ...

About Chrissy
Originally born in Germany, Chrissy developed a passion for music, language and teaching early on. Right out of High School she helped her mother, who was an educator at that time, write and stage-manage a children's Musical which found great response from the audience. During her Music studies in the Netherlands she was offered an internship at the local Music School which she gratefully accepted and where she enjoyed her first voice coaching experience. There she was also nominated as one of the most promising young singer/songwriters at the LUX Festival in Nijmegen. Over the years she was blessed with more and more private students in voice as well as piano. During her stay in New York she received the opportunity to work with a Broadway show ensemble ("Dreamgirls") as a Music Director on their different harmonic parts. She's proudly b
een a member of the Music of Oz Studio staff in Crown Point, Indiana since Jan. 2011 and is looking forward to teaching out of her home now as well. Chrissy is crazy about all her students and wants them to succeed! She's very much looking forward to working with you and having buckets of fun! :-)

About David
I have enjoyed singing from a very young age. I went on to major in Vocal Performance in a Conservatory in New York and have performed as a vocal soloist in opera, musical theater, oratorio, and many choirs and ensembles.

I had an early desire to teach others and have been doing so since 1985. Having performed in many musical venues, I naturally wanted to share what I have learned with others aspiring to perform.

Eliza-Jane has a really good approach to teaching with a good understanding of students level of competency (or in my case lack thereof) and plenty of patience for those diving in at older age. Eliza-Jane is personable and provides plenty of encouragement. I was really nervous and apprehensive regarding the fit with a potential piano teacher and am very happy to have chanced upon Eliza-Jane.

Combining classical technique, knowledge in vocal health, studied experience in theatre, and love for all styles of music, Nicole teaches students interested in everything from Beyonce, to Taylor Swift, to Nicki Minaj; from the musicals Wicked, to Phantom of the Opera, to Chicago; and from classical composers such as Mozart, Handel, Bellini, and many, many more!

About Nicole
Nicole is available to teach lessons for students of all levels. Beginning her singing career when she was 7, she most recently sang at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, was a winner of the international CS Competition in musical theatre, and is a Chicago F.A.M.E. finalist for Jazz and popular music. Combined with her training and professional experience, Nicole teaches singers to switch gracefully between multiple styles. She practices what she preaches: one night she might be singing Beyoncé, and the next morning she might be singing Handel's Messiah!

Nicole has been a young artist for Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Metropolitan International Music Festival, and for Tiroler Opern Programm, under international instructors, including Elizabeth Bachman (from the Metropolitan Opera), Kim Josephson (Metropolitan Opera), Sharon Cheng (Caramoor),

I've worked with students who came in struggling to find pitch and they've left with powerful voices. I've worked with professionals looking to open a new opportunity and they did. This isn't rocket science, there's no secret formula. But, I do work very hard to help you discover the unique and powerful qualities of your voice. This and proper technique are key.
This is a great subject to combine with other subjects into a single lesson. Doing so may justify a 90 minute lesson. I have some adult students who spend as much as two hours at a time with me.

About Phil
I've taught both privately and in the classroom (in schools from Pre-K to college, and through workshops), and have been a working musician and teacher for more than 25 years. I have a degree in music from Columbia College Chicago (Summa Cum Laude). My students have included everyone from absolute beginners to working professionals like myself. Many of my students have gone on to careers in music as performers, songwriters and/or teachers.

My approach in private instruction involves tailoring the lessons to the specific needs of each student, while making sure that he/she has the knowledge and technique to succeed in their creative endeavors. Whether it's a hobby or a potential career, I leave nothing out. You will learn the entire instrument. In cases where a student works in more than one subject, one session can typically be applied
to all/both of them. I strive to help every student find their own creative voice, while building the skill sets required to work in any style of music.

I also offer group lessons for 3 or more students. For friends at similar skill levels, this can offer a fun and more affordable way to learn a subject. It also serves as an additional motivator as the students in the group feed off of each other for ideas and inspiration.

Please feel free to contact me with the "Ask Phil a Question" button on my profile here. This can include questions about my method, or regarding days and times for lessons. What you see in my availability here is based on my schedule away from TakeLessons. I have students elsewhere and perform shows regularly. I may have additional times available and tend to have some flexibility. I teach worldwide online. Just ask.

As soon as you're ready to book lessons, you can use the Green Button after selecting your area of study, day and time. I will receive a notification that you've signed up. I will then confirm with you and send a questionnaire regarding your lesson needs within 48 hours.

Thanks for your interest.

I look forward to working with you!

Hi :)
I am a professional singer and piano player.
I have a band called Viva Vox and we are very popular in the whole Europe.
Beside that I am a composer, MTV songwriter, violin player and I have a bachelor degree in Music Production.

Whether you are a beginner or a professional singer my Singing Lessons are far from standard ones, because singing is so much more than just singing :)

Beside learning how to breathe properly we will explore the genre that you are most comfortable with, we will learn how to sing in front of the audience and how to master the stage fright, how to compose your own song that you will be so proud of and also how to play piano (in case you don't know how to play it) because piano and singing always goes together :)

I am singing in front of 40 thousand people so let me pass on this amazing experience to you :)

p.s: Always believe in yourself and just follow your dreams.

About Aleksandar
I am a professional singer, piano and violin player, composer, songwriter and a music producer. I graduated from the Music Academy in Belgrade, Serbia with a Bachelor of Music Production.

As a singer who has a vocal band (Viva Vox) who is extremely popular in the whole Europe and concerts that exceeds 40 thousand people I decided to pass on my knowledge and experience as a Vocal and Piano Teacher. I play violin and piano for 12 years. As a songwriter I had collaboration with many worldwide performers/singers/musicians. My song was in the Top MTV Charts for 2 weeks. I composed music for international festivals, short films and documentaries worldwide. I was the best student of generation in 2015.

I have never sung in public but it was always a dream of mine to be able to sing a solo in front of my family and friends for the holidays. I heard about Ms. Lydia through friends and asked her to teach me to sing. She gave me a free consultation to determine what my needs were and then set up a plan to help me reach my goals through the lessons that she gave me. Fast forward to last Christmas, I surprised my family by singing a ton of Christmas favorites and I am preparing to do the same this year. Thank you Ms. Lydia
